Morning Musume - Sexy Boy: Soyokaze ni Yorisotte (43.1MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
This week's Oricon Top 20 list shows the re-appearance of Morning Musume in this weekly chart of popular Japanese pop. Morning Musume used to be a nation-wide sensation in Japan but recently their profile seems to be on the decline. Many blame this on the ever-changing nature of its members, which have now escalated to a very high number of 10+ girls. Others blame it on the decreasing quality of the songs and direction of the girls. It's hard not to agree with the later sentiment especially when the lyric to their latest song mostly consists of "Sexy, ue, ue". Because of this, I see no point of providing lyric since I'm sure most people interested in the PV are not in it to sing along. But if you're curious, this page contains the lyric to the song as well as the name of the girls who sing it. Anyway, the PV itself is quite fun to watch, thanks to its mixture of light sex appeal and silly dance sequence. Last but not least, here is the full list of the Oricon ranking:
| 01 | News - Sayaendou/Hadashi no Cinderella Boy | 11 | Sukima Switch - Boku Note | |
| 02 | Hikawa Kiyoshi - Ikken | 12 | Every Little Thing - Azure Moon | |
| 03 | Shonan no Kaze - Sumire Uta | 13 | Yaida Hitomi - Go my way | |
| 04 | Morning Musume - Sexy Boy: Soyokaze ni Yorisotte | 14 | Ayaka - I believe | |
| 05 | Hamasaki Ayumi - Startin'/Born to Be | 15 | Hakase Tarou - Symphonic Poem "Hope" | |
| 06 | Angela Aki - Kiss Me Good-Bye | 16 | Jyukai - Anata ga Ita Mori | |
| 07 | Remio Romen - Taiyou no Shita | 17 | Remio Romen - Konayuki | |
| 08 | Nakama Yukie with Download - Koi no Download | 18 | Kobukuro - Sakura | |
| 09 | Monkey Majik - Around the World | 19 | Shimatani Hitomi - Haru Machibito/Camellia | |
| 10 | Sunset Swish - My Pace | 20 | Utada Hikaru - Keep Tryin' |

hmmmm.... Morning Musume. Not my favourite of girl bands, and the songs are indeed on the decline, but I just like looking at the girls.... >.>;
www.mm-bbs.org welcomes you (maybe).
Didn't like the song but they are cute looking!
It's strange -- Morning Musume (along with many of its spinoffs) used to be among my favorite japanese bands when I was younger. I mostly just assumed that I'd grown out of them, but you're right in that there's really no denying that their quality has gone down quite a bit.
DAITE Hold on Me (the first song I saw them do) remains to be one of my favorites of theirs'.
well..i would expect Keep Tryin' to be place higher(around 15ish maybe) ....but i guess 20th place is not so bad..
woohoo~ good job Hikki!
As for Morning Musume...hummm...i've heard of them, but i never listen to their songs before...so let me dl the PV and see.....
I have heard about them but I never knew that there were like 10 people. Must be hard to maintain. Anyways this song has me addicted and I just had to picked up their other albums. They look nice in this video, though i had a hard time telling the difference between most of them.
this song is one of my favourites of the mosume songs, it has a catchy tune.
i love michisige sayumi.. ^^
Been finding this Sexy boy of them.
Thxz a million. but actually the most PV I love of Momusu is Ambitious! PV, Gotta admit that they can make the best out of this very nicely & creatively but the rest was really good too. They can stay as long as they want on my PC if they keeps on like this. KAWAI~
Sorry for only posting here now, but I've only been into Morning Musume for the past 8 months and I only just found this page.
Anyway, I think Morning Musume are great. And that's saying a lot because you'd have to be retarded not to realise from their past sales figures that they've been on a serious decline since around 2003, long before I even knew who the hell they were. Indeed, I would almost say the current Momusu sucks compared to the way they were before 6th Gen joined. But that's beside the point because THEY'RE SO MUCH BETTER THAN 99% OF OTHER POP ACTS AROUND THAT THE ONLY GROUP THEY CAN SUCK IN COMPARISON TO IS THEMSELVES. And that proves how good they are. Furthermore, whether they release something that sells 30,000 copies or over a million copies is irrelevant because they've never had a song go lower than #6 in the Oricon charts, and in fact one song that sold around a million copies only went to #2 whereas others that've sold a mere 50,000 - 60,000 have gone to #1, proving that it's got more to do with the competition than anything else.
In addition, their main songwriter and producer Tsunku is nothing short of a genius -- and if you can name one other male songwriter who is around 40 years old yet can write songs that truly seem to be from a girl's perspective, and who can actually sound kind of cool singing along in the background with a bunch of young babes, I'd love to know about it.
Finally, the girls are absolutely stunning and you would have to be a raging homosexual with a fetish for very hairy men to disagree. Indeed, even if their sales drop right down into the bowels of Hell, the undeniable truth is that most of these girls are so deliciously sweet-looking that they'll still be able to sell merchandise based on their extremely cute, often quirky looks long after they've stopped making music. In fact their PBs are an excellent example of their ability to do so, as they feature different members looking sensual and frollicking in knob-tickling outfits and poses that would make even a latent ephebophile frisky in spite of the fact that the photos are so "clean" you could show them to a cop and get away with it.
So there -- case closed.
