Depapepe - Lahaina (45MB, for PSP/Quicktime)

Depapepe is one of the musical groups whose works are featured as background music for Honey and Clover II. I've actually never heard any of their music before Honey and Clover II was announced. However, after hearing samples of their work, I ended up liking their music style. Maybe I'm wrong about this but the background music when Mayama greets the rain drenched Yamada and Rika back in episode 2 sounds like the type of music that Depapepe creates. This PV is basically a soundtrack for a small Japanese film called Catch a Wave and features what I presume to be local scenes from Lahaina, a town in Maui county, Hawaii. Looking at this PV makes me want to go there or Okinawa or other beach where the water is blue and the sand is white. Anyway, there is no lyric for the music because Depapepe don't sing.

All of their albums are great for easy listening, like "Morning Smile" and "Sasanami"

I think DHL's Japanese CM bgm is also from Depapepe.

Depapepe's "Start" is a nice song too. I heard it sometime on Animax Asia but was never really able to track it down until recently.

I also like Kitto, mata itsuka, which is the 2nd track included on Lahaina single. Speaking of singles, Depapepe will release a new single called Night and Day in October. This will apparently be their Honey and Clover II main theme.

Ahhh, I love Depapepe so much

Thank you for uploading their PV!! I jump on anything by them. And naturally, I was extremely psyched to see them doing H&C music. I'm pretty sure I've heard their music in the background during the series. Because of them, H&CII soundtrack is currently the most awaited for me (I wonder though, if they are writing music for H&C or using songs they've already written).

Lahaina is awesome! This video reminds me of Summer Parade too!

I really like Depapepe alot but I didn't know they were on Honey and CLover!! Must have been dreaming.

Their songs like Start and Summer Parade are pure win. Beats those pop idol trash anyday.
