Wow. That was just plain awesome storytelling. Just like other tragic stories, what transpired in this episode is not exactly the mistake of one person, or in this case, one doll. A series of misunderstanding between the dolls and each doll's competitive nature towards each other are the reasons they end up being enemies now. I still can't get over the fact that such intricate relationship gets to be shown in an OVA, something that is normally used to just milk the franchise. Instead of showing pointless battle like other series' OVA, this one actually delves into the motivation of Suigintou, Shinku, and Souseiseki. At the end of this short-lived OVA, the viewers will know why Suigintou hates Shinku/Souseiseki and why Shinku hates Suigintou as well. This one also shows that 'Father' is probably not as cruel as we thought.

Continuing from the previous episode, Shinku tried her best to convince Suigintou not to be afraid. However, when Shinku got closer to Suigintou, the other doll noticed the brooch in her bow. This triggered a memory of the time when she saw 'Father' carefully placed a hat on Shinku. Suigintou suddenly lost it and starts going calling after 'Father' while trying to grab Shinku's brooch. In retaliation, Shinku throwed Suigintou against a wall once more. At first Shinku thought that Suigintou tried to attack her but upon seeing Suigintou's sorry state, she started feeling sorry for the other doll. The next day, Shinku decided to let Suigintou stay with her and Sarah. Shinku also informed Suigintou that unfortunately 'Father' is not there but before Suigintou goes off looking for him, she believed there's something Suigintou should do. Shinku then held out her hand, offering to help Suigintou learning how to stand up on her own.

Meanwhile, Sarah learnt from her parents that a man has arrived in town looking for a living doll. When a noise can be heard coming from upstairs, Sarah had no choice but to distract her parents' attention by spilling her food onto a table. When Sarah checked on the dolls, she saw Shinku trying to help Suigintou walking. She took Shinku outside the room and asked the doll why she's helping Suigintou especially since she's a Rozen Maiden as well. Sarah reminded Shinku that the doll has to defeat other Rozen Maiden so she wondered why Shinku has been helping Suigintou walking every single day. Instead of answering the question, Shinku simply told Sarah that Suigintou is a good doll and promptly returned to the room when she heard Suigintou falling down again. The next day, Shinku continued to teach Suigintou how to walk as well as other skills such as tea making. Judging from Shinku's expression, it seems Suigintou can make an awesome tea.

Eventually, Suigintou is capable of walking on her own. She asked Shinku if Shinku thinks 'Father' would be delighted about this and Shinku assured her that he certainly would. Shinku even praised Suigintou and called her beautiful. When Suigintou didn't notice, however, Shinku looked a bit sad and was surprised when Suigintou embraced her tightly and sincerely thanked her efforts. The next day, Sarah gets a visitation from Enju and Laplace in his 'Shirosaki' human guise. The two inquire her about a 'living doll' but Sarah denied the existence of such doll in her house. Unfortunately, Laplace noticed the Rose ring on Sarah's finger and managed to take a closer look at it. Sarah quickly retracted her hand, asking Laplace not to touch her hand. Laplace tried to ask for Sarah's permission to enter her room but she rejected him flatout. Later on, Sarah told Shinku that she thinks the man is suspicious since she never mentioned Shinku to anyone else.

Shinku believed that the person that Sarah met was "The Dollmaker" but their conversation got interrupted when Suigintou suddenly came out of the box looking horrified. It appears that she just had a dream and in that dream, Suigintou saw herself being neglected while Shinku received the full attention of 'Father'. Suigintou instinctively tried to touch Shinku's brooch but Shinku covered it with her hand and told Suigintou what she saw was just a dream. That night, Shinku became worried because Suigintou's memory slowly returns. It doesn't help that "The Dollmaker" has appeared. In the midst of her confusion, Lempicka appeared and invited Shinku to a battle with Souseiseki. Before she leave the rom, Shinku asked Sarah to take care Suigintou but unknown to them, Suigintou saw Shinku entering the mirror that lead her to Souseiseki's N-Field, a large empty cathedral.

At one point during battle, Shinku managed to knock out Souseiseki's scissors from the doll's hand but Souseiseki retaliated by throwing her hat towards Shinku, knocking out Shinku's cane in the process. Shinku started to become catty again, calling the hat an ugly hat. In retaliation, Souseiseki told her that it's a hat given by 'Father'. Before they can go on at each other again, however, Suigintou appeared in the N-Field and called out for Shinku. Souseiseki was surprised to see Suigintou because the doll managed to penetrate her N-Field. Suigintou, on the other hand, begged Souseiseki not to harm Shinku. Souseiseki wanted to know Suigintou's name but Shinku quickly told the other doll that she's just Suigintou, her friend. Unfortunately, Suigintou blabbed out to Souseiseki that she's the first Rozen Maiden. Shinku immediately asked Suigintou to step back but it's too late because Souseiseki suddenly attacked Suigintou with her scissors.

Suigintou's body suddenly got torned into two parts, her upper and lower bodies. Souseiseki was surprised to see this, realising that Suigintou doesn't have stomach. In an attempt to explain Suigintou's situation, Shinku told Souseiseki that Suigintou is not a Rozen Maiden but an incomplete doll who only remembers 'Father'. Because of this, Shinku couldn't help but feeling sorry for Suigintou. Since Suigintou had no Rosa Mystica, Shinku also believed that sooner or later Suigintou would disappear. Shinku then asked Suigintou why she came here and didn't just stay at Sarah's place. She believed Suigintou would have been happy being Sarah's doll but now Suigintou is pretty much dead. As soon as she said this, two portals appeared underneath Suigintou and sucked her upper and lower body. Suigintou screamed and asked Shinku to save her but Shinku didn't do anything to help the doll even when Suigintou got dragged into the portals.

After Suigintou disappeared, Souseiseki asked Shinku why she didn't tell Suigintou the truth right from the beginning. Shinku claimed that she couldn't possibly said "You would never be able to meet Father" to Suigintou. Souseiseki disagreed. She believes anything would be better than telling a lie. Meanwhile, Suigintou was seen lamenting her fate, asking 'Father' why he made her. When she landed on the ground, a bright figure appeared and gave Suigintou a Roza Mystica. At the same time, Suiseiseki decided to undo her contract with her former medium so she won't endanger the health of the old man. Because of this, she asked Souseiseki to undo her contract as well. Souseiseki was reluctant because she's still trying to fight Shinku but eventually caved in to Suiseiseki's pressure. When Shinku found out about this, she decided to end her contract with Sarah. She kissed the rose ring and asked a sleeping Sarah to become a fine lady.

Shinku exited the room through the mirror and found herself in an unknown N-Field. While walking around to investigate the area, Shinku was startled when her name was called by Suigintou. The other doll then appeared intact, asking Shinku if she's surprised. She explained that as she thought, she's really a Rozen Maiden. She then showed Shinku her Roza Mystica. Shinku found this hard to believe because Suigintou is an incomplete doll. She argued that Rozen Maiden are meant to be the ultimate girls, dolls who would become Alice. Because of this she believes that Suigintou is different from the rest of them. Suigintou became upset upon hearing this and told Shinku that as she thought, Shinku always sees her as a doll who is less fortunate than her. Sugintou also believed that Shinko looked down on her and only wanted to make fun of her. Shinku tried to deny the accusations but Suigintou refused to hear Shinku's words any more.

Shinku explained that she wanted Suigintou to be happy with Sarah but Suigintou became offended instead. All of a sudden, Suigintou started to sprout off black wings. The wings then changed its shape into a projectile, attacked Shinku and slammed her to a nearby building. While Shinku was disoriented, Suigintou decided to use the opportunity to jump up and snatched Shinku's brooch. Shinku was shocked when she realised that she has lost her brooch and asked Suigintou to return it. Suigintou refused to do this because she remembered how 'Father' was holding Shinku tenderly. Before Shinku could get to her, Suigintou already smashed the brooch into pieces. Shinku could only stare in disbelief as she collected the remains of her brooch from the ground. Suigintou laughed out loud upon seeing Shinku's horrified look. Eventually, Shinku's sadness turned into anger. She lashed out at Suigintou and called the other doll "Junk".

This effectively set the two dolls as enemies and the two started to unleash their power. Before they can duke it out with each other, however, the clock hits 12 midnight and Laplace appeared in front of them. The rabbit informed the two that Suiseiseki and Souseiseki have gone back to sleep. This marked the end of this period's Alice game. Suigintou didn't know what the rabbit was saying but all of a sudden, she got sucked out of the N-Field. The same thing happened to Shinku, who was last seen still clutching her broken brooch. In the present time, Jun has just heard the entire story from Souseiseki when Shinku calls after him. Because of this, Souseiseki decides to leave the two alone. Jun ends up sewing the rose back into Shinku's bow. Shinku looks visibly sad after Jun informs her that the job is done. Somewhere else in the city, Suigintou can be seen standing on top of the church's roof, calling after her artifical spirit, Meimei.

Impression:

While I don't think Shinku purposedly offended Suigintou, I got the feeling that she did see herself as a superior doll in comparison to Suigintou. I think the problem with Shinku is that she could be quite arrogant at times. She has this belief that Rozen Maiden are perfect dolls and as a result, found it hard to admit that Suigintou, who is imperfect, could be one of them. Or maybe deep down she refused to believe that her much revered 'Father' could create something as incomplete as Suigintou. I believe that she did try her best to help Suigintou to learn how to walk. The problem is, she did this out of pity and not because she saw Suigintou as her equal. On the other spectrum, Suigintou clearly has low self-esteem and her pride got wounded quite easily when she found out that Shinku didn't see her as one of the Rozen Maiden. Having said that, it was very callous of her to destroy the brooch that Shinku clearly treasures.

Rozen Maiden Ouverture screenshotRozen Maiden Ouverture screenshotRozen Maiden Ouverture screenshot
Rozen Maiden Ouverture screenshotRozen Maiden Ouverture screenshotRozen Maiden Ouverture screenshot

While I can understand her anger, she should have remembered that she would not have been able to stand up in the first place if it were not for Shiku's help. On the other hand, Shinku's infamous "Junk" comment was as immature and cruel as Suigintou's action so they pretty much tie with each other when it comes to being mean. Of course, this wouldn't have started if Souseiseki wasn't so scissors-happy in the first place. I think it's a poetic justice when Souseiseki got her Roza Mystica ripped out by Suigintou later on in the story. I was also appalled to know that Souseiseki was hesitant to undo her contract with her master when it's ohvious that her master couldn't bear the strain of supporting her and Suiseiseki. It was amusing to know that Souseiseki got an old man as a medium before she got another old man as her medium in Japan. Shinku, Hinaichigo, and Suiseiseki really lucked out when they got Jun the Energizer Bunny as their medium.

I suppose I should talk a bit about 'Father' or Rozen as well. As usual, his action is incomprehensible. I don't understand why he gave Suigintou her Roza Mystica now instead of when he first built her. And why couldn't he fix her stomach while giving Roza Mystica? He reminds me of Greek Gods and Goddess who find it amusing to play with the life of the mortals and only occasionally give help to even things out. It's interesting to see Laplace and Enju appeared in this period. I kind of expected Laplace to be able to cross periods just like the dolls but I didn't expect Enju to be able to do the same thing. I hope one of these days Peach-Pit would explain why these people and the dolls are different from normal humans. Anyway, I'm very satisfied with these two OVAs. They pretty much did what they set out to do: explaining Suigintou's background and her animosity towards Shinku. Well, here's hoping that we'll get to see a 3rd season soon.

I dont' usually get RAW's. For this, though... I did. Man, but this is the type of OVA Sunrise needs to be putting out. :P Between Stargazer and some of their other things...

And more Sugintou love is now present. Gods, but I loved this OVA; it made up for some of the less-satisfying parts of Traumend for me, and then some.

Yeah, this OVA is unbelievable. I've been disappointed by most OVAs, especially recent Sunrise ones so I didn't expect this one to be this good. For once someone actually used an OVA to flesh out the background of the characters instead of featuring monster of the week or villiain that no one gives a damn in the long run.

I'd really love to see in this in Widescreen. Unlike series like Asatte no Houkou, Rozen Maiden is one of those series which really benefit from Widescreen format.

December 24, 2006 | Haesslich wrote:

Well, with luck, we'll see this in Widescreen, the same way we saw Traumend show up. Still, just to have Shinku and Suigintou's past dug up this way, and thus setting up the stage for that final confrontation in Traumend... this was the missing part of the story, which makes the rest of Traumend flow a bit more smoothly outside of the more obvious Enju-based plotholes.

My heart belongs to Shinku still, but I fear that my loyalty is now pledged to the Dark-Feathered Princess there.

Thank you for the write ups of the OVAs. I'm looking forward to them. The actions that both Shinku and Suigintou take are understandable. I think your comparison of Rozen to the Greeks is good. He could've easily made her physically whole, but perhaps he left her incomplete as a lesson that there's more to being Alice than just physically whole.

At any rate, I hope there's more of this show to come.

Obviously, breaking the brooch is not a nice thing to do, so Suigintou is partially at fault here. Nevertheless, I'd have to take Suigintou's side in their argument (and not just because she's my favorite character lol).

I've always thought that Shinku is Rozen's favorite, and the brooch is a symbol of that. I think that Shinku treasures the brooch so much (over her cloths and other stuff) partly because she also knows this. I don't think she can blame Suigintou for breaking this symbol of Rozen's favoritism after she just said stuff like "you can't possibly be a Rozen maiden like me because you are a poor incomplete doll unfit to be Alice."

Sure Shinku did nice things to Suigintou before, but she didn't consider Suigintou to be a fellow Rozen maiden at all. So it's kinda analogous to a rich noble giving a poor starving man dog food (though not quite as bad).

Suigintou had an inferiority complex and Shinku had a superiority complex, mix the two together and bam! You get two sisters to become enemies.

Well, lets hope there will be a third season; Rozen Maiden is too good of a story to not develop further.

I like this anime a lot. Since the first season this anime has intrigued me the way no other anime could do. But there is always one fact that saddens me. It is the undaunted love the dolls have to their father. When Suigintou had learned to walk thanks to the help of Sink, Suigintou asked Sink if father would be delighted when fe found she could walk. That made me sad and a little angry too. She could have walked since the birth if father had done the same thing to Suigintou as he had done to the other dolls. But instead he left Suigintou unfinished and moved to creating the other dolls. Suigintou saw father caring them, especially Sink while she was feeling miserable lying on the floor. It is so cruel. By the time she had learned to walk she should have given up or hated father. Because all the trouble she has started father's favoritism. I believe Suigintou is smart enough to know that. In this point I am a little disappointed with Sink too. She is supposed to be the smartest doll of them. Then why is she still interested in seeing father by becoming Alice? What is the point of seeing father who loves a daughter less than the others? Because she is not that unfortunate daughter? If the undaunted love to his father was inprinted in a Roza Mystica, I have to say father is a mean guy. He gave a life to the dolls on condition that they would love him whatever he does to them. Suiseiseki seems to have realized father is not a perfect person all the other dolls believe he is. Anyway there are still many things unanswered and I really hope we will have a chance to see a new season of this anime.

I think we pretty much can count this as canon since there are references to Traumend. I know that Traumend's story does not match the manga. But the entire anime's storyline is already slightly different from the manga so I don't think it's a big deal.

December 26, 2006 | Nihilartikel wrote:

Am I the only one who thinks the anime and the manga are more than just slightly different?

I haven't really read the manga, but just knowing Enju and Barasuishou don't exist in it makes me wonder if the ending of the manga will be able to fit the continuity of the anime. I mean, the anime says many things about father, albeit indirectly. Off the top of my head I can say: 1) we are told Rozen was willing to teach how to make living dolls to others (Enju) and inform them about the whole Alice deal; 2) the fact that Enju later decided to mess with the Alice Game and was perfectly able to do so tells us Rozen's plan's are not perfect; 3) the fact that Laplace cooperated with Enju tells us he is not Rozen's servant (not a faithful one, anyway); 4) Traumend's ending tells us Rozen is quite alive and able to intervene whenever he thinks it necessary; 5) Ouverture tells us Suigintou was supposed to be one of the seven Rozen Maiden, yet Rozen finished all the other dolls before even completing her body.

I always tought Rozen would turn out to be some kind of crazy genius or something, and the whole thing about having an overambitious apprentice and watching quietly as he interferes with masterplan does not fit that profile, IMHO.

Of course, no one knows what Peach-Pit will make of Rozen in the end, but precisely for that reason, I wonder if the anime just invented the aforementioned details or actually consulted with Peach-Pit, particularly after the plot twist in the final episode of Traumend, which felt like it had been made up at the last moment.

December 26, 2006 | suzumi wrote:

Why is everything Souseiseki's fault? She didn't know that Suigintou didn't have a stomach. And because Suigintou proclaimed she was a Rozen Maiden she probably assumed that Suigintou knew the rules of the game. I found it kind of weird that Souseseki's master in the first season and Traumend never seemed to be affected much no matter how much Souseiseki used her power, when her master in Ouverture looked so frail. Fushigi da... o_O

Suigintou was absolutely ADORABLE in this episode though. That smile... Kya~!

I think Rozen (well I would like to think) was planning on finishing Suigintou, but before he could get around to it the ideas for the other dolls came up in his head. I can relate to that, because I write stories for my school magazine, and when I get a new idea I need to write it down then and there, even if I'm in the middle of something else, or I'll lose it. And sometimes it takes a couple of months, or even a year, before I get back to writing whatever I was writing before. So, I like to think he was going to finish her but before he could Suigintou came to life and got lost while she was looking for 'Father'. I also think the reason Rozen didn't fix Suigintou when he gave her her Rosa Mystica was because he wanted her to know that she could become Alice if she tried hard enough, even though she was flawed. And in the last episode of Traumend Suigintou says herself that 'Father' told her that even she had a good chance of becoming Alice even though she was imperfect.

Speaking of Suigintou's Rosa Mystica....
This is just what I think, but, maybe Suigintou wasn't even a Rozen Maiden to start off with. Maybe she first became the "First Doll of the Rozen Maiden Series" when she got caught in the fight between Shinku and Souseiseki. You never know; there might be another doll that is really the "First Doll", but never got the chance to live because the Rosa Mystica that was actually meant for her was given to Suigintou. It could have been that Suigintou was actually the Sixth Doll, and Hina the Seventh. But, that's just my imagination running wild...

This OVA made me like Suigintou a lot more, and I don't blame her at all for her actions towards Shinku. I like Shinku, but everything she said was quite mean.

I think Rozen did everything on purpose. I don't think Suigintou got life just like that, or that Rozen added a "life potion" to an incomplete doll. He even added the hair! Either he is a very very bored man and wanted to know what Suigintou would do, or he is a sadist. He even left the dress for her to grab.

I really wonder if even Peach-Pit have a good explanation to what exactly is the Alice Game. I mean, why didn't father joined all the Rosa Mistica in the one he thought was more perfect? Then again, maybe the one who won, but still, why does he want an "alice"?
The manga is, from most things I've seen, clearly different in that aspect, though the same dolls are defeated, and the Enju/Barasuishou thing could be an arc, or even a filler for the real thing.

Another thing that surely annoys me is that Shinku is always the favourite. Poor Suiseiseki, which by the way, not only 'cause she is my favourite, but she is truly displayed as the goodie one of all the Rozen Maidens(if we don't take into account Suigintou's first personality, which was really nice). The ending of Suigintou in Traumend makes even more sense(the battle), even all the other Shinku/Suigintou moments.

Well, though I'm not sure if it was said in the first or the second season or not, I think it is NOT necessary to be 7 Rozen Maidens, so maybe yes, suigintou was not meant to be alive and there'd only be 6 RM, these are not dwarves u know, but anyway, I'm a little bit disappointed by the dolls personality, cause I always see them as an enirely more mature and culted beings for being able to awake in different periods of time, and so to learn of humans mistakes during history, even considering they are from two centuries ago, and perhaps only had a few times before awoken it is only acceptable for suigintou to act in such a childish way like they all did, for her to be her first time interacting with something alive, and in the end it is understandable why she broke the brochure, which I personally consider like a discrimminant simbol for the rest of the dolls, and although my favourite doll was, is, and will ever be Shinku, it wasn't nice seeing such a well rised up lady being so selfish, cruel and childish with the pure black-hearted doll.
About Enju and Laplace it surprised me really much to see them acting so openly in public, and all of it makes me wonder; if Laplace is not a Rozen servant but instead is by Enju's side, why he acts under the rules when the Alice game arises and takes the dolls to sleep when the time is up, if it is convenient for him/Enju for the dolls to destroy themselves and barasouishou's last intervention and bla, bla, and what is more he seems to have even more power than the dolls, and why the so called "Father" does nothing abut it.
Is he also amused by it?, is he really a lost Zeus from the 19th century having now fun in the 21st one?

I can conceive Rozen did this with a purpose. Since he made her clothes black and all, he probably imagined her as a dark character, gloomy, gothic. So he left her on her own for a while to hurt her feelings so bad she would turn out as he wanted her to be. If this was his intention, it worked great.

This OVA really add a major boost toward the whole Rozen Maiden animation series, it makes me feel that a third season is A MUST. (Just how deep this rabbit hole is?)

By putting everything in places, I think we get the following: Rozen, the Father, created at least five dolls to play this Alice game by 19th century. While Suigintou and Kirakishou has made, or has been made, to join the game is depending on the motivation of the Father. It is visible that his student, Enju, has grudge againist him because of jealousy - this still leaves the rabbit's motivation a big unknown.

The goal of the Father, as every dolls have been told, is to create an ultimate doll - Alice. ("...more sublime than any flower, purer than any gem, and without a touch of impurity.") However, none of the dolls was perfect enough to meet the standard. This is very likely the cause that leads to the start of Alice Game - though it does not make any sense. Especially when comparing with the description of Alice, they should have beauty pageant contest instead of combat ability contest.

I believe the Father is either a mad-mad scientist, or a genius ditz. Either way, poor dolls...

I think LAPLACE is father.

If Shirosaki can be Laplace..

Whose to say Laplace can't be the personality of FATHER designed to mediate the Alice Game?

hmm... how much do any of you know about Laplace ?

I agreed with some comments said that the reasons ROZEN left Suigintou behind, were that his new other ideas that appeared while making Suigintou, or he want to see her will to stand up and live in that condition. Yep he was their father he could do anything he wanted, even destroying them. After seeing her determination was good enough, he gave her that Mystica. It was just his nasty idea at all.

Maybe some plots were not clear, for example who exactly revived Suigintou, Rozen or Enju ? Though the most posibility was Rozen... yep some ambitious thing like that.. or what is the true meaning of Alice game ? That is the decision of this anime creators/directors and they'll decide to make clearer or not...(3rd season) . That is the same with all anime they want to save the story to LATER USE

Really I'm not really satisfied with the OVA. The truth was I want to know more about what other dolls beside Shinku think about Suigntou. But they don't show that. Suigintou is really a poor character than villain.

I hope there is a future episode with Suigintou, at least join the doll group for a tea. That 's fine. To show that her attitude isn't bad.

^ Well, Suigintou can boil a mean tea. ^

Ever noticed somethings about Shinku and Rozen? People made the observations that she's his favorite doll.

Rozen's name could also be spelled as "Rosen". Rosen= Rose.

Shinku's power = rose petals.

There you have it. Rozen's favorite doll in a snap.
God. My logic suck O_o

Autumn, I wondered about the whole 7th doll thing myself. I thought that the dolls were surprised to learn, during the second season, that a seventh doll even existed when they learned about Barasuisho.

Unlike the Rozen Maiden anime North American Region 1 DVDs which are not selling, going by what a Geneon Entertainment USA rep said at Anime Expo 2007, Rozen Maiden anime Japanese Region 2 DVDs have sold in Japan.

The limited edition of the Rozen Maiden Ouvertüre DVD - included with the Suigintou mo Koyoi mo Ennu~i radio CD starring Rie Tanaka as Suigintou and the other voices not included with the regular edition - is the best selling of all the Rozen Maiden DVDs (12,462 copies sold in the first two weeks of its release in Japan).

When first week sales figures from Oricon came out for the limited edition of the Rozen Maiden Ouvertüre DVD earlier this year, a poster on an animation DVD sales in Japan thread at Japan's 2ch forums wondered how could an anime based on a minor manga serialized in a minor magazine (Comic BIRZ) sell so well on DVD?

Watching this made dislike souseiseki even more(i hate her blind devotion to all others exept her sisters).
This made me fell bad for gin, having seen all the other dolls be made and her being left incomplete, then being trained to walk by shinku only out of pity, then when meating another Rozen Maiden, Souseiseki (of all the luck), being clived in half and have the two just stare not doing anything to help. In all I don't blame her attatude towards the other dolls.

Another thing, if she displays hostility to the others could they have done something to her as well? Or is it because they were completed and she was just left there forsaken by father?

I'm wondering what would shinku or any of the other dolls would have done if gin was just another one of Rozen's dolls would they have treated her any different. Or acted differently?

And finally my theory on why 7 dolls were made.
If Rozen were looking to create the perfect girl i think he intended suiginto to be that girl, (so this would explane why she was able to give her self life
and have the purist fillings for father), but some where along her creation she no longer fit the image and so moved on to kanaria. but saw the flaws in her personally (paranoia and self importance my theory ). Then he created Suiseiseki, but she toke advantage of the others naiveness and ignorance (hinaichigo is a good example) this overshadowed her kindness. Souseiseki was probably so pose to be a counter balance to her personally but that ended up failing.
He created a good counter personalty but she does nothing to stop her sisters acts and is ruthless in combat . He likely wanted to get it right with Shinku ,but she ended up bing a pacifist and found that she also had a Queen Complex. I think with hinaIchigo he made a girl that was to young and to childesh and easy to fool. Don't know much with the 7th doll Kirakishou haven't gotten that far in the magna and she ain't shown much In the anime.
I'm gesing that he discovered all the positive combined would create Alice so he stated the Alice
game, and for reasons unknone never told them about any alternatives, did he intend this?

whooooa that`s amazing!! i totally agree with what you said!!! o_o!! thank you!!

hmmm...and also, has anyone noticed Suigintou looks like a gothic "Alice"? I mean..if you compared Alice [ from Alice in wonderland ] to Suigintou..she looks like a more gothic-style. Was Father thinking that, i wonder? o.o

I felt so bad for Suigintou in this episode... I don't blame her at all for what she did to Shinku.
Because on top of Suigintou being incomplete, Shinku being made Rozen's obvious favorite, and having to have to observe all the dolls being cared for with love and kindness and warmth while she's on the floor, deserted... she wasn't even thought of as one of the Rozen Maiden Dolls. How hard is that? Of course, what she did to Shinku's brooch was wrong, but I don't mind her breaking it a bit. Even if Shinku happens to be my second favorite character in the series. [No, Suigintou isn't my first. It's actually Souseiseki. XD]

It just bothers my how Shinku has to be the chosen favorite for every, single thing. Is anyone else annoyed by this? -_-
