Dirge of Cerberus - Redemption

Well, here's another promo video which keeps blaring throughout various stores in Akihabara while I was in Japan. This promo comes from a DVD containing Gackt's new single, Redemption, which happens to be the main theme song for Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII. There are only two contents inside this more or less priced around 1,900 Yen DVD: Gackt's version of the PV and the Dirge of Cerberus version of the PV. The first one simply shows Gackt wandering around in warrior costume. Not exactly interesting unless you're a Gackt fan, which I am not. It doesn't help that the song is not exactly that memorable. The second one, however, contains a very cool mixture of CG and in-game scenes from Dirge of Cerberus. In this version, you can see the entire FFVII crew back for another adventure.

Yep its still just a game. The CG is at astounding quality even though its CG scene for a game (the graphic is close to FFVII:AC's)
Well, I almost finished the game right now and a bit dissappointed from the high expectation I had when waiting for this game to come out. The entire AVALANCHE crew will only be seen on CG sequences partly. Very little action scene of Cloud/Tifa etc.

Anyway, the game looks like it could be cool, but I have to wonder about Square's musical choices. Out of all the bands out there, why Gackt? YUCK!! Where is Mana when you need him? Not only does he do great music, but his style is more fitting for Vincent.

Gackt is acquinted (sp?) with Tetsuya Nomura, good friends of some sort. And in DoC interviews, the director said that the staffs suggested for Gackt coz he fit more to the theme (IMO, it seems Gackt left his visual key style and so, is much healthier for international market ;p)

btw FFVII:AC DVDs are already on sale since last year, JPN vers. though.

In FF7 you get to find her on a cave crystalised as a Vincent side event.

Tragic love stories are always a recurrent cliché to dark and misterious characters :P

This game looks awesome. Probably because I've always loved Vincent ALMOST as much as I love Sephiroth. Vincent completely deserves his own game, since Cloud stole all the wind in FF7.

Is Aerith in this game? I really hope not. She's so utterly pointless. :P
