I really love this song.. Utada Hikaru really sings naturally from the heart.

man! i love this song! although this video wasn't fancy, it's simplicity was what really caught my attention. i like utada hikaru's hairstyle too. makes her look mature in my opinion . . . . .

I just love the opening video, and there's no way PV can get better than that.

if you thought this PV was low budget you should watch Utada's "Hikari" Pv for the original kingdom hearts. we still love her never the less though :D

This PV kind of reminds me what she did for her Flavor of Life PV ... I really wish she made the PV for this song a lot more interesting since the opening sequence for Last Friends was really well done and powerful.

This song is really great , Utada hikaru is a great singer...and her lyrics actually make sense ..... but that PV has been a big dissapointment ..... the pv should have been dramatic ; i'd rather see an MV of last friends with the song ( which she could have done)

at first, it didn't strike me too much, but now I really like this song! I agree, the PV isn't too great, but maybe it's because it's a re-cut single. But since the OP sequence was just soooo good, I guess it sort of counts as a PV...? haha

Oddly enough, I first became aware of Hikaru Utada when I realised it was her name that was being parodied in DiGi Charat. A few years later, I was in a sushi bar in Sydney and I asked one of the waiters who was singing on the CD they were playing... 'Hikaru Utada' was the answer.

I made a mental note to look further into her music, but never did, until I came across 'Beautiful World' via your Eva movie entry several months ago... such a gorgeous song! Some of her earlier work is a bit hit-and-miss with me, but her last couple of albums have an ethereal quality that strikes a chord within me... I've enjoyed her latest album 'Heart Station'...

the PV for "Hikari" felt more low budget, but i laughed so hard my friend showed it to me.

I really loved her music for the KH games. The opening for each game was an amazing MV in itself. I agree that Prisoner of Love should've been a bit more dramatic, or at least had some Last Friends stuff in it. The Last Friends opening is so good (but the drama doesn't show the whole thing anymore, boo)!

But sometimes Hikaru Utada looks a bit like Ruka in this video with the short hair. =)

Yeah, it's kinda simple but Utada fans should love it since it's pretty much a video diary of her. Lol. But I wish there's a Last Friends version or something you know. If they included it in the single's DVD, I'm pretty sure the sales would have rocketed. Heheh.

I really like this song, but I agree with you when you say that the PV is a little disappointing. I was honestly expecting a lot more (given the opening to Last Friends and how nicely it was done up) since there was so much potential given the lyrics and themes involved. But oh well, you can't get everything, can you? (:

When I first listened to this song I was like "hmm...a so-so song'. But I've changed my mind after listening to it more and more. It's charming and not-just-a-pop-song. Anyway, I quite agree with you that the PV could have been better... Yeah, this song deserves more creative PV than this. -.-

Hikari's PV is another case. It looks more interesting and creative than Prisoner of Love's PV IMO.

Thanks for reviewing this song. When I first heard this song, the beats in the background were so catchy along with Utada's voice. In my head I had an image of what the PV would be. Definately a lot more dramatic. I am disappointed by what the actual PV is like. I feel the opening of the drama is a lot better. The nice thing though, I guess because this version is so simple, it also allows me to keep in my head what I imagined it to be.

Most of Utada's PVs are very boring and simple. That's why i just prefer listening to the songs.

そうかなぁ？ I actually liked Beautiful World more than Prisoner of Love; they were both repetitive, but Beautiful World didn't get tiring for a long time.
