There is actually an interesting underlying issue that this series could have explored a bit more but the chances that it can do that now is pretty slim since we only have two more episodes left. And knowing the writers, they'll probably prefer more fight scenes than insightful commentary on the state of humanity. The show also seems to have lost some steam when it comes to delivering surprises, which is unfortunate because that's what they do best in this one. The sudden death of Cornelia, for example, feels like a footnote than a major event. I also think that the writers have changed her motivation ever since season one but never really gave the viewers a glimpse as to what changed her mind. It's easily assumed that Euphemia's death affected her to do this but I kind of want to know how she got from that point to the point where she is now. I also kind of wish that she found out that her role model, Marianne, turns out to be a loon, just to see her reaction.
The episode begins with Nunnally explaining that Schneizel was the one who saved her. Suzaku tries to point out that Schneizel uses FLEIA to nuke Pendragon and wonders why Nunnally is working for him. In response Nunnally asks if using Geass is better. Nunnally complains about how they both were lying from her. Well, her six sense wasn't working then so maybe she should blame herself too? Lelouch then plays the role of villain again, pretending that he wasn't doing it for Nunnally's sake but for himself. It's obvious, however, that he's shaking while saying the words. He then cuts off the connection before Nunnally can say anything else. Meanwhile, Nunnally asks Schneizel if the people of Pendragon is saved. Schneizel pretends as if he has evacuated as much people as he possibly can. Nunnally seems to believe this and wants to hold the FLEIA detonator because for a child like here, nothing is more fun than playing with a button of mass destruction. Back to Lelouch, he's pissy because C.C can't see that Nunnally is still alive. Suzaku, however, doesn't care and thinks that their plan still have to proceed. He then throws Lelouch to the floor for that battered wife effect.
Suzaku tells C.C that he's Lelouch's "sword" that will get rid of his enemies and his weaknesses. Of all words, he just had to choose "sword", the phallic symbol that people use to penetrate other people. Meanwhile, Cornelia finds out that her blondie brother is a lying liar too. Apparently the entire people of Pendragon is dead so Schneizel was just lying to Nunnally. Cornelia, who feels the solidarity of pink/purple haired sisters, accuses Schneizel of manipulating people but Schneizel points out that people regardless of what, still fails to get along. Because of this, he feels that the only way to disclipline them is to pillage and plunder, using FLEIA, of course. Cornelia thinks that only God should be allowed to decide something like that but Schneizel wants to be God. Cornelia disagrees with Schneizel's method and thinks that everlasting peace won't come out of an enforced peace. Unfortunately for her, Schneizel disagrees and have had enough of her opinion. So he puts her to sleep, a permanent sleep, that is, by shooting her. Meanwhile, Sayako informs Orange that Schneizel had a separate escape craft as a decoy and the one that got destroyed was the decoy.
At the same time, C.C tries to console Lelouch, pointing out that maybe it's time that he stops. Lelouch, however, believes that it's time to extinguish evil and that Damocles' rule will just treat people as symbol. Meanwhile, Gino has apparently made the decision to fight with the Black Knight. Gino claims that he now understands Kallen's feelings. In other words, he wants to get into her pants, which doesn't make sense considering that all of these times, it was Suzaku's pants he wanted to get into. Unless he's an equal-opportunistic slut. At the same time, Toudou and Xingke agrees that although they don't agree with Schneizel's FLEIA-whoring ways, they'll co-operate with the guy to beat Lelouch for now. Oh really? And then what will they do if Schneizel uses FLEIA on their ass? Dumbasses. It's not like Lelouch is better either because he thinks he can remake the world into a better place by defeating Schneizel and the Black Knights. Oh, he also threatened them against using FLEIA by showing Xingke the UN hostages, including XingKe's sweet lolies. Xingke, being the pedobear that he is, can't stand the thought of losing his lolies so he agrees to let Schnizel borrows their power to defeat Lelouch.
Lelouch tries to spread his forces but Schneizel decides to follow those forces so Lelouch decides to change tactics and Schnizel reponds accordingly just like two chess players. Unfortunately for Lelouch, Schniezel guesses correctly that he always likes to play offense instead of defense and therefore, exposed himself to a small opening. Before he knows it, the Black Knight manages to wipe out the majority of his army. Because of this, Lelouch has no choice but to resort to another plan, involving an explosion from a Sakuradite mountain. The explosion hits the Black Knights squarely, bringing them down to a crash. Ougi is pissed off and bugged eye about this especially as he remembers that Villetta is carrying his baby. Xingke thinks it's careless of Lelouch to waste his army to facilitate this new plan because now he's army-less. Lelouch, however, is not concerned because by doing this, they've limited enemy's power and all they have to do is to destroy Damocles. Speaking of the fortress, Nunnally decides to fire FLEIA to get rid of sin from her brother, which is another way of trying to kill him. Meanwhile, Lelouch realizes that he's at a disadvantage and can only rely on Nina of all people.
Impression
It appears Lelouch's intention is to basically destroys Schneizel so that the world can be at peace. However, he completely ignores the possibility that even if the other countries are free of Schneizel, it doesn't mean that they're going to stop internal fighting between themselves. Such is the nature of humanity. In a way, Schneizel is correct even though he's twisted as well. The only way war will stop is if everyone is happy with what they have and stop wanting other countries' natural resources. However, that will be like asking people to stop coveting what other people possess. Cornelia's intention was noble but one has to wonder what she has in store as a solution? Supposing that both Lelouch and Schneizel stops the in-fighting and work together to make the world a better place, there's no guarantee that there will be one or two countries that won't like the fact that Britannia has their hands all over their country. If that country decides to go into battle with Britannia or if that country want to take over other countries' resource, what should Britannia do? Interfere or let the countries battle it out themselves?
As for the rest of the plot, I am not sure if Cornelia is dead. The writers have kept her alive all of these times so it doesn't make sense that they want her dead now. However, it's possible that because they don't know what else to do with all of the remaining living characters, they just decide that it's better to off everyone. This is the problem with a large cast series like Geass. It's impossible to give each character a good character development or to let them get a lot of screentime. As a result, when the ending is near like this one, there's no choice but to eliminate the characters who haven't got as much character development as the rest. For example, Villetta getting pregnant would have received a more development than a throw-away mention if the amount of cast is smaller. It would have been interesting to find out if she's conflicted over the fact that she's carrying the child of an Eleven, for example. Anyway, next week should be the penultimate episode, IIRC. It'll be interesting to see who'll survive the massacre and who won't. Place all of your bets now so you can gloat later on. My guess is that Nunnally will be dead. Lelouch thought she's already dead so it won't make much of a difference if she's really dead.

Next week: Kallen tries to kill Lelouch. Will she be dead too?
OMG!! Kallen is gonna try to kill Lelouch. Please don't kill him, I thought you loved him. Please don't die either or else Lelouch will go on another killing spree.
I've completely given up on this series, everything has gone to hell. They lost so much potential for a much better fleshed out series. I no longer care about any of the characters. Except for C.C.
She's the only constant.
I think I'll just follow the blogs from now on.
Thanks for posting Garten!
I thought the premise of this show was a view of a typical storyline from an antagonist's point of view. At least the was the point when Geass started airing. However, in R2, everyone is a bad guy with ulterior motives. WTF. I just watch now to see the train wreck in the end now since the plot is very reminiscent of a VERY bad day time drama.
I vote that Tamaki, Gino, Cornelia (well, Nunnally survived a nuke, who's to say Cornelia won't survive being shot?), Tianzi, Kaguya, Ougi, Villetta, Lelouch, C.C. Suzaku, Nunnally, Kallen, Nina, Schneizel make it out. I'm not sure about everyone else.
This episode was a bit of a positive surprise for me, since I expected something less than what I got, after last week's giving me a very mixed reaction.
The pacing was good to decent, the montage was nice if a little corny, we got a couple of interesting scenes with Lelouch and C.C., and a more strategical battle than the rushed encounters we've seen lately.
The story is definitely overly complicated but not entirely senseless, and I actually do still care about the characters, the main ones who have received some development at least.I could have done with less of the side cast.
Katya: "They lost so much potential for a much better fleshed out series."
Perhaps, but if I were to think about past potential and nothing else, I'd get bored really fast.Still, you have the right to think that way, I'm just saying I would disagree.
people keep complaining that the series has become a trainwreck.
To all those that think so... WHAT should have happened so you guys thought the series doing good?
I just want to know that.
Oh, and according to the extended 30 second preview... Kallen is crying while she is about to kill Lelouch. I don't think CC or Suzaku will arrive on time, but rather Kallen won't be able to do so.
Hopefully Cornelia will somehow inform the world about what Schneizel wants to do.
I just can't understand the stupidness of Ougi, Xingke and Toudou... why the heck are they following a man with FLEIJA?? are they that idiotic? They deserve to be slaves just because of that.
Well Hurruh to the Black Knights, congratulations, you just sided with a mass murdering god-complex hypocrite. A bunch of clowns you are!
The father wanted to kill the gods and create a new world, the son wanted to bring chaos into the world and become a god.
Lelouch only wants to revolutionize the world so that people treat each other better. Lelouch FTW!
I forgot to mention:
The Black Knights are stupid, they need to remember that Lelouch = Zero = The man of a million miracles.
PS: Will someone please go and butcher Villetta and her unborn child. Lousy side-character need to die already.
Darn again forgot to say something:
I don't care how Lelouch rules once he wins, if he wants to be a benevolent ruler and be nice to everyone thats fine with me, if he wants to be a dictator and oppress everyone who went against him, that's also fine with me...because they deserved it.
*Viletta pregnant? WTF?!
*Cornelia...T_T
*Schneizel, first you became Near and now you became Light Yagami?! Srsly, next you know, Schneizel laughs like Light/Kira and then...you know what's next....:)
*Congrats Todo, Ougi and Xingke for being the biggest idiots of the show and for siding a Light Yagami poser who happens to nuke his own country...
Ooooh Schneizel finally completely reveals his true personality. It kinda feels like his mask is slowly falling apart too. I want Nunally to find out that Scheizel massed murdered all the people in Pendragon so she'll go side with Lelouch like she's supposed to. Why didn't she do the hand thing when Scheizel was telling her he evacuated everyone?!
Just like everyone else, I don't really believe that Cornelia is dead. She doesn't seem to have been hit enough. I mean, in season one Lelouch stabbed her really badly and she still survived. And also, she's a military person so she's probably really resilient. I second the notion of her coming back to reveal Schneizel's true plan to the world.
Tamaki is actually useful now...? I guess the writers kept him alive this long just to do that. Or maybe Tamaki really does have more skill than we think... he did manage to survive this many battles...
Xingke is becoming really trusting all of a sudden...? Last time I checked, he didn't really depend on anyone except himself (mostly so he can protect Tianzi) but now he hands the command of the BK over to Schneizel that easily?!
And bah, do the OotBK really trust Schneizel to not FLEJA them after he's done with Lelouch? It's true, without Lelouch the OotBK don't have a brain (they do have lots of fire power though. Fire power that LELOUCH built up).
Oh and this episode was much better than last week's episode. There was actually some kind of development with the characters. If someone only saw this episode in the series they would think this show had a well held together plot.
Also, Nina actually seems sane now. (Maybe that's just because everyone else went insane.) And I think this (I think she's making FLEJA-cancelers) is her redemption. I can't believe the writers actually found a way to redeem Nina. I wonder if they had this planned out from the very beginning.
And Cornelia really turned out to be the only sane person in the Brittanian royal family. Though in reality, the other princes and princesses who got killed could have been sane too but they never got enough screen time for the viewers to find out.
"To all those that think so... WHAT should have happened so you guys thought the series doing good?"
Give the character a development that makes sense. Just because the characters' de-facto leader turns out to be a liar, it doesn't mean that they'll join forces with someone who once made them second rate citizens in their own country (and still planning to do so using nuclear power).
If they can't even handle one plot properly, stop trying to add so many plot into the mix. The writers can't even tell the story of Geass properly and yet they keep adding suplots and twists that don't make sense.
Cornelia T_T!!! That was kind of a disappointing scene. If the writers were going to write her off the show, at least give her a more descent death (like killed in battle or something) =_=; *sigh*
I was wondering during the last episode what was going on when Cornelia went up to Schneizel in Cambodia and there was kind of an uproar going on outside, I guess it must have been Sayoko escaping since Schneizel said that "someone couldn't agree with them anymore."
This episode was much better than the last two or three. I'm actually looking forward to next week ^^. I highly doubt that Kallen will be able to kill Lelouch next episode. If he's going to die, it'll most likely be in the final episode.
One thing that I'm confused about is... when exactly did Villetta get pregnant? Well, I guess there was that one month period when she was with the Black Knights... ... Maybe that was when it happened?
>> One thing that I'm confused about is... when exactly did Villetta get pregnant?
When that ass Ougi decided to use her for sex while she lost her memory, I assume? More reason to hate that dumbass.
There's nothing that will delight me more if Tamaki actually survives the battle while Ougi dies in the most painful way possible.
Didn't even notice the misspelling =_= I meant "decent death" for Cornelia =_=; *sigh* I must be tired today.
About the whole Cornelia being shot/death being so sudden. It did serve a very important purpose of showing that Schnizel is a extreme verision of Lelouch in terms of methods and ideology. He would sacrifice billions of people to attain his vision of world peace. Likewise it means that he will kill and manipulate those close to him if he has too. In short unlike Lelouch, bonds he has with other people don't effect him or his decisions. So even though he (at least from what I can tell) had true affection for Cornelia, it means nothing if she going to stand against him. Also I believe he does cares about his siblings largely due to season one such as how he reacted to the Euphie shooting everyone event and had warm conversations with both Euphie and Cornelia in season one. So while he probably really wanted Cornelia to be alive and on his side, once she went against him, she became another life that needed to be sacrificed. Afterall for him the ends justifies the means so if her and others must die for peace so be it, he will end their lives without showing emotion. Of course Cornelia story was probably not as well explored as it could have been but I blame that like I blame most problems I have with r2 of trying to finsh it all in 25 episodes, really needed to have more.
The black knight siding with Schneizel makes quite a bit of sense. First we need to fully need to understand the black knights thought process. They believe that their leader was manipulating them like pawns and that he likely used geass on them afterall they would never know if he did or not. Also he admited on tape to causing the princess massacre just so that he could continue to use them(of course we know it's lies but then again that's what WE KNOW not them) along with the rest of the evidence and it's no surprise they hate him and want him dead and feel betrayed. The speech about how they were pawns when they confront him didn't help. Schneizel for the most part has not done much too them, save for the whole nuclear bomb thing which they probably in their fit of angry blame on Lelouch since he was informed about it yet said nothing due to him being angsty about Suzaka and Nunally. Also Schneizel would probably returned Japan to them since as long as they are peaceful (don't engage in anymore wars) He will have no need to drop the bomb on them and if they did get out of hand he could keep them in check so just let them run their country as long as they do so that fits his idea of peace. Also Schneizel never made them second rate citizen as he was not the one in power at that time, it was the emperor fault for not caring if his governors are bastards. Schneizel after all did support Euphie's plan for the Japan area. Also lets not forget the UFN thing, Lelouch did take all the leaders hostage so it makes even more sense for the Black knights to hate him. Also they need to ally with Schneizel to stand a chance(and of course the same applies to Schneizel) against lelouch
The wall. The gun came out of the freaking WALL. Oh man, genius Sunrise.
Villeta pregnant?
Ougi being a dad?
When, how, why, did it happen? D:
Damn you schneizel for killing poor Cornelia-sama ! >:3
p.s; I hope Kallen doesn't kill lelouch D;
it'd be funny if Viletta's kid turned out to be Lelouch's LOOOOOOOOOOL
why wasn't Schneizel worried about being hit by a stray bullet? I mean, Cornelia being as thin as she is...
If there's one person I want to stay alive until the very end, its Cornelia. Cornelia was my favorite character and even though her development is a little blah in R2, I'm still very loyal to her.
"why wasn't Schneizel worried about being hit by a stray bullet? I mean, Cornelia being as thin as she is..."
Oh shoot. I almost drench my keyboard with coke thanks to this LOL-worthy comment. But didn't you know that Schneizel's bullet don't hit their master. Yes, those are super bullets that killed Cornelia. Sheesh, seriously Sunrise.
Poor Cornelia....
Kallen vs. Leloch will be epic.
Wonder who dies next?
"Give the character a development that makes sense. Just because the characters' de-facto leader turns out to be a liar, it doesn't mean that they'll join forces with someone who once made them second rate citizens in their own country (and still planning to do so using nuclear power).

Are you a professional writer? Can you do better?
"When that ass Ougi decided to use her for sex while she lost her memory, I assume? More reason to hate that dumbass.

I agree on the Ougi-hate. But that event you mentioned happened one year ago time wise, so it must have happened during that one month.
Think I've got the Villetta pregnant thing figured out. The one month that Cornelia and Schneizel were in hiding in Cambodia, and the time when Charles was pronounced as absent, Villetta was staying with the Black Knights 'cause she chose to stay behind. I have a feeling that during that one month period was when it happened. My theory though.
Something tells me that both Villetta and Ougi are going to live. I don't particularly dislike them. Rather, I kind of see where and why they said or did the things they did. In real life even, people always go by their own interpretations of situations, and with a little push by people around them, they usually choose to act a certain way. So even though I don't particularly like what has happened to the Black Knights, I don't hate either Villetta or Ougi.
@machan
>why wasn't Schneizel worried about being hit by a stray bullet? I mean, Cornelia being as thin as she is...
To tell the truth, there are a lot of things that don't make sense in this series. I've kind of decided to just go along with it. For instance, back a couple episodes ago when Charles was holding onto Lelouch's neck (which I'm assuming he was strangling him), Lelouch was still able to talk without a problem. I mean if someone were strangling me (or even holding my neck like that), I wouldn't be able to talk that clearly. Also, Lelouch being able to put on both contacts with one hand and rather so quickly is quite a feat. I know for a fact, I wouldn't be able to. So yeah, Schneizel not getting hit by a stray bullet -- or even afraid of getting hit by one -- is very understandable by the rules of this series, in my opinion at least ^_^.
"Are you a professional writer? Can you do better?"
I'm not a professional writer but I believe that any new, out-of-college writers can come up with better material than this trainwreck. The plot is so ridiculous now that only the most ridiculously hardcore fans can defend it. I mean a machinegun that pops out when Scneizel snaps his finger? What's the likelihood that there's an accident when someone accidentally clap or cough? Nunnally has problem with Geass but she has no problem with killing off hundreds of people using FLEIA? Talk about OUT OF CHARACTER. Almost every single character becomes increasingly batshit insane (not having consistent characterisation anymore). So to answer your question: Yes. Hell, there are better fanfics out there than this show.
Im not going to have internet for like a month after this =.= (bad grades) so im just going to "place my bets" (please email me if Im right, my email is tenkenshin@netzero.net).
Lelouch may live, Suzaku will probably die, Cecil and Whathisface may die too. Nina is most definitely gonna die (she should even if she did help). Kallen may die, Todou or Chiba(?) is gonna die (but just one of them unless they die together). Diethard is gonna die cuz the underhanded affiliate hoppers always die. Orange may not die (hes part robot but yea) that or he'll die protecting Sayoko since he seemed to admire her "chivalry".
Nunnally will be killed somehow, Schneizel will die (hopefully). Ohgi and the peeps on the bridge wont die since they went through the trouble of saving them 3 eps from the end. That one guy who always lives is gonna die (itll annoy me if he lives). XianXu(sp?) hes gonna die with some of his peeps. Lelouch may choose to save Tiani and the "Mrs Zero" (cant remember her name either).
Uh...who else is there,Cornelia may just be dead, CC cant die yet so shes an X factor...
All the crazy geassed Zero clones will die (duh) and most of the black knight pons will be dead too.
So the Final count will be:
Maybe Lelouch
Maybe Suzaku
Definitely the BK Bridge crew
Maybe Kallen
Either Todou or Chiba (or neither)
Maybe Orange
Most likey Sayoko
Slim chance for Tianzi and Mrs Zero
So yea, I may have missed some since Im rushing to type this but these are who I think will be the winners at the end of R2 (this is subject to change if weird crap starts like Charles and Marianne come back and all this stuff...=.= also if it appears that things will go into a third season ...which will be kinda cool but not great).
so yea :3 Plz let me know if Im right onegai xD
This show is hilarious but what's even more hilarious are the fans who defended it. Keep it up though guys because it brings the LOL for the rest of us.
What I want to know is how Sunrise are planning to top their trainwreck next week: Tamaki turns out to be the one who manages to kill Lelouch? Rivalz turn out to be the mastermind behind it? Too ridiculous you say? How about flying dolphin? No, seriously. There's nothing sacred about this series anymore.
I guess Sunrise finally remembers that Li is supposed to be dying with that shot of blood in hand. It's handy that he's not dying when there's an important battle at hand though. My bet: he'll die during a decisive battle in the next 2 episode.
Personally the story was good first half in the second season then went to hell near the end. The end feels too rushed afterwards and ever since episode 21 its been WTF. The story would actually be okay in my opinion if Schneizel was defeated first before Charles goes geass god killing mode because his Schneizel's plan is pretty anticlimatic. Another alternative I see that would be a improvement is if Schnieizel instead used some sort of ancient geass weapon or God weapon with the Fleija bombs since he was researching what his dad was doing in Season 1 that would have made him a more imposing enemy but it didn't really happen. The story itself would actually be okay if it followed the current plot but explained everything more and wasnt as rushed. If they added maybe 5-10 more episodes in between for the last few episodes to sort of fill all the holes and build up to how things are it would be more understandable instead of super jumps.
goohhhd dammmm all shit is about to break loose cant wait till next ep.
kallen kill lulu pfff please... lulu is prolly gonna gamble on kullen (like he did on suzaku few eps back) to save his sister imo kallen is hot i wanna c her happy b4 the show ends, same for C.C and i hope they both make it ........imo this anime is awsome and if u dont like dont watch it ... not much use complaining .....just respect the writers right to do wtf they want ......
It would be interesting if Lelouch activated his contract with C.C. right as Kallen kills him, much like his father did with V.V. Kallen goes all emo about killing the guy she loves, then freaks out when he comes back to life. Muhuhahaha.
I don't see that actually happening, though. But it seems reasonable that Lelouch might need to play the immortality card before the series ends.
Somehow, I see the resurrection of Charles and Marianne as more likely than the resurrection of Cornelia. Not that either would make any sense, but if I can suspend disbelief as far as the series has already gone, it's no problem to believe Charles could come back somehow.
I'm noticing that Gino and Kallen have almost identical haircuts... I wonder if he could be her "dead" brother.
here is how and when Villetta got pregnant: Ogi and her spent 1 year apart each without getting any at all, so during that 1 month when Lelouch and Suzaku were preparing to take the throne, Ogi and Villetta were doing their version of 30 Days and 30 Nights (not 40 most fortunately). Like rabbits.
LOL LOL
PS: did anyone btw catch on to the hotdog Nina was eating and see Lloyd scream or say something at Cecil? Anyone care to take a good guess as to who probably made the hotdog?
>> I'm noticing that Gino and Kallen have almost identical haircuts... I wonder if he could be her "dead" brother.
XD I haven't been able to stop laughing after seeing the episode. But wow, I'd laugh even harder if that turns out to be the case.
>> Ogi and Villetta were doing their version of 30 Days and 30 Nights (not 40 most fortunately). Like rabbits.
I guess Villetta really hates Ougi so much that she decides to boink him again and again and again....without protection too.
What will be even better if Tianzi suddenly gets SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Age Syndrome) and suddenly becomes older chinese hottie so that she and Xingke can be legal couple.
>> I guess Villetta really hates Ougi so much that she decides to boink him again and again and again....without protection too.
Yeah she wanted him to run out of energy and die LMAO
"Meanwhile, Sayako informs Diethard that Schneizel had a separate escape craft as a decoy and the one that got destroyed was the decoy."
IIRC, wasn't she informing Orange instead??
this episode was good give a 7out of 10 cornelia gettin killed shows that people like schneizel would do anythin for power besides if someone comes at you with sword won,t you protect yourself? and that was what he did. who knows she probably isn,t dead maybe he missed her vital parts because by the time u see the next episode on sunday she might be alive but wounded cuz Code Geass is full of suprises as for kallen she is a soldier u can,t really blame her for wantin to kill her former leader besides he is guilty of betrayal and murder people don,t like been used by other people its only makes more sense for the black knights to side with schneizel against lelouch both of the main characters have different personalities . nunally who has been kept in the dark all this time finally realizes what her brother had done but we all know schneizel didn,t tell her the whole truth it is now left for nunally to uncover the truth about her family lies, no one likes been lied to.i just hope the zero requeim is for a good cause last comment , pls to those that believe this series has gone sour for u pls stop watchin , and makin yurself feel bad there other series to watch right ,trainwreck or no trainwreck the series has been a blast whether it was rushed or not they did a good job sometimes things don,t go has you plan it maybe this was the case with this series but overall its good important characters get killed pff numerous times even if they were important if they wanted any important character to die(cornelia, shirley, euphy, charles , rolo, and the list goes on) they have very right to do so . so pls watch sumthin else if the show is that disappointin.
Where can i download/watch? :D
Satisfying Deathlist:
- Charles (already died yay!)
- Marianne (She also dead yay!)
- Schneizel (Cant stand him anymore)
- Nunnally (Marianne in-training)
- Ouhgi (Baka thinks he could accomplish anything without lelouch)
- Toudou (see Oughi..Kallen was a much better fighter anyway)
- Chiba and Viletta (just to spite Toudou and Ouhgi Xp)
Furthermore:
Suzaku rocked in this episode!!!
Kallen is pretty lost now...Her only wanting to kill lelouch proves that
C.C cant just be messed up anymore...glad she's back to her old self ^-^
Lelouch...altough he's not who he used to be in s1...it cant be helped anymore (hey atleast he got rid of the ridiculous third-eye hat)
Xing-ke just cant replace Lelouch...he just looks too much last minute xD (maybe thats because he only got so much screentime)
Heh... better fanfiction out there huh? I always find it hilarious when people say this. They never try to write something better than the supposed 'trainwreck' and point out a non-canon story not written by them which shows what they want... Lelouch being a pimp, Suzaku dieing, Kallen x CC action etc.
Nothing wrong about not liking a plot, but please... believing you can do better and then deviate attention by pointing out someone elses fanfiction is dumb. Try to write a plot to see if you really can make something better. Nothing is original this days.
This was a decent episode in many ways, but really I think it's too little too late. The defining elements of the show for me in the first season was the mystery of Marianne's death, what exactly the purpose of GEASS was, and Lelouch creating a world Nunnally could live in peacefully. The first of these two elements are basically footnotes now and everything that has happened since has just felt anti-climactic. There's still the element of Lelouch wanting to create Nunnally's ideal world, but Nunnally herself has gone off the rails so I don't even know what the point is anymore. I don't care what Schneizel's plans or motivations are, I don't care what Suzaku and Lelouch are trying to do, and I find myself thinking that having the series end with every single named character dead would be just fine.
When the best defense a show has is, "well, can you do any better?", that's a surefire sign that it's a trainwreck. Events this season have occurred in an almost discrete manner, with no logical flow or connections. Characters act with little regard to their past characterization. There is practically no unifying theme to the show anymore. Most of the characters have become utterly unsympathetic (I guess Kallen still counts, but I'm really struggling to come up with anyone else). It's pretty amazing to me.

Precisely. The only reason the dumb fans use this kind of defense is because there's nothing in the plot that can be used for defense. There's no shred of intelligence, plot threads, consistent characterization, or logical action/reaction in the actual show. Everything is done purely for shocks whether it makes sense or not.
The logic of the fans is similar to Uwe Boll (the director of crappy movies like Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead) asking the critics if they can write better than him, which is ridiculous because just because you can't write, it doesn't mean you don't know what's good and what's steaming pile of dung.
@Eradium, walviss:
CG had always and still has a very good plot. Youre just too trainwrecked yourself to not see this.
And the Characters act just like in reality, with great stupitdy, without logic or sense. So why do critisize this?
Can you two just please die or never get on internet again? All the other people would be happy. kkthxbye
Yeah Im still defending CG, the Plot, the Characters and everything else. Who doesnt think so is just not right.
"CG had always and still has a very good plot. Youre just too trainwrecked yourself to not see this."
LOLOLOL
"And the Characters act just like in reality, with great stupitdy, without logic or sense. So why do critisize this?"
Wow. Is this how you see life? You're boldly trying to claim that in reality people actually act stupidly and without logic? Sure, keep telling yourself that if it makes you happy but it's pretty sad that you actually think that characters in this show behave like people in real life. You need to go out more if that's the case.
yeah I people I met in live are just stupid and not acting logically, in every land I was, in every job I was, just everywhere.
Thats just how humanity is.
@FlyTaggart
Try spell checker. And oh, your life sounds really sad. You either need to get out of whatever backwater town you're in or maybe because the kind of attitude that you have (You're right, everyone else is wrong), you only get to meet that kind of people. The fact that you say horrible things about people that you've met in life ("people I met in liFe are just stupid and not acting logically"), which includes your family and friends, say a lot about yourself.
Is there going to be a sequel to Code Geass R2?
@Alphaes: the main writer of the show, Ichiro Okouchi, finished his script and stated that it's not "end of season" or "to be continued" but it is really finished. And btw, read this blog:
http://koshimizu.livejournal.com/
I just found out in the official website that Cornelia is not listed dead (yet)….so, she’s probably injured and held in captive by Schneizel…..only change made in the chart is Sayako joining Lelouch’s faction but her picture is shaded dark probably because she’s injured or the guy who updated the website is lazy to fix it…..
http://geass.jp/correlative.html
@Eradium: stop bitching everyone here in this blog. If you hate this show, get out of here, you ********
oh yeah, in China, they banned Code Geass because it didn’t passed the censorship regulations. It’s pretty obvious, right? since China is a communist country or ………….China found out that Sunrise is trainwrecking their country in the series IMO
Link 1
Link 2
@Eradium: and P.S., you really a jerk for attacking people personally. Also, leave those who are trying to watch and enjoy the show. We have different opinions about this show so just let the fans watch the show.
@Maki
LOL @ you. If you can't stand the heat, then don't post on a blog acting like everyone who doesn't like something is wrong. You'll get a reply for me for being a know-it-all. Also, the last time I check, you're not the owner of this blog.
Also, I wasn't the one who said that "people I met in liFe are just stupid and not acting logically". If you see someone saying that on the net, what other conclusion can one draw apart from the fact that the person in question does not value the people they've met in his/her life?
Maki, please use the normal linking method (instead of just pasting the URL directly) if you post long links so the link doesn't break the layout of the site. Thanks for the link though.
Everyone else, please talk about the content of the story and not someone else's comment on it. You'll always find someone who dislike the show or will criticise part of it. You're not going to convince each other by arguing in heated manner.
So stop saying "Everyone who doesn't like this is stupid" or "Everyone who likes this is an idiot", etc. Once you start with either one, of course someone is going to be offended and replying back. Accept the fact that not everyone will like your favorite show and conversely, that some people will like a show that you consider not up to your standard.
ahhh.. not much of a great episode.
i guess they need some kind of mellow time before a huge disaster ending? (i hope)
but i thought i wouldve been left off with a nice cliffhanger.
seems like this is about wrapped up.
AGAIN with the strand of the theme how the world has no idea WTF is going on and takes up the wrong action.
lolol i honestly thought Ohgi falcon punched her saying "i dont want to involve new life into this kind of world"
I hope that only these people survive at the end of the series:
1. C.C (although if she wants to die, I guess we have to respect that wish).
2. Kallen
3. Cornelia
4. Milly
5. Rivalz
6. Orange-kun
7. Sayako
8. Laksharta
9. Sumeragi
10. Tianzi
I was going to include Nunnally but her action in this episode pissed me off that I want her to die. Why does she think Lelouch is wrong in using Geass but doesn't think how wrong it is to use FLEIA on innocent civilians?
@Garten: thanks for the reminder and tell that to Eradium...I'm just here to watch the show.... I was wondering which of the main character will survive since Lelouch and Suzaku both have their death flags raised....
Anyway, this is from Kalessin, a poster from another Code Geass blog who expresses his opinion about the developement of the series:
"Well, I find it rather sad that so many people think that this show is going downhill, becoming a trainwreck, etc. But everyone has different expectations and different things that they think are good. There have been a lot of episodes this season where a number of people thought that the episode was horrible and others thought that it was the best one ever. However, what’s really sad about the situation (though it probably shouldn’t be all that surprising I suppose) is how so many of us seem to be just shouting at each other and calling each idiots and insulting others for their opinions and then the ones who were insulted insult those who insulted them, etc.
Code Geass certainly isn’t perfect and we all have different opinions about what’s good and bad about it, but I certainly wish that we could be more civil when discussing it."
I didn't read the rest of the comments, tl;dr, so if any of this has already been mentioned, so be it.
My predictions for these last two episodes would be as follow (in no particular order btw):
- Nice battle scenes between Kallen and Suzaku and maybe Gino/Li/Anya v/s C.C. on her pink lancelot and Jeremiah or whatever, plenty of eye candy, though none of them should die from this (maybe Jeremiah).
- On a very dire moment, C.C. gives/forces her immortality on Lelouch so that he can survive (maybe to an already wounded and dying Lulu), has one last tender moment with him (they should kiss and Lulu should be willing this time) and then dies with a smile on her face as Lulu calls her by her real name.
- As Schneizel said in the end of this last episode, there’s no victory for the one who can’t keep his mask on. Therefore, his “evil” plan will be somehow revealed to the world, (probably thx to a combination of not so death Cornelia and Lulu) making the remaining OtBKs leave him.
- Cornered, Schneizel will start firing FLEIAs like mad all around. Maybe Toudo or someone else will sacrifice himself to destroy the lower part of Damocles (we see Toudo flying to attack the fortress on the op.) leaving it open to an attack, though this isn’t really necessary. Lulu will have one last conversation with Schneizel and will doubt to use his own improved FLEIA or FLEIA shield (whatever Nina is creating right now) on Damocles to destroy it, but at the last moment Cornelia escapes with Nunally and Schneizel (along with Canon and Diethard) gets to die by his own methods.
Epilogue (hopefully a few years later):
- Nunally is crowned queen of Britannia and with Suzaku at her side as her personal knight, rebuilds the empire to be a better place, truly joining the UFN (with all the death people from the capital, they no longer have the majority of votes), bringing Lulu’s wish from R1 full circle (that is, creating a peaceful world where Nunally can live happily and with Suzaku at her side to protect her). They are likely going to marry.
- Suzaku creates a new group of knights of rounds, probably composed of Cornelia, Anya, Gino and Kallen. If Jeremiah survives, he will probably join them too. Sayoko may be here too, taking care of Nunally on Lulu’s behalf. Gino x Kallen is also a likely couple.
- Li lives too see Tianzi (now either around 15 years old or an adult) become the true ruler of China, then dies from his illness. Kaguya stays at the head of Japan with the surviving OtBKs helping her out (some of them could have died giving Lulu the last moments he needed to achieve something, doesn’t make much of a difference), if Toudo survived, he may have married Chiba, Tamaki is also likely to live and Ougi, if he lives, will probably be a teacher once again and have retired somewhere quiet, living in peace with Villeta and their child.
- Laksharta will probably join Cecile and Lloyd (tough still maintaining their rivalry) and be the ones responsible for the technology of the UFN. Cecile may have finally married Lloyd, tough that’s irrelevant.
- Milly and Rivalz will live, with Rivalz marrying either Milly or Nina. Nina will still have nightmares haunting her for what FLEIA did, but is still likely to survive and put her knowledge to the good of humanity to (try to) redeem herself.
- Finally, the now immortal Lulu will either: seal himself inside what’s left of the sword of akasha and then have the others completely destroy the thought elevators scattered around the world, so that no one can ever again have access to the power of the geass, bearing the curse of immortality by himself (which would really suck as an ending) or simply will retire from public life and disappear completely, creating a new geass directorate to investigate a way to rid him of his immortality while at the same time, keeping watch on the world and peace from the shadows.
And I think that’s it. Of course, there’s plenty of wishful thinking here, as I don’t really want this series to end in a complete and absolute trainwreck as most people seem to be prophesying, however I have also taken into account most of what has happened so far. Also, if grammar or spelling suck and something doesn’t make much sense, all I can say in defense is that english is not my first language.
I dont really think CC is the only one left to give People a Geass. Who knows maybe there are about 100 Geaass users in the world and 50 immortals.
Not every immortal or geass user wants to do something big.
I’m guessing this will happen if Schneizel fires multiple FREIJA missiles on the whole world. Just ignore the part of Keanu Reeves being on a lie detector test until 0:54
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_bNDv0-ZrU
- btw, this is the trailer of 2008 movie version of The Day the Earth Stood Still which stars Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connolly
@FlyTaggart
Then wouldn't that have meant there were easily more choices to activate the Sword of Akasha? Since V.V. died they chose C.C.
@Serenade
I love your predictions on Lelouch and C.C. it would be nice if that happens. However I don't like the rest. :)
But still a trainwreck ending would be best for me. :D
@Serenade: only prediction I don't like is the Gino x Kallen one. I prefer her with Lelouch... Lol.
About the trainwreck... yes. Anybody is free to like and dislike a series. I would not be fun if we always agreed. hell, arguing is fun.
What it is not fun is not giving arguments. Saying: "to die because you don't like my series" or saying "the 'can you do better card is for stupid people".
Seriously... what I want to know is... if a series has truly dissapointed you... why are you still watching? I usually delete a series when it starts boring me... El Cazador de la Bruja, Lucky Star, Air, Soul Eater. I can name many. But I won't go and post 1000 reasons why it failed to attract my attention nor insulting those that like it.
Things are going exactly the way i thought ... well maybe not. but who cares?
Who's to say that if Schneizel doesn't die, there will be another season.
"Seriously... what I want to know is... if a series has truly dissapointed you... why are you still watching? "
Huh? It's none of your business, is it? It's called "free will", check it on dictionary.
But since you're asking, I'll answer: it's called having fun laughing AT the series. I don't think the series offers good narrative and reasonable development but it doesn't mean I can't get enjoyment out of laughing at the silly things the series presented, especially since the series intent on going hyperbole on its silliness (the whole "Oh Geass No!", humping table things, etc).
Put it this way: I used to watch Melrose Place even though I knew it was trash tv. Why did I watch it? Because it's fun laughing at the crappy/silly plotline the show came up with. Code Geass is similar to Melrose Place in terms of campiness and its trashiness.
What it is not fun is not giving arguments. Saying: "to die because you don't like my series" or saying "the 'can you do better card is for stupid people".
RyougaZell, the whole "can you do better?" is so cliche and kind of pathetic. It's the kind of argument that people who can't come up with other argument. People do have the ability to dislike a show even when they can't write better. It's similar to a person's ability to tell if they like a movie or not even though they may not be able to direct one themselves. Obviously you don't like some series yourself. So what makes you think they are bad series? Can you do better?
You started the whole argument by being combative and asked if those who don't like the show "can write better". What kind of question is that? Of course most people don't have the ability to write but it doesn't mean they can't tell what's good or what's not according to their taste. In my case, I keep posting the reason why the series is not up to scratch because I'm frustrated that the series is not as good as it could have been. You don't like it? Though luck! Don't read the negative comments.
@RyougaZell
The reason people watch the series even though they are annoyed by it is probably because they've spent not one or two episodes but an entire 2 seasons waiting, hoping that maybe, just maybe, the series will turn out to be good. They had to do this since this is the kind of series where the development does not happen until late into the series.
When the show turned south this season, some people have no choice but to continue following it just to see the end and draw whatever they can out of it. In this case, it seems most people opt to laugh at the show. I don't understand why you're butthurt about it since you're not even the creator of the series.
As for this episode, I'm actually disappointed that it's not as outrageous as I thought it'd be. If the writers want this show to be a trainwreck type of series, then they should go all the way. I'm saying this because it's the ridiculousness of the series that makes it stands out from other bad series.
@Ahlun:
Thats why I wrote "Not every immortal or geass user wants to do something big". With that sentence I wanted to say that they just haven't been recognized as immortals or Geass Users.
Maybe they just didn't know that there were more immortals. They just knew that V.V. and C.C. were immortal.
For those naysayers who claim they could write a better show than this..
Just reference the Suzumiya Haruhi episode 00 - "Adventures of Mikuru Asahina - Bunny Girl"
That is exactly how their trainwreck would be. A convoluted story with more plot holes than anything and one which makes no damn sense.
Haruhi thought she could WRITE and DIRECT a better movie than anyone else and so these idiots think they can write better.
So if you can do better, write something, animate it and do it or shut the hell up. Seriously!
Oh but then again who made this show? People with skill! People who have written successful shows!
OMG.. What a concept!
Lord Khyron, you're comparing the most over-the-top episode of Haruhi with real life? Most students film while not ambitious have motifs and themes and usually are pretty good in their simplicity. Instead of using anime as example, why don't you go out there and visit local student/independent film festival? This is the place where many new talents are often discovered. Of course, there'll be drecks there as well but that's where the talents are separated from the bad ones.
As for this series, just because a person can't write or direct a movie, it doesn't make them less of a critic. If you go to a restaurant and order a food, most people would be able to tell if a food is good or not. If the food is not good, they usually complain or tell others that the food is not good at the restaurant. But can you cook better than the restaurant? If not, then don't complain about the food and open your own restaurant! See, how idiotic your statement is? And as someone said before, you must have shows that you don't like. What gives you the right to think those shows are bad? Why don't you make one yourself instead?
@Illyria:
Okay. You give points why you think the series went bad. That I applaud. Most people here only say: "trainwreck" and don't give an argument of why it is one.
Ok, my argument of 'can you do better' was not good. But what argument can you give to someone who only says trainwreck with no arguments? Unlike you.
Things were planned, its not like they did not have a plan, despite the director saying he had to change things. He had to, yes, but he also followed his plan.
Things mentioned from season 1 mentioned on the 'trainwrecked episodes' (my point of view)
- CC saying you need to discard things precious -> Charles discarding Lelouch and Nannally
- Ougi doubting Zero since he found Viletta on S1.
- CC talking with Marianne -> Marianne being 'alive through geass'
- Manipulative Schneizel -> Telling Euphie what to do.
Etc. So yes... my arguments. You post yours of why you think its bad and its plausible. Just not just say 'trainwreck' like most here.
The argument 'there are better fanfiction out there' is the worst. Even worst than my 'can you do better' WHICH came as response to the fanfiction one.
@Eradium:
Thankfully I have a job, friends, 4 consoles and a life that consumes enough time that I only watch show I like, and not those I dislike.
Currently I just watch One Piece, Code Geass and Xam'd.
correction to myself:
my 'can you do better' did in fact not come in response to the fanfiction one. apologies on last post.
but yes... it does better on that front.
Most people here only say: "trainwreck" and don't give an argument of why it is one.
Of course, they have a reason and the reason is probably a variation of it's not providing them with the kind of logical plot that they probably expect/it's not met their standard, etc. I don't think they're obliged to give you any reason for disliking something.
Ok, my argument of 'can you do better' was not good. But what argument can you give to someone who only says trainwreck with no arguments?"
You must have a bad memory but thankfully this blog keeps a list of how things started. You started by asking what kind of recommendation can those who don't like can give to the series and when I provided that argument, you countered that with a cheap "can you write better?". And you're actually the one who referred to the series as a trainwreck in the first place (maybe your subconscious actually believe that despite your piehole blabbing otherwise). Here's YOUR QUOTE:
People keep complaining that the series has become a trainwreck. To all those that think so... WHAT should have happened so you guys thought the series doing good?
To which, I responded nicely by listing possibilities, which of course you countered with "Can you write better"?
Thankfully I have a job, friends, 4 consoles and a life that consumes enough time that I only watch show I like, and not those I dislike.
And yet, you have enough time to bitch about someone who doesn't like the show. If you really have a 'life', like you suggested, you wouldn't even be bitching about people who don't like the series in the first place, would you?
I was just checking on wikipedia again for the 1000th time to see if there was any new *spoilers* for the next episode since I am worried about Kallen's fate (I want her to become Lelouch's wife and the next empress of britannia) and I remembered something that had been bothering me about the entire series:
WHY THE FK are there different directors for each episode? MAYBE if there had been 1 consistent director for the entire series from the beginning the show would've been better.
PS: I'm also wondering something: a person who has 4 consoles claims to have a 'life' and 'friends'? Hmm sounds like a 'simulated' life and 'simulated or imaginary' friends to me rather than reality.
WHY THE FK are there different directors for each episode? MAYBE if there had been 1 consistent director for the entire series from the beginning the show would've been better.
Wow, 3 directors per episode? Talk about having too many cooks in the kitchen. That kind of explains why some episodes have half school comedy, half war drama, and half geass-related story. Maybe they thought it's a good idea to have different director for different segments but I agree that it's just fragmenting the episode.
Piyoko, some episodes had more than 1 director, as for others, 1 director for 1 episode, another director for another episode so on... I haven't thoroughly counted but I think there have been at least 6-8 different directors working for the entire Code Geass series.
Also I think that if some of the shenanigan episodes (which did nothing more than provide a few eye candies or laughs) had been dropped, there would've be more time for a story which was consistent and better developed. It's not like we needed to see Viletta in that skimpy swimsuit at the school festival or see the females of ashford try to capture lelouch wearing rubber buttocks on their heads.
lol, ep 24 has negative deaths
