I'm sorry for the lack of update lately. I've been pre-occupied with many things lately and none of them are very conducive to blogging. I have a presentation tomorrow, exam next week, and my mind is also clouded with personal issues. Anyone who has seen Honey and Clover and follow Mayama OR Yamada's story would know what I'm talking about. Anyway, at this point, not many people probably care about this review but I promised to update the blog and I already processed the images long before life started to take over and refused to let go up till now.
Summary
Yuuki tries to mod the bunch of squealing fangirls away from the night class but much to her surprise, Zero appears alongside the rest of the night class. Their reunion, however, is cut short when Kaname gives Zero his evil stare. Later on in his class, Kaname asks his classmates if he can ask for a favor. Meanwhile, Yuuki tries to be perky when she meets Zero again but ends up trying too hard and pissing him off when she offers her neck. Cross then run around flailing, telling the two that Kurenai Maria has regained her consciousness. This Maria, one who is not controlled by Shizuka, thinks that Zero is Ichiru and didn't believe when Cross told her that Shizuka has perished. She, however, quickly realizes that Zero is not Ichiru and that Shizuka is deader than a doornail. Later on, Yuuki gets a visit from a vampire who wants her to show him the place where Zero is living. As it turns out the vampire council isn't happy that Zero killed a pure-blood Shizuka so they're out to punish him. The council, however, is surprised when Kaname and the other students proceed to attack him, intending on defending Zero. In front of Yuuki, however, Kaname pretends that he doesn't believe in Zero's innocence, pissing her off in return. The episode ends with Zero wanting to kiss Yuuki but decides not to at the last minute.
Impression
Story
The first episode felt a bit slow to me. Maybe it's because I already know what's coming ahead but since the writers scrambled the storyline, I thought there'll be a few surprises in between. Nevertheless, it was still a nice distraction for 30 minutes. I do wonder where the 2nd season of this anime will go in terms of directions. I assume the manga is not over yet and I don't want a crappy ending made up especially for the anime. I think it's way too soon to come up with a sequel unless this one is only 13 episodes and only cover right up to that shocking plot.
Characters
I see that Kaname is still Douchebag McDouche. Sure, he protected Zero from the vampire council but I doubt he does it out of the kindness of his heart. Moreover, never at any point, he actually step up and claimed responsibility for the killing. On the other hand, he did help Zero from turning into Level E and that has to count for something I guess. It was actually kind of scary how he blasted a hole into a tree while Ichijou was making a joke about him and Yuuki having a fight. I wonder if Ichijou was just lucky that his head wasn't in front of that tree. Moving on, I wonder if this is the first time Yuuki actually worries this much about Zero. I guess, she always have that concern for him but there's something different about her attitude this time around. Zero himself starts to realize that he wants Yuuki as more than a friend although he chickens out at the last minute.
Animation/Character Design
There's nothing outstanding in terms of animation and I think the character design got worse. There are a lot of inconsistencies with the quality of the character design. With the show being shown in HD, this becomes apparent more than ever. Even the animation for the OP theme is not as impressive as the first season. At least there were some cool fight scenes and some meaningful imageries in the first one. In this one? We only have Yuuki wandering around like she's lost her mind.
Music
I really like the OP theme for some reason although just like the 1st one, I'll probably get bored of it in no time. The ED, however, is not as good as the 1st ED theme. Moreover, the animation that goes with it is not as creepy as the one that accompanied the 1st theme.

It's an annoying feeling, isn't it? I never thought I'll be one of those people. Now I understand almost every main characters from Hachikuro. Except Morita and Shuuji.
It took a bit longer than expected but here we are with the first episode of Vampire Knight Guilty. The opening and the ending really gave us a hard time. No wonder that we had difficulties in transcribing and translating the lyrics since even native speaker Japanese came up with different versions.

LOL, you too? Actually, I had an EPIC FAIL of an experience today. I was waiting for a bus when the person in question appeared and stand next to me. I could have said something but I didn't say a word. Not even when we sat across each other. *bangs head against a wall*. To make things worse, I think another girl noticed that I was staring (she was smiling at me all of sudden when I was about to get off the bus). *face palm*
At this rate, I'd be writing in livejournal instead of memento.
Guys hit all the same symptoms, you're not an exception, me neither lol... Symptoms are visible, of course hahah that's why people call it 'love-sickness'.. I'm done with it, since I'm sobered only once I get the answer, and that's it.

ya same garten....the ending lacked A lot of interest except the last scene with the bloddy butterfly, as for the op I was hoping they'd show more of the long haired yuuki as i was on the poster...=( but i like both songs...ON/OFF is totally becomin more popular and kanon wakeshima is probably the loli-queen in japan (currently) =O

I don't know much about the show but I would think that butterflies in general don't have much to do with VK but its more of the bloody butterfly outline from her body being caught in the spiders web. So most likely just symbolic references.

And just one small question...
Is it just me or has Shiki's hair gotten even lighter than it was before? I thought his hair was dark brown in the manga. I really loved it then!! I just wish that they could have made Shiki's hair darker in the anime... I mean, why did they have to make it pink?? T_T

Nice, this Blog is getting one update per month, or even less. Soon you will be able to count all the entries in a year with your two hands.
I found Blogging a hobby, a habit, a relaxing exercise. it doesn't take long to write one but when the motivation is not there for this long I think it is safe to say that the Blog has reached its end. I saw this day coming long time ago. I am one of your old readers. Very old indeed to know your style and the process this Blog went through to get to where it is now. My final suggestion is to write one last entry, talk to your fans who kept coming here to check despite the lack of update of any kind in the last year or so and finish this.
Wish you luck with your life and thank you for your wonderful entries in the past few years.

Vampire Knights is pretty cool, altho' it kinda reminds me of Code Geas for some reason (yet the opening and ending songs just remind me of Rozen Maiden 2nd season).

'Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (The Wallflower)' anime/manga.
That one's pretty good and quite funny (reminds me of School Rumble, actually but with diff. themes and diff. storyplot).

i actually find vampire knight super annoying now. i used to like it but for some reason, i couldn't imagine one of my friends watching it, even though it was reeli good in my opinion. then i figured out why: it seems like a shallower attempt at a creepy/vampire anime. a lot of it is pretty cliche and they try to hard XP i mean its like, secrets + blood + hot guys + red roses XP after watching a few eps of guilty, i just dropped the series (though i may pick it up again if zero gets with yuki, if not, i'm gonna hate vk even more ^^)
umm yea i am looking fora show i seen it on tv a wile back i never got the name of it ether it had something to do with alts and the main guy his alt was his arm and another he could make anything go fast ... aka a car and ect well if you can let me know
