The latest Newtype Japan has just announced a real second season of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. The story will begin with Tanabata event that Haruhi mentioned in the first season. There's no starting date mentioned yet but the official site will have a formal announcement on the 7th of July so hopefully it'll be revealed soon.

Yes, and hopefully, they'll also release details on the staff and overall plot details on the website tommorow. Can't wait to see more Haruhi madness; it'd be amazing if they air both second seasons of Code Geass and Suzumiya Haruhi at the same time, that'd be one great season.

I don't think Haruhi second season will air anytime soon. KyoAni already have their schedule full for the remainder of this year so I think the series wont' start until next year.

*Squee* Totally kewl!

By the way, is Garten going to be reviewing Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai since he did the first one? I hope so because it was great coming on here to read his synopsis and to be able to check back with all the points covered.

Yay! This is a cause for celebration! I haven't been interested in any anime after Kanon ended.

More Kyon and Itsuki please! Haruhi could be on her own. I mean, she and her ego should make a good couple.

... that's one BIG ahoge.

7th of July... o come on. That's Tanabata. I find thats it's perfectly timed isn't it. But i still can't wait to see when.... well I'm not saying.

Woo ya. Haruhi. Yay. [/end sarcasim]

Garten can you pleeeeeease blog Higurashi? Haruhi is great and all but I loved reading your entries on Higurashi before watching them.

Beautiful - we need more of Nagato's hacking skills.

and Garten, just wanna say... I love your blog... found it while searching for some Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu show I originally saw on YouTube's most viewed list, and since then... it's probably been the only one I'll visit on the regular...

July 6, 2007 | Diego wrote:

I do hope they use the fourth book as the core for this second season.

***spoiler ahead***

Mainly because we'll get to see a very different Nagato.

CLANNAD could be pushed back. I hope it is, there's enough h-games into anime as it is.

omg i'd be soooo happy if they decide to air it this fall. muehehhehe then i could watch it live on tv coz i'm moving to japan for good next month! muahahahhaha! so looking forward to being an akibakei LOL.

Wow, the news is all over the place. Haruhiism is already taking over again even before details of the second season is made official. Haruhi FTW! :D

July 6, 2007 | Sabas wrote:

Clannad isn't an H-game.

Clannad probably is going to air first (considering they already released a preview already) unless they want to do two shows at the same time.

I'm happy for both of these titles coming out. :)

Is it just me that don’t like haruhi 2 to come out this year? Because of haruhi 2, many people are talking about delay the releasing date for CLANNAD to 2008. Damn you, haruhi !! (Sorry to all haruhi’s fan. As much as I like haruhi, I am just looking forward for CLANNAD to come out before haruhi 2. That’s all)

July 6, 2007 | Yi wrote:

Oh wow, somehow I am not surprised. I do hope they still keep up the awesome job they in the first season. But then again, with all the fan support, there shouldn't be any reason they wouldn't do a good job.

Its too bad that Aya Hirano and the rest probably wont be coming back to the US anytime soon after the concert fiasco at AX. At least it was worth getting their autographs and meeting them in person.

Haruhi S1 had to be cut short for Kanon, so it's only fair that CLANNAD get pushed back for Haruhi S2. Payback's a bitch.

July 7, 2007 | Sabas wrote:

Cutback? Lol.
Kyo-Ani before Kanon usually ran a season with 12-13 episodes.

July 7, 2007 | Aesir wrote:

when was the tanabata event mentioned in the 1st season?

Kyon mentioned it casually in his line during the episode where the computer club president goes missing. It's episode 7 (broadcast order). I can't believe I actually remember that. Maybe I'm more into the series than I originally thought.

OH MY GOD...this is great news! XD Can't wait to see Kyon and Nagato again. I love them to bits!

July 7, 2007 | Diego wrote:

Did anyone else catch the video on either the Newtype site or the official site?

It's gone now, though (at least it won't load on my browser). The official site is still worth a shot, although if it's all part of the game - as I suspect it is - it's probably gone there too.

In any case, I think I just saw something huge.

July 7, 2007 | Pepz wrote:

Diego what did you see? I really want to know now!

July 7, 2007 | Diego wrote:

I dashed off a post on my blog about it, updating as the video played. You'll find the details there.

WARNING - the video, if you can still find it, may spoil the third book of the Haruhi novel series for you.

i think it will be released during the tanabata festival since alot of haruhi episodes have been delayed/ or set during a special event where the episode matches the current event in reality so if the first episode is about the tanabata i guess its during the tanabate festival which is held at August 7th according to the lunar calander
