Speed Grapher Promo

The latest Animage magazine comes with a slew of Spring 2005 Anime trailers. I managed to rip the Speed Grapher and Hachimitsu to Clover trailers. I kind of like both of them although I'm a bit worried about Hachikuro's rather bright trailer. Hopefully this is not Bleach mark 2. The Speed Grapher trailer is the same to the one that is available on the official site but this one is bigger. If you have a particular trailer you want to see, please let me know. Of course, that will depend on whether or not that trailer is available.

Hachimitsu to Clover (3.5MB, DiVX)
Speed Grapher (10.2MB, DiVX)
Sousei no Aquarion (12MB, DiVX)
Ichigo Mashimaro (9.5MB, DiVX)
Saikano: Another Love Song (8.2MB, DiVX)
Gundam Z (7MB, DiVX)
Eureka 7 (32.8MB, DiVX)
Emma, Victorian Romance (10MB, DiVX)
Koi Koi 7 (11.2MB, DiVX)
Zettai Shounen (3.5MB, DiVX)
Izumo (6.3MB, DiVX)

Very cool, thanks for posting the trailers for the two new shows I'm really looking forward to seeing (but way on the opposite ends of the spectrum, neh).

I've heard there is a new City-Hunter genre series coming out called 'Angel Heart'? Is there a trailer for that? Official site is only a splash page atm.

Speed Grapher looks quite good, thanks for posting it. ^^

This is a longshot, but do you know of any trailers for Loveless? It's set to premiere early next month, but I'm restless. :P

Speed Grapher looks S/M driven. Considering it's Gonzo that might turn it into a pointless cliche-driven show very fast. Anyway, I've never watched a Japanese voice actress while performing with such a high-pitched voice. That looked quite odd, didn't it? To me, that was a little wake-up call as to how far (female) anime voices stray from reality. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing bad about that.

Nice Hachimitsu to Clover trailer. The little girl seems clumsy but I guess that makes the show even more interesting.

There is a trailer for the Futakoi Alternative show on the official website but it's of low resolution. Can you post a high resolution version of it?

March 21, 2005 | Garten wrote:

Sorry to disappoint you guys but there isn't a trailer for those shows you guys mentioned (Angel Heart, Loveless, and Futakoi alternative). The disc is rather limited in content. Here are the shows included in it, I should have listed it earlier:

Ichigo Mashimaro
Izumo
Emma, Victorian Romance
Koi Koi 7
Eureka 7
Kore ga Watashi no Goshujin-sama
Speed Grapher
Zettai Shounen
Sousei no Aquarion
Hachimitsu to Clover
Some Gundam trailer
Full Metal Alchemist the movie (very short trailer)
Saikano: Another love song
Munto

As for VA, most of the time the voice that VA uses in anime are not their real voice. Of course, there are occassions where they end up using their real voice but it's quite a rarity.

Can I ask for the Eureka 7 and the Sousei no Aquarion trailer?

Thank you so much for posting those trailers too. Hachimitsu to Clover looks so ... pretty!

March 22, 2005 | Garten wrote:

Sure. Just give me time to do it since I'm at work at the moment and the disc is at home. And be aware that Eureka 7's trailer is 5 minutes and 30 or so seconds long (it's more like behind the scenes doco mixed with footage of the series). The software I use to rip the trailer can only do 5 minutes sequence at most, so you probably miss 30 seconds of the trailer.

There is going to be a Munto Tv series??

March 22, 2005 | Garten wrote:

Nope. That one is an OVA, ditto with Saikano. It's going to be animated by Kyoto Animation (Air).

March 22, 2005 | Anjing wrote:

Thank you so much! I'll wait patiently ;)

Thanks for the trailers!

IIRC the voice actress for the female lead in Speed Grapher was to have been selected by fan voting. Listening to her squeaky mouse-voice, I'm not sure they made the right choice.

And the singer in the Honey & Clover trailer sounds only slightly more mellifluous than Chiba Saeko does in the Dokuro-chan OP.

Of course, I'll probably be checking both out anyway, but still...

Anjing -

There's a high-quality (1Mbps) "Eureka 7" trailer on-line here: http://mbs.jp/eureka/index2.html I don't know if it's the same as the Animage trailers, though. (And it's surprisingly poorly encoded for such a high bitrate.)

March 22, 2005 | dbm wrote:

Anjing -

I just realized the on-line Eureka 7 is only 3:17 long. So the Animage trailer looks to be pretty interesting.

Hey Garten,

Can you send and/or upload over:
- Ichigo Mashimaro
- Some Gundam
- Saikano

trailers? Thanks man! :)

March 22, 2005 | Garten wrote:

Okay, all of those trailers are up there except for Eureka 7. It'll take a while until that one is fully uploaded because the size is rather huge (34MB). But as soon as it's uploaded, I'll post it here as well. I hope you guys enjoy it. :)

March 22, 2005 | wao wrote:

Ahhh! Garten, you are my saviour. Thank you so much for ripping + uploading it for us! I am really really glad to be able to see these trailers...

Thanks, and I can't wait for the Eureka 7 one, the one on MBS was really badly encoded but it looked awesome anyway (the animation!! the designs!! the special effects!!)...

March 22, 2005 | Anjing wrote:

Wow thank you Garten! The trailer got my attention and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Thanks again! :)

dbm: Thank you for that link. I'll take a look there too.

March 22, 2005 | Garten wrote:

I give up trying to upload Eureka 7 into yousendit.com, so now it's on Mentar's server. Unfortunately, it seems to me that this one is not as flashy as the one on the MBS site. It doesn't have the cool bits with the soundtrack.

March 22, 2005 | moyism wrote:

nice nice. Thanks for posting all the trailers :D

March 22, 2005 | Phil Lee wrote:

Just so you know, the Gundam trailer looks to be pimping DVDs of the old Zeta Gundam series.

Meanwhile, I'm curious to see if Speed Grapher will be produced by Good Gonzo (Last Exile, Gankutsuoh) or Bad Gonzo (everything else), and was very pleasantly suprised by Eureka 7. Oh, and the website for Hachimitsu to Clover claims the main female character is 18, which I refuse to believe.

Finally, if you're still taking requests, I'd love to see the Emma trailer. Either way, thanks for providing all the trailer goodness!

Phil

Hello. I thought the trailers you posted were great. Especially Speed Grapher. In one of your previous posts, you said that Full Metal Panic: 2nd Raid was one of the upcoming new anime releases this spring. although it won't be released this April. I was wondering if you can post up a trailer for that. It would be GREATLY appreciated. If they don't have it or you don't get the chance to get it, that's alright. I'm looking forward to more of your reviews. Thank you.

March 22, 2005 | animePhreak wrote:

Hmm...
Speeh Grapher's trailer oddly reminds me of Witch Hunter Robin O______________O

March 22, 2005 | Garten wrote:

Well, Emma is up.

Phil, I know it's hard to believe but Hanamoto Hagumi really is 18 years old. IIRC, she actually goes to a college along with the rest of the guys.

Pauline, unfortunately there isn't FMP: 2nd Raid trailer included in the DVD. I'm not even sure that it'll be released this Spring. The schedule on Moonphase simply says '2005'. That can mean anything from this April to late December. :(

March 23, 2005 | Clem wrote:

Could you please upload the Koi Koi 7 and Zettai Shonen promos? If you could, you'd have my sincerest grattitude. =]

March 23, 2005 | wao wrote:

I don't think FMP:TSR will be done this spring, not until some time after AIR I think. Thanks for the Emma trailer, too.

March 23, 2005 | Garten wrote:

Koi Koi 7 and Zettai Shounen should be up now. :)

March 23, 2005 | Bobma wrote:

Ah, thank you for putting up those trailers. It's nice to have a chance to see what's coming along this spring. I may be the odd one around here, but Emma's the series I'm looking forward to the most. I'm following the manga and it's an all around enjoyable romance story. Eureka 7 looked interesting, but I found the bit about sky surfing mechs a bit out there or wannabe hip. OTOH Bones has a pretty good track record so let's see what they do with this premise.

March 23, 2005 | dbm wrote:

Urk, I guess I'll be giving "KoiKoi7" a pass. As many panty shots as "Agent Aika", only with less attractive character designs.

OTOH there's the animation & art direction of "Zettai Shounen" somehow appeals to me, so there's another one I may need to check out.
