I still haven't fully recover from the nasty flu/cough combo so I'm afraid I'm just going to resort to bullet points for summary. I'm sorry about this but this is as much as I can come up with the remaining energy I have left at the moment. Anyway, I'm surprised at how a few mere months are all that it takes to decrease my interest in the series. I mentioned before how I can't feel that much attachment to any of the characters. This turned out to become a slight problem when I watched the finale. I mean, here we have the characters dropping left and right like flies and I can't seem to care at all. I think there's something wrong with a series where I can't seem to care if a character lives or dies. I am interested to know more about C.C's past but if she were to die as well, I don't think it will bother me at all.
Episode 24
- Orangey is shown with some kind of weird device all over his body. Despite being emo, he immediately perks up when Zero announces his name over the microphone.
- When Cornelia is about to attack Zero, she finds out that Area 11 crumbles like a cheap jigsaw puzzle that a toddler puts together. Don't these people check their defense system before going commando?
- Cornelia is about to face off with Toudou but no-fun, spoil sport geek called Guildford wants to take the fame by fighting for her. Cornelia approves so Guildford dish out the lamest "Yes, your highness" he can muster.
- The Black Knights take over the school. Zero tries to assure the scared student council members that he can assure the safety of everyone here. His real purpose, however, is to protect Nanaly.
- When Rivalz still doesn't believe Zero, Karen steps in and reveals her traitorous face. Everyone can't believe this, especially Shirley. The two get into a catfight and end up pushing each other into a pool. Oh wait, ignore that last sentence.
- Emo Suzaku wants a piece of Zero after hearing V.V's explanation about Geass and its power. At the same time, Villetta comes to the same conclusion and is outraged that she had to sleep with a peasant like Ougi.
- Karen dukes it out with Suzaku, lost, but is saved at the last minute by Zero. Zero is about to fight with Suzaku, causing the student council members to think that their fight could lead to destruction of the school. However, they don't have to worry because Laksharsta manages to stop Lancelot using the same trick they used the last time around.
- Ougi is reunited with Villetta, but the later has regained her memories this time around. She shoots Ougi in the gut but maybe peasant sex wasn't so bad after all since the wound is not fatal.
- Cornelia manages to corner and pounce on Zero's Gawain. However, at the last minute Zero activates his control on Darlton, causing the general to assassinate his own master. Zero then roast Darlton to death as a thank you.
- Nanaly is visited by V.V, who claims that he's there to pick her up. She should have told him that she doesn't talk to stranger, especially unknown boys.
Episode 25
- Zero reveals his true self to a dying Cornelia. The two spat at each other until Lelouch decides to just Geass Cornelia to get the truth. Cornelia reveals that she didn't kill Marianne. In fact, it was Marianne who asked her to let the security leave.
- Cornelia reveals that the Emperor should know who killed her. Schneizel was also the one who moved Marianne's remains inside a coffin.
- All of a sudden, C.C tells Zero that his sister has been kidnapped and taken to Kaminejima. Before Zero can leave the place, however, Orange-kun comes out with a stupid-looking round frame.
- Orange-kun immediately have complex when Zero calls him "Orange" and begs Zero to die. Hmm, I think that only works when you are the Princess of Britannia and have tons of army on your disposal.
- While evading Orange-kun, Zero finds out that Ougi has been shot and that Nanaly has disappeared. Woot! How was your day?
- In order to save the student council members, Suzaku decides to get out of his frame. At the last minute, however, his ass is saved by Lloyd. Lloyd and Laksharsta glare at each other before they have mad, passionate sex. Oh wait, wrong again.
- Zero tells Ougi that he bails out of the battle for some R&R at this island called Kaminejima. Everyone is shocked to hear this since nothing spells "sinking ship" (or sinking frame in this case) like a leader who abandons the squad.
- Suzaku hears an order from dying Cornelia. She tells him about Zero and officially knights the guy before telling him to go and bite Zero's ass. Just like any other guard dogs, Suzaku dutifully goes "Yes, your highness" on Cornelia, no question asked.
- Moe Japanese princess, that annoying Brit announcer, and that temperamental Japanese man are shocked to know that Zero has bailed out on them. Karen is ordered by Ougi to go after Zero and saved him and everyone's dream.
- In the midst of all the fun, craaazyy Nina comes out with Ganymede and enough Sakuradite to destroy the entire Tokyo settlement. Nina then asks people in that crazy-ass tone where she can find Zero to avenge Euphemia. Oh Nina, you're always so slow and so late.
- Zero and C.C have arrived at Kaminejima island before they can have some sun and surf, however, they've been mentally attacked by some kind of sound wave. As a result, Zero ends up seeing bits of C.C's pasts, which seem a lot more interesting than what's happening in the present. What is she? Joan of Arc?
- After the flashback calms down, they are being attacked by Orangey again. C.C decides to lower Zero down so he can look for Nanaly while she faces off against Orangey. She also manages to give this one awkward kiss to Zero. You can draw your own conclusion from Zero's face.
- Back in Tokyo, the Black Knight feels abandoned by Zero. I feel sorry for the Moe princess. The rest, not so much.
- Before Zero can find Nanaly, he's confronted by that pesky Suzaku again. Suzaku reveals that he knows about Geass and asks Karen (who's been following him) if she'd like to know the man behind Zero.
- Suzaku shoots the mask, revealing Lelouch. Karen is devastated. Well, sometimes our imagination is indeed, more powerful and better than the reality. Lelouch tries to distract Suzaku with another "Let's save Nanaly" but Suzaku decides to not play that game.
- Lelouch has another plan. The "Let's blow us all using Sakuradite" plan. The first season ends with Lelouch and Suzaku facing off against one another.
Impression:
Psycho Suzaku is an annoying Suzaku. It's hard to believe that it happened but he actually got trapped using the same system again. Ougi being shot by Villeta was inevitable but unfortunate because I was hoping for a more conflicted Villeta. I guess romance is not on the card for these two? I like how Cornelia is finished by none other than her loyal guard, Darlton. To add insult to the injury, Zero dispatched Dalton as soon as he went pass his expiry date. The revelation that Cornelia wasn't the one who killed Marianne wasn't surprising at all. I actually wonder if Marianne actually orchestrated the murder herself. I mean, this wouldn't be the first story where the mother encourages the son to be stronger by giving that son the shock of his life. In other note, it's annoying how the entire Black Knights falls apart just because Zero left them. Does that mean they were not that strong in the first place? Do they just rely on Zero?
At the same time, it's awfully convenient for V.V to just appear and take Nanaly away. Also, can't Zero wipes out the entire fleet before leaving his comrade high and dry? In the same vein, if Lelouch really cares about his sister, the first thing he do before anything else is to send his sister away to a place that no one else will know. Moving along, the best part of these two parter is actually C.C's little flashback scenes. I have to say that I don't find all of the mecha battle to be that interesting since the mecha are more robotic than organic. However, C.C's story has an air of mystery to it, something that is completely different from the overwrought political talk of the story. On a glance, she seems to be either a re-incarnation of Joan of Arc or maybe Joan of Arc herself. I hope that if the second season returns, there are less of political talks and more character-based drama. I am also glad that the writers have trimmed down the excess character counts and hope they're not planning to add more.
Loved both episodes and i can't wait till Season 2. That being said i don't think theres any relationship between CC and Joan of Arc. The only thing they have similar is being burned alive for being a witch.
Greetings Garten, sorry to hear about your cold. I hope you get better best wishes.
"At the same time, it's awfully convenient for V.V to just appear and take Nanaly away. Also, can't Zero wipes out the entire fleet before leaving his comrade high and dry?"
Well, V.V pretty mysterious Character with hidden movties and he's actually the reason Lulu, Kallen, Suzaku and Euphie ended up on same the same island their on right now back in ep 19.
I think in his case he didn't much of a choice not to mention he was painced besides he had already taken out Areial Fleet which what he was supposed to do anyway.
"In the same vein, if Lelouch really cares about his sister, the first thing he do before anything else is to send his sister away to a place that no one else will know."
But, would have people asking questions not to mention he have to explain himself to the student counsil, Nunnally, and the Ashfords who are basically holding them as political prisoners. It's not like he could have predicted someone like V.V existance to come into play.
"it's annoying how the entire Black Knights falls apart just because Zero left them. Does that mean they were not that strong in the first place? Do they just rely on Zero?"
They fell apart more due the to fact Zero was the overall militany commander who just left and on one could fill the position.
Ohgi; the second in- command after Zero is heavily injured.
Todou; is too busy fighting Guildford and facing unexpected resistance from the Glastons Knight.
Diehardt; Only knows how to worked media communications and information, and can't adapt to militany situations.
There is no one overseer of all operations and making sure they come together. Lets not forget that aside from Todou's group and some of the other resistance gruops alot of BK were civilians until a year ago.
i need >_<
I actually liked the ending a lot but yea I can see how u can't seem to feel attachment to some of the characters because it is kinda hard with so much stuff going on, so many different view points, and so many different characters. I actually like some of the characters tho I like Millay, Lakshata, and Cornelia.
I wrote a post pointing out the absurdity of Lulu's chain of command, but the point is that the Black Knights lacked capable lower level commanders that could take over if something were to happen to Lulu. However Lulu never did train a corp of officers or NCOs. Its hardly surprising that things fell apart given that Lulu was a micro-manager. A soldier no matter how dedicated and trained cannot win a war on elan alone. Modern warfare requires officers and NCOs that can take the initiative because they have a better grasp of the situation than a commander at the field HQ. The people Lulu put in charge showed just how much contempt he had for the enemy, a propagandist and a loli? WTF?
I hope Cornelia lives through this one, it'd be a shame if she did not. Too bad Cornelia could not put Lulu in his place, but such is Geass. Even if she can't rack up victories like Lulu at least she proved to be a better organizer and flexible commander, hence why her men are still fighting and not despairing while in the fight. War is a matter of expedients, hence Zero cannot be every where at once. He does not have the time to look for a fleet in the middle of the pacific ocean, even now the sea is a big place can you can still hide a whole fleet in it. Too bad Lulu never sent his sub to monitor the Britannian Pacific Fleet if he had he may have done as you wished. However time is a very precious thing, I doubt Lulu thought that the had much time to do both.
If Lulu gave that much a damn about Nunnaly then he could have let Kallen babysit her. All Kallen did was lose miserably again. As for C.C. being Joan of Arc that seems like a bit of stretch, sure she was burned at the stake, but I don't recall a armored up C.C. or her leading a groups of troops.
I wished Tamaki had dies, he's so annoying and hardly gets anything done. the only th\ing he is good at is being a Zero fanboy.
The production company of Code Geass said they will announce on the official site if they are plan to make 2nd series. However they haven't made the clame.
But honestly, by just to look at the those last 2 episodes, I bet they are.....
Hi garten,
In fact, this is the first time I write a comment.
I'm just a person who always comes by and enjoy reading your summaries and impressions.
And I'm just wondering that...is there any chance of you posting Baccano series..?
I'm sorry to ask such a question though I understand how you are suffering from your currnet condition.
But I don't intend to pressure you...It's just that i want to hear your answer about it.
And I feel really sorry about your cold, hope you feel better soon! Take care.
The couple months of down time for this series killed any and all momentum it had.
The last 2 episodes seem like they dont even connect with the well thought out strategy that the final battle in episode 23 was leading me to expect. I thought it was going to end up with Cornelia dead / killer revealed and Zero in control of Japan ready to take on Britain. This episode was just chaos.
Orange coming out of no where back in 22 or 23 didnt seem to serve any purpose. They could have used any number of things to distract Zero from the final battle instead of bringing him back from nowhere.
I always liked CC, so this was a nice episode pack to see a little more on her past. Still dont know much about her though. Wish Zero wasnt gay though. The kiss probably would have meant something.
The army falling apart made no sense either. Zero wiped out the entire air force in a huge circle strafe before fighting Cornelia. That left some ground forces and a building with some turrets to take down. Most of the enemy ground forces were "purged" as well. So what was causing all the problems? Even their main commander Cornelia was out of it. Togo (sp?) was the miracle maker and an incredible tactician last time I checked. What the hell happened that he cant command anyone anymore? And they even set up a command post at the school and apparently left no one at the wheel to give out intel, even with the pyscho girl there.
I also find it impossible to believe that Suzaku actually had any idea whatsoever that Lulu was Zero. The guy is denser then rock. And why would Kallen care if he was a Britanian? The guy has been rock solid ass kicker of all things Britain since day one and now shes all upset hes not an 11? Good to see shes a complete racist. Or is that nationalist? I dont think being British is a race, but English fails me right now as to describe her idiocy.
Season 2 has a lot of work cut out for it to turn this mess around. I expect Nunally to be a Gaess user from V.V.. Probably use that manga version of her.
Crusader: I agree mostly what you said, however, I think the situation wouldn't have been so dire if Ohgi had not been out of comission and Zero had let more people in on more details of his plans so they could follow through. The Glaston Knights showing up only added more problems.
He also need Kallen out there to back him up as she is part of his defense force, besides Kallen was on par with Suzaku last time they met. Nunnally was protected OoBK, V.V appearing just **** up, and there was know way he could have known that.
"The last 2 episodes seem like they dont even connect with the well thought out strategy that the final battle in episode 23 was leading me to expect."
But it was for the most part. Only orange showing up, along Nunnally getting kidnapped by V.V is when everything went downhill. There know no way Lulu could have been prepared for that.
"I thought it was going to end up with Cornelia dead / killer revealed and Zero in control of Japan ready to take on Britain. This episode was just chaos. "
After this battle Japan would be no shape to take on them as they would still be recovering from damages, among others things. Holding Corneila hostage and allying themselves with CF would be a much better idea to keep Britannia off their backs for bit.
"Orange coming out of no where back in 22 or 23 didnt seem to serve any purpose. They could have used any number of things to distract Zero from the final battle instead of bringing him back from nowhere."
True for the most part, except we knew he was coming back as a couple of episodes kept talikng about him. He does apparently some connection with what Britannia scienists were doing to C.C with him, we just don't know what.
"Wish Zero wasnt gay though. The kiss probably would have meant something."
Zero isn't gay and I liked kiss "shrug".
"The army falling apart made no sense either. Zero wiped out the entire air force in a huge circle strafe before fighting Cornelia. That left some ground forces and a building with some turrets to take down. Most of the enemy ground forces were "purged" as well."
When there no one coordiate an army of course it will fall apart, and we don't know how many of Corneila's forces were lost in the purged,.
"So what was causing all the problems? Even their main commander Cornelia was out of it."
Corneila's army does not know that and her troops are better organzied than OoBK and a bunch of rebel who just join up in ep 23.
"Togo (sp?) was the miracle maker and an incredible tactician last time I checked. What the hell happened that he cant command anyone anymore?"
Todou's battle is different than that battle, especially since he does not have the overall grap of situation. Zero left suddenly with out explain much of anything, and too busy dealing with Guildford who is like equally skilled. The battle is not over yet anyway.
"And they even set up a command post at the school and apparently left no one at the wheel to give out intel, even with the pyscho girl there."
Um, that is what they were doing, than Ohgi got shot and Nina hadn't bother to show herself until last minute, and even she they would have know way of what she had was a bomb. If tried to stop her she might have might have used it.
"I also find it impossible to believe that Suzaku actually had any idea whatsoever that Lulu was Zero. The guy is denser then rock."
Actaully, most people thought he had figured it out back at ep 23, through he stated he was not completely sure.
And why would Kallen care if he was a Britanian? The guy has been rock solid ass kicker of all things Britain since day one and now shes all upset hes not an 11?
I don't know about that. I think anyone would be surprise if one's countrymen building an army against it's own country. It's like finding out a "Nazi" is lending an allied forced against Germany in WWII.
But, Kallen hardly racist, as a good reason to hate Britainna.
"I expect Nunally to be a Gaess user from V.V.. Probably use that manga version of her."
I think so too, but I doubt it's going be like the manga.
Personally, enjoyed the last 2 eps overall, despite some such as not large amout plot progression, but hopefully it stay that way when S2 starts.
@Kirby
Zero's about as Gay as Kallen/Karen hated Zero (prior to episode 25, now it's up in the air). If anything but normal, he's a huge sis-con. His kiss with C.C. was more of a "What the hell? Where'd that come from?" moment for him.
For why Toudou and the Black Knights were having problems, lets look at some basic tactics which are still very much applicable. It takes three times as many troops to attack a position than to defend one as long as close combat is the method of fighting and the skill level is equal. Toudou and his Shiseiken were the only trained solders in the Black Knights, five genuine well trained solders. They were up against an entire army of well trained solders, the Glaston Knights (specially trained and heavily armed solders), and Guilford who we know is about as good as Toudou. Not only that they were being peppered from the Britannian command center's defenses, making the attack against it all the harder.
And Suzaku having a suspicion Lelouch was Zero is more than possible. There were certainly enough clues for him, he just refused to believe it. The clues:
1) Episode 1, Lelouch's out-right hatred towards Britannia he expresses to Suzaku.
2) Seeing C.C. save Zero from capture during the Narita battle, the last time he saw her was with Lelouch
3) The Mao incident, Lelouch demonstrating his ability to command and perform mental activities characteristic of what Zero would be capable of.
4) His overall desire to recruit Suzaku to his side
5) The fact that Euphemia trusted Zero enough to be left alone with him, that would send off flares of "She knows who Zero is, and trusts him for some reason."
6) Though this would take some research, the fact Lelouch was always gone when Zero shows up.
7) Lelouch has a desperate secret he was trying to hide during the cat chase
8) Zero knew about Suzaku killing his dad, something he only brought up after the Mao incident which Lelouch was witness to.
Really, if he couldn't figure it out from that he'd have the IQ of a turnip. He just chose not to believe it.
On the Kallen issue, it wasn't that he was Britannian that devastated her, it was the fact it was Lelouch. Not some godlike figure but someone she saw as somewhat sinister, and the fact that he was bleeding from the bullet cracking his mask further disillusioned her of that godlike notion she had of Zero.
@LA
A second season has long since been confirmed, they actually had two endings ready for Code Geass, this one and an original which ended on episode 25. It's a question of when.
@Crusader
Well honestly speaking, there was no way he could have placed Nunnally under Kallen's watch unless he revealed who he was to the entire world. He could have sent her to watch the entire student council after she lost, this is true, but he was a bit short sighted there (and relying on some unreliable people, not to mention the one he could rely on got shot) and it wouldn't have allowed for the great cliffhanger ending Sunrise setup for us.
My predictions for S2
1) Kallen was the one who did the shooting, either killing herself (unlikely given she is supposed to survive S1), more likely she shot Suzaku to drive him off (thus the Live Geass kicking in) so she can question Lelouch
2) Lelouch will convince Kallen to stay on his side despite the current odds. Probably by saying things such as "Liberating Japan was an important step for my goal," "I never said Liberating Japan was my ultimate goal," and "The philosophy of the Black Knights is what I believe. It's just not why I'm fighting." And lets face it, those are all technically true because he's never done anything to contradict them. And the case of him aiming at the Student Council room isn't much of an argument, we all know he would not have shot.
3) Lelouch is about to gain some new weapon. Either his Geass is going to gain a new ability (maybe something along of "clearing the minds of those under your command and making them better solders" or a Geass Knightmare), he's going to find some weapon using the "thought elevator" or whatever that thing on Kaminejiwa is, or the Emperor is going to give him a new weapon under the pretense of him testing Lelouch (The emperor knows everything and wants it to play out, theres next to no chance he doesn't know what's really going on. He'll probably compensate Lelouch for VV's actions which he most likely ordered and thus disrupted Lelouch's test).
4) Whatever the new weapon is, Lelouch is going to show up at the last second to save the day for Japan.
5) The Emperor is going to be usurped by Schneizel, he's up to something and that sounds like something to really stir up the plot. Plus he looks like he's ready for the part. The Emperor having known this, will set-up some way to help Lelouch.
6) It'll be revealed that among other things, Lelouch meeting C.C. was the emperor's doing. That or it was his mother's doing.
7) Nunnally will open her eyes and gain a Geass (Possibly from V.V. because it's likely he's like C.C. seeing as how Nunnally mistook him for her...that or she all ready had one and Marianna was a "Geass Contractor" and that's why Marianna had Nunnally there, thus that would be the reason why her eyes are always closed and why the emperor ordered Marianna's body moved), probably something to do with seeing, "Sight beyond sight" and all that. Knightmare of Nunnally style Geass seems very unlikely given this one's personality.
8) Nunnally will remain with V.V. Lelouch unable to rescue her.
9) Lelouch's identity as Lelouch Vi Britannia will be revealed after the liberation of Japan (either by himself or Suzaku)
10) The romance aspect that is supposed to come during S2 will be a toss up between Kallen and Kaguya until C.C. gets out of the ocean, at which point she'll just win the love angle by default (Raksharta's right out...but Diethart might be a black horse competitor ^_^).
11) Lelouch is going to get a new 8th generation Knightmare, probably called Mordred (Arthur's taken by the cat afterall, Siegfried got taken by Alter Orange, and Mordred was the Black Prince). Though an airship like the Avalon being called that is more likely given Lelouch's nature as a commander and not a pilot.
12) Suzaku will find he has a partner who has a new knightmare probably called the Galahad, or the Lancelot will get destroyed and Suzaku will gain the new 8th generation Knightmare called the Galahad.
And that's all I have for now.
nice!
@Kirby
I highly doubt that Zero Japan could take on the Rest of Britannia with no, navy, and no air forces. Post-war Zero Japan just lost a huge chunk of its minimal infrastructure. How will Zero make spare parts, how will he feed his troops, how if ever will they get paid or compensated?
Bear in mind that Britannia boasts huge resources and reserves otherwise they could not hold on to their empire. Without knowing how many troops were lost its hard to tell how many Britannians as still fighting. As for a few turrets and a few troops let's look at a similar situation in 1973 when the Syrians smashed into the Golan Heights.
In principle for a successful attack you need to have at least a 3:1 advantage to even try. Secondly the purge created a lot of rough terrain and Cornelia's troops have the high ground and have already dug themselves in. It is very hard to take out a well dug in position, more so if you can't bring enough artillery to bear. The Syrians faced the same problem when a highly motivated IDF held the Golan for the first day inflicting huge losses despite the impotence of the IDF in the face of a Syrian SAM umbrella. Fighting up hill is hard more so if the enemy is well trained and know what they are doing. Lulu has no engineers to breach the defenses, I'd imagine that climbing up a bunch of rubble is a difficult task more so if the enemy can shoot straight, which they can. Then there were the field commanders who quickly realized the dire situation and rapidly mobilized their forces without orders from central command. This would prove critical in holding off the Syrian onslaught long enough for the IDF reserve to swing into action for the Isrealis. Apparently Cornelia's men were able to grasp what had to be done and moved with or without orders. Hence why Guilford counterattacked when he wanted. He must have felt that now was the time be it we need to make a breakout or the enemy is losing coordination.
Secondly Lulu never did leave overall command in anyone else's hands so once he left thing would get confusing fast. Todou can't command a unit that he does not know about or one that he does not know the location of . Todou is a tactician who can coordinate movements at a regimental level, this is very different from commanding three division sized out fits, one they are larger and two no two divisions will face the same problem. Even if a field HQ was established it takes a lot of nerve to sit at your desk relaying information while a battleship with a lot of fire power is just outside. More so if a huge explosive device is just waiting to be triggered from right under your ass...
Lulu never invested in a trained general staff to help him command his forces, Cornelia did. Guilford was tasked with delaying Todou and coming back alive, it was up to him to to decide how it was going to get done. Lulu on the other hand gives much more specific orders to his troops like where to go or when to retreat and attack. Since his forces have grown so accustomed to being ordered without much thought or damn is given to as why it makes perfect sense for them to collapse in short order. heck if you see your commander running in the other direction you might be inclined to do so as well, since the guy running away knows something you don't especially if that guy had access to information regarding the whole battle. Cowardice can prove infectious, but so can courage. Put your self in the shoes of a Black Knight, Zero has gone off somewhere and no body knows who is where, who is in charge of what, or what to do now. Contrast that with one of Cornelia's troopers I know who is higher than me, I know that we need to defend this spot, and I know that every body is doing their best to hold out until the reinforcements arrive. It's easy to see which side can remain confident. It bodes very badly when the first thing on Ougi's mind when shit hits the fan is "where is my boss" instead of how what is the problem and how do I (emphasis on Ougi) fix it. Todou may have been given command but he must have a lot of questions that went unanswered, like where is every body else, are there any new threats he is not aware of, what is the disposition of the enemy's forces, and how much time do I have left? Todou has no idea what is going on his right and left flanks he can't coordinate an encirclement or a flank attack if he has no idea how far away they are or if they can even initiate an attack.
Still this is Sunrise and it may turn out that the Black Knights miracle themselves out of this one, better be some miracle though. Loss of command and control, sagging, morale, and confusion down to the lowest levels usually spells doom for an army, unless enough commanders step up in a series of audacious small unit actions.
Kallen just found out that she and Japan were merely being used and that Zero would sacrifice them all for his sister if he had to. Kallen was willing to die for freedom, she has a few problems with being lied to and asked to die for the happiness of one person at the cost of millions.
@August
I doubt that if Ougi had been okay that things would have gone better. His first goal was to find Zero and bring him back, rather than what are my objectives and can I still achieve those? Ougi wanted someone to think for him not to think for himself.
Kallen did not have to come with him, He still had the Gefun Disturber that worked very well against Lancelot. Besides Kallen could still ambush Suzaku at the academy. Zero knew where Suzaku was headed, there was no need to go looking for him.
@LunaticChaos
He could have just told Kallen to stay and guard the HQ. She's a smart girl she's not one to let her friends die just like that, especially the innocent ones not pointing a gun at her.
Crusader; I think the CF will play a keyrole that may allow the OoBK to fight back, and could delay the reinforcements.
Cornelia's troop's can only hold out for so long and some of the resistances fighters for other conquered areas could show up and add support the main group (Todou's). So all is not lost yet.
However, how Lulu will explain his actions toward OoBK is another matter, Unless he shows up CF backing him.
I'd hate it if Suzaku gets Galahad, Galahad was the perfect Knight in the Arthurian legends, and somehow i don't think Suzaku would fit it, but i thought Mordred would be a good fit for Lulu, who had sort of a tragic past, depending on which version and telling you believe in.
Garten, it's awfully funny how the length of the comments here directly contradict how you saw the season finale.
At least Sunrise went back to the basics with suspense. I don't think they wanted the audience to care about cannon fodder though, and it really didn't bother me.
If CC dies, the show is over. But knowing Sunrise, there's no way they can kill her.
@Crusader
First off, good summary of why the Black Knights are currently screwed.
On the Kallen point, she's also not one to back down from a fight when she is perfectly able to fight, or for that matter when her beloved Zero would be in danger. Having her guard the HQ would have been a waster of manpower and made him look suspicious so he opted not to do so. And for Kallen, at that point in time it was Zero > Friends. And Lelouch thought Ougi was perfectly capable of keeping an eye on them and handling the HQ, not to mention he knows Ougi's normal level headness was better suited than the other Black Knights he could spare. He certainly wouldn't have left Tamaki in charge, Kallen doesn't have the skills necessary for a commander position (great pilot, poor leader), and I certainly wouldn't leave Diethart in charge because he's not suited for that position. If it wasn't for Villete showing up and shooting Ougi everything would have gone according to plan until Lloyd and Nina made their appearance at the School. The only thing more he could have done was stationed guards in the student council room, and that would have been slightly suspicious on his part. And that still might have not helped if V.V. can just teleport wherever he wants to.
@Jagd
The chances of other captured areas going to back up the Black Knights is practically nill, Japan is a pretty isolated location, and the Chinese are to the west. As for them helping out, I don't see that happening after the Kyushu incident.
@Raven
Lelouch doesn't really fit the bill for Gawain either, though I suppose C.C. would. Besides, if Suzaku gets a knightmare named Galahad, he's gonna undergo an apotheosis first. As for Lelouch getting something named the Mordred, this is the Japanese we're talking about, they'll see "Black Prince" associated with Mordred and instantly say "Oh that's a good name for Lelouch's knightmare/ship." The Japanese aren't known for deep symbolism all the time, a lot of time they use these names just cause they sound cool. Suzaku isn't really like Lancelot besides being the best warrior Britannia has to offer, Lancelot was actually a honorable and loyal knight till the whole Guineviere stuff started.
@Beowulf Lee
Heh, I think it was a perfect way to build up suspense is all. If they wait like a year to release S2, then this ending was stupid. If S2 comes out this fall then it's perfect.
i m not losing hope on the OugiXVilletta relationship aspect if Villetta really wanted Ougi dead she could have just emptied the gun on Ougi also in one of the screen shots she almost had a remorseful look on her face after she shot Ougi(or is just my wishful thinking) also i really disagree with the date ep 24 and 25 aired cause the 2nd season has still no definite air date this will just kill the momentum of this 2 eps
every time i saw the ending of season 1 i'm going to insane
i wanna know who got shot
lulu or suzaku? "i think they two will alive "
and about Cornelia i hope she won't die "i like her than euphie"
poor Nina you are so late i hope you disappeared soon
i hope season 2 coming soon
PS: garten i hope you get well soon
She will probably just come back and shoot him in the other kidney later.
Also, Loyd and Laksharta must not end up together!!! Laksharta would totally shoot Loyd in the gut afterwards. This series needs more Viletta moments.
Why didn't we get a flashback of why C.C. loves pizza so much? Must be saving it for NEXT SEASON!
I actually loved Viletta shooting Ogi, almost as much as I enjoyed out-of-my-way-scrubs Suzaku. This Marianne thing reeks of Harry Potter.
Hope you feel better, and I actually enjoyed your bullet style.
I love this series!!
Sorry abt the cold.. :(
Could u plz ...do the next season of Code Geass?? when its out?
oh.. and does anybody have any idea where i can dowload episodes of Code Geass?
Animesuki's got it lisenced so no go there!
soo long
Actually, I was one of those who also found it unbelieveable the side of BK were to lose in the end just for Zero being abscent , but after seeing the strategical review is here, it is then more credible. But one thing is for sure, Rakshakka and the others losing the Lancelot is being more than idiots, how is it possible that having it in the mouth, Lloyd comes and recovers his machine?!, it would've been perfect if they had lose it, and Suzaku gets scolded in next season for having losing it, not to mention he hit an aristocrat to steal an army weapon.
Anyway, there's still some hope, and I think the fact Nina had appeared, give the clue to that possibility, because there will be more time to think and calm down somehow, and in any way the miracle comes, I also think the CF may have an important role doing so, -maybe the long black-haired guy from shot in ep 23 will come out and make the difference, and making Zero lose credibility between his own army for abandoning them, and leting someone external take control.
But the reason why there are more problems than what Lelouche could only predict and that's why now they're losing, is:
He didn't tell Toudou Cornelia was down, the place where she lied, and to start negociations with Britannia for her person.
And because he didn't do so, due to C.C.'s warning to Lelouche, Cornelia could call Suzaku, send him to Kaminejima, he can't save Nunally and things are now screwed.
Anyway, the "Finale" of this season was great in terms of the whole story because the encounter between the main characters wasn't delayed anymore, and this gives more space to watch the evolution in their personalities and actions according to these new circumstances.
I can't wait to see these new Knightmares coming, I hope the S2 takes no much...
To add on to Garten's brilliant questions: Why are Kallen and Suzaku angry that Zero is Lelouch? It's not like it's a surprise, is it? And why doesn't Suzaku want Zero to save Nunnally? He's such an arrogant conceited sadist. Also, why does Suzaku say that Zero does not belong to this world/the future has nothing to do with Zero when he himself killed his father and became a traitor to the Japs? Why is everyone obsessed with Euphie's revenge?
@ap
Suzaku's thought process after V.V. spills the beans on Geass: Geass...power to control others....me and Euphie acted so strange after we spent time alone with Zero and we blanked out...Zero made Euphie do all that....Zero is the one responsible for all those deaths! And he blamed it all on Euphie to trick the Japanese!
Suzaku's thought process while discovering Zero=Lelouch:....Damn it I was right, he killed his own sister, just for revenge, just to cause more chaos and death. I can't let him have his way.
Kallen/Karen's thought processes while learning Zero-Lelouch: No, Lelouch doesn't care about Japan, he doesn't care about helping everybody. He just cares about results....No...this can't be Zero, Zero's supposed to be the hero of the weak, the one who wants to revive Japan.
Seperate Audience knowledge from character knowledge, Suzaku certainly knows nothing about what happened with Euphemia being an accident, nor probably would he care because he's all about the method of how you achieve your goals, regardless of the Euphie incident he did not like Zero's methods, Euphie was just the last straw. Kallen only knows Lelouch is result oriented and is rather cold and heartless, she doesn't know how he actually thinks or what he believes.
@Jagd
I doubt that the Chinese federation are going to intervene on behalf of Zero. He's not someone they can control, as Zero is not going to be "their man" in Japan. The only way he could possibly do it is by Geassing enough of the Chinese federation Bigwigs, but that means he has to double back refuel and find them in their well defended territory. If the CF does intervene it will have to be some miracle indeed as the last time he got turned down. It's not unusual that the CF Navy has mobilized, any country would put their borders under high alert if their neighbor got really unstable. The USN went on alert when Castro went under the knife anticipating a refugee problem.
As for other places mobilizing, its going to take quite a feat to mobilize half way around the world in less than 96 hours, Not even the US can do it in less than 72 with no trouble at all. 24 for spec ops, but grunts take at the very least 48 with just a gun, and 96 with enough equipment to stay there. Still this is Sunrise, and they bring back people from the dead, so i can't rule it out.
@LunaticChaos
Since Kallen is already a student and knows the hostages it would not be a stretch for Kallen to take over the minutiae of guarding the students. students are very valuable hostages they must be treated with care, and who better to keep the hostages calm than one of their own? In this light Kallen could contribute more by making sure that the hostages are safe thus preserving a nice negotiating point. In this light +1000 hostages are more valuable than 1000 dead Britannian soldiers. These hostages are the students of very influential families, which makes keeping them all the more important.
@Katzbin
I also enjoyed the shooting of Ougi. Though I wish Villetta shot him in the balls first, but such is life. i hope the Marianne thing is more interesting than it seems. If they put in some Marianne x Cornelia yuri then Sunrise can make up whatever the hell they want as far as I am concerned.
It does seem rather funny that Zero knows just about everything, but some how missed that one of his trusted commanders was bedding a woman that tried to kill him.
Based on my Judgement....VV's Geass skill is something like teleportation...

@Crusader
Are you in the military of just a military buff? The way you talk sounds like you have formal military training, or at least have a close family member in it.
Well back to the issue at hand...
However that's not how Lelouch thinks, he'll bluff about taking hostages as he did against Suzaku in 24 and Jeremiah in 4, but he's not the type to actually do it. It's against his basic nature, sure he'll play dirty but he has large problems against the strong bullying the weak, you can see this even when he's acting as Lelouch Lamperouge in more than a few episodes. Taking over the school was to keep the students out of the fight, thus why he placed Ougi, Raksharta, and Tamaki there, they're all pretty useless in the actual fighting, but they're perfect for running a command center....cept maybe Tamaki, he's a bit of a hothead, good guard though, kinda funny actually, he's one of my favorite characters. He's devoted to the Black Knights and Zero like Kallen, but he doesn't downright worship and hold Zero as a god like she did. Hell I think if it was him in Kallen's shoes at Kaminejiwa he would have just shot Suzaku and tried to get Lelouch to come back to the fight instead of having the complete mental breakdown about Zero only considering liberating Japan a step in the plan.
As to what he should have done, he should have placed someone like Tamaki in the room with the orders "Do not hurt them, but don't let them out of this room without supervision." With the do not hurt clause Tamaki becomes the perfect guard dog for Nunnally and the rest of the student council. The student council wouldn't have been able to win him over, Shirley deciding to reveal Zero's identity would have gotten a "He's just a kid? Wow, now I'm impressed" from him at best, while with Kallen it would have gotten similar results as her learning about it on Kaminejiwa if she believed Shirley. Unless V.V. can teleport into a room and immediatly teleport out there was nothing he would have been able to do to capture Nunnally. Now the problem comes back to what to do when Lloyd and Nina shows up, but there was no way he could predict either of those things.
Onto your other comments....
Damn that's cold dude, you don't like Ougi that much do you?
Marianna x Cornelia Yuri/Shoujo-Ai? Bleh, I'll only forgive a corny plot twist if there's Marianna x C.C yuri/shoujo-ai as a result.
You know, I think the single biggest mistake Zero has made in the series is that he didn't reveal his identity to anyone and that he didn't make his ultimate goals known to his staff. If he revealed it to Kallen after the Narita battle in the cave he would have saved himself the situation at the end of 25 that could end up being very bad for him. Then sometime later Ougi, Toudou, and yes even Diethart (news fanatic, but he can keep his mouth shut). Among other things if he revealed he was a Britannian Prince it would save him the headache and danger of it being revealed as late in the game as it's going to be.
@Robo
I think teleporting is something either "Geass contractors" can do, which would certainly explain how fast and easily C.C. moves around some of these episodes. Or V.V. is a fully realized Geass user, because Geass is supposed to be an ability that has to do with the very fabric of reality, thus teleportation wouldn't be that far fetched as an additional ability
Honestly, the only reason I watched this show was just to kill some time off. This show and the characters are too conservative in my opinion (e.g. Suzaku, Lelouch, Britannia) and everything, all the concepts and etc, are too black and white. Everything is seperated by good and bad, nothing in between. I also can't stand Suzaku-kun anymore because he is an absolute idiot, he never thinks through with his morals and goals and goes charging off with revenge too many times. Well, that's just my opinion.
I love C.C !!
@LunaticChaos
Three years in and counting, for my first enlistment. Warfare and history are among my hobbies and personal interests, it be my prime choice for a profession if it paid better...but such is life.
I Lulu really wanted them to stay out of the fight why would even place them in the line of fire in the first place? As a field HQ it is a prime target for an attack and harassment. If he wanted them to be safe, all he had to do was not send any troops anywhere near there. Its not like the Britannians are going to massacre the student body, but some over eager Black Knights might. Heck Tamaki would have been all for it if the students even mentioned the word eleven.
Tamaki would make for a piss poor guard. He disregarded Zero's promise not to hurt them, and instead of simply tying them up he would much rather shoot them for even a minor infraction. No, he's too impetuous to be good at guarding any thing. i suspect that he is hardo gei for Zero though since he knows Zero best.... As for shooting Suzaku he would have shot him as a traitor, but he may just as well have shot Zero for being of royal Britannian blood. After all it was still Lulu's fault that the Euphie massacre occurred at all, that might be a bit hard to forgive. Then again Tamaki can be Geassed.
Ougi sucks, I don't like the guy. Worse reluctant hero wannabe ever. Besides in a court of law he could be convicted for raping Villetta. He did take advantage of her reduced mental state, and was under no obligation to reciprocate.
Cornelia might use onee-sama, C2 can't she's too old and we have no idea if Marianne would even use onee-sama. Also and yuri will have to be in flashback form, Marianne is dead and necrophiliac yuri is not high on my list of must see TV.
Lulu never trusted any one fully, he always kept secrets even from Nunnally. The only person he was ever honest with was C2. He is so caught up with suspicion that its a wonder that he has made any friends at all...Lulu is a compulsive liar and manipulator. Sure he cares about his friends, but would they still be his friends if he were ever completely honest? His mad scheme of billions of lives for Nunnally in happy land might be a bit off putting to say the least. The problem with revealing himself as a Prince is that there will always be the nagging suspicion that he's just in this for the sake of courtly intrigue to further himself in preparation to seize the throne. It's not like people will throw themselves to serve a Prince of an enemy nation.
did CC die?! :((

@Crusader
Thought so, certainly knew enough of the specifics for it to be true.
Even if he didn't send troops there overzealous rebels would go there, his logic is to set up Black Knight control before anybody gets a little too excited about revenge against Britannia. As stated, Tamaki is overzealous but he certainly isn't the only one. Plus it keeps any of the students from escaping during all the chaos and get in the way of the fighting.
Which is why Tamaki would need specific orders of what not to do, Tamaki is overzealous yes, but he certainly is loyal to a fault. It's one reason Ougi was put in charge there with Tamaki under his command. And although I certainly see Tamaki believing Shirley revealing Zero is really just a student. I doubt he'd believe the subsequent reveal from Millay that he's a Prince, in fact I think he wouldn't believe the previous statement that Zero is just a student after that statement. You have to admit it would sound pretty damn unlikely that a Britannian Prince is considered the single greatest traitor to Britannia, and with how often Zero has led the charge or risked his life it would seem even less likely.
Plus only those who have actually seen the Geass symbol in Lelouch's eye, been geassed, or have learned about the Geass through someone who has been geassed and used their brain would actually believe Lelouch can give an absolute order. Seeing as how you're in the military, can you imagine telling your superior officer that you disobeyed orders but have no recollection of it or because someone controlled your actions against your will? I can expect that not going over very well.
You see Ougi as a reluctant hero attempt? Wow no wonder you don't like him.
........*Breaks out into laughter* Oh man, right now I can just see someone registering "necrophiliacgeassyuri.com" and now I'm too scare to check to see if it is registered.
Well back to the main issue, hey now, who said C.C./Mairanna Yuri couldn't be a roleplaying situation? And besides, it's fine for ancient C.C. and Lelouch but not C.C. and Marianna? Now talk about a double-standard there.
As stated, that's Lelouch's biggest mistake, no man is an island as the saying goes. The less people he trusts enough to at least reveal his face to, the more that can come to bite him in the ass later as we see at the end of 25. Besides, his goal is a place where Nunnally can be happy, what kind of place is that? A world where the weak have an equal chance to live happily (at least in his book, it's ironic that Lelouch missed what it is to be happy in Nunnally's book with him doing the exact opposite of that). His reason very few people would agree with, his goal many, many people would rally behind. Very few people anywhere would act out of ideals, everybody acts out of self-interest. All of the Black Knights would have their own reasons for joining up and wanting to change the world, once they got past the idealization of Zero they'd probably still accept Lelouch regardless of his reason for his goal.
Prince he may be and that suspicion could be brought to light, but he does have Kirihara on his side, who once revealed as one of the masterminds behind the resistance would be a great reason why he could be trusted. And it's possible Toudou would support Lelouch as well because they have met at least once in the past, so Toudou would probably have a pretty good idea that Lelouch has no love for Britannia. And with the current situation, if he can win Kallen back to his side, and keep Kaguya and Ougi on his side he'd be golden.
Sides, it's far better for him to reveal it himself than for the enemy to reveal it at a particularly bad moment. Even someone as dense about "You gotta trust some people" as him would realize it's gonna come out sooner or later, especially if Suzaku lives through this incident....though is his upgraded Geass lets him erase memories he might be in the clear.
These eps rocked!!! Just to make it short...THEY WERE AWESOME!!
Also you guys and memento reviewer...you all rock too because you understand the serie quite well. >
Hope you’re already better from your flu Garten, I know how nasty those things can be Xx
Anyway, while these definitely are quite amazing and excellent episodes, the context on which they where shown (they don’t pack as strong a punch as the twists and hell of 22-23, they are a complete continuation of episode 23 so the waiting time killed all the excitement created on 22-23, and finally, you already know that it’s unlikely for anyone to die on the ending cliffhanger which draws from the drama and so waiting for the second season is not as hard as waiting for these episodes was) marks them as just good or even average. But putting that aside, I guess most of what I could say about what happens on these episodes has already been told by other posts, so I’ll better start looking for the future these episodes open.
First let’s start with the whole rebellion and liberation of Japan. Till the end of episode 24, everything is going according to plan. The Purge takes Britannia’s numeric advantage and gives the BKs (Black Knights) a good start. With the Gawain, Zero takes care of any other aerial force that was left and so it was time for the BKs ground forces to press in. Then, the surviving KMs (KnightMares) of Britannia star defending and with the terrain advantage plus the help of the elite Glaston Knights and the Fortress abilities of the Government Office, create a “stall situation”. While on this moment Britannia definitely can’t win against the BKs, if they are capable of surviving till the arrival of reinforcements and the whole might of the Pacific Ocean fleet from the main land, they win. On the other side, even if the BKs take the Government Office and Japan declares their independence, they still don’t have the military power to start a full scale war against Britannia. And of course, it’s here that Zero’s tactics come into play, he wanted to catch Cornelia to question her for his own personal motives, but in having her he would not only force the britannian troops at the Government Office to surrender, but would also have an important hostage to negotiate with Britannia (she’s the second imperial princess after all) and with that he expected to finally be able to come on direct confrontation with the Emperor himself. We know he doesn’t really care about Japan or independence, he just wants the truth about his past plus a future for Nunnally, in other words, destroy the imperialism of Britannia by taking the imperial family itself, therefore questioning those related to his mother’s murder and at the same time probably declaring himself emperor of Britannia (or taking the control of the empire in someway) to “correct” their evil ways: he kills the two birds with the same stone.
Then, by the end of episode 24 Lelouch’s plans get screwed. With Ougi mysteriously shot when they felt so secure at their “base” the BKs there are thrown into panic. This gives the students a chance to escape, further increasing the chaos and giving V.V. the chance to take Nunnaly away. As if this wasn’t bad enough, Orange-kun comes to the party, preventing Zero from taking Cornelia as hostage and with his mind focused on Nunnaly right now, at the moment he takes care of the strange yet powerful (and colossally big also xd) “Orange KnightMare”, he just leaves the BKs for good. And of course, the news fly fast and the BKs start demoralizing which gets them even closer to lose the battle, as seen by the end of episode 25, right before the whole Lelouch v/s Suzaku scene. And now, on this scene itself, I just love how Suzaku’s face changes in here. From the hatred towards Zero, to the surprise of seeing that it was indeed Lelouch under the mask and finally, the sadness and the negation. The same can be said about Kallen, she goes from worry to an omg surprise and then even desperation. It has already been explained by other posts why she gets destroyed by the fact Zero = Lulu, but if anyone still has doubts watch her conversation with Lulu on episode 09 (I still think that sunrise should of have shown more Lulu and Kallen moments but nvm now). Anyway, by the end of all the discussion, we see both Lulu and Suzaku pressing their triggers and we hear a shot.
Now, while it has been suggested that this shot could come from Kallen or that she could of have stepped in between the shots, a mere milliseconds before the shots we’re shown an image of her still too surprised for a fast reaction and besides she’s holding the gun in a way that’s impossible for her to have shot. The way I see it, the most possible scenario is that both Lulu and Suzaku actually shot each other, yet with how emotional they where, is unlikely anyone got a killing shot and besides Suzaku’s live geass prevents him from doing anything that would put him in danger, like really killing Lulu in this situation. Of course, we also know Sunrise wouldn’t kill any of them this soon, the two of them are way too important. Is likely that Lulu’s shot hits Suzaku’s gun arm, triggering the live geass and making him run away for safety. At the same time, Lulu is injured on an arm or leg, so he needs Kallen’s help. This moment would mark a very important decision for the whole future of this series:
-If Kallen decides to help Lulu, she will realize how he’s been doing everything for Nunnally, that he’s not a bad persona after all and probably forgive him, consequently making his return to the BKs easier.
-If Kallen decides not to help him and just leave, this will make it harder for Lulu to save Nunnaly and greatly increase his chance of losing the BKs or at the very least Kallen’s support.
Now, once Lulu enters the ruins, whether the Emperor is there too or it’s just V.V. with Nunnaly, it’s likely we will receive some nice revelations about either the Geass, Marianne, the Emperor or etc and maybe even all of it. It’s also probable that Lulu will receive the means to save the BKs predicament back at the Tokyo settlement, but probably won’t be able to rescue Nunnaly.
And with that, the doors will be opened for a global conflict that will be wrapped with the whole mysteries behind everything Geass related.
@Serenade
Well put, but a few things I can't agree with just knowing the characters.
1
Capturing Cornelia to use as a hostage. While this works great on those under her command and probably Schneizel as well, it's a useless trick against the Emperor and Lelouch would know this. If the Emperor shows up it will be to see Lelouch not because of a hostage situation. Her position in the line of ascendancy means nothing if she got captured. The Emperor more or less said it himself "The weak will die to feed the strong." A sentiment that means he could care less about the fallen, its those who succeed that catch his eyes.
2
On who shot.
I still think it was Kallen who shot, you'd be surprised how fast you can react on instinct and I think Instinct is going to kick in. She sees Zero in danger and her instinct to protect him is going to kick in, if not her own survival instinct knowing "Lelouch dead" = "everybody here dead." Stepping in between the shots is not bloody likely, if Sunrise does that I'll organize my own rebellion and go knocking on their doorsteps demanding at least some realism..the Kira Yamato surviving a faceful of explosion thing was hard enough for me to suspend my disbelief.
3
Lelouch being too emotional to shoot properly
Lelouch was really bloody angry I'll give you that, but anger alone isn't enough to mess your aim up that badly, Lelouch has a large target with the way Suzaku is standing straight on like that (not to mention the incredible inflata-breasts his jumpsuit gives him. I swear such a bad design there.) Suzaku on the other hand has a fairly small target with Lelouch's side-stance for firing and unusual body position for it. Lelouch is only angry however and is able to hold his gun steady with one hand, he's perfectly capable of firing right now. Suzaku on the other hand is shaking, even with both hands on his gun, feeling a huge array of emotions, so he's definently has the best chance of missing right now...though grazing Lelouch's Geass eye does seem possible, thus rendering the Geass useless for a time if not permanently.
4
The Live Geass
The Live Geass isn't a catch-all, it only activates when Suzaku's life is in genuine danger, the moment he becomes put in a dangerous situation it has a good chance to activate, but he has to get in one first. Such as fatally wounding Lelouch right now, Suzaku's Live Geass would activate and he'd find someway to get out of the range of the explosion that's about to come.
Now on more personal opinions
I don't think Kallen will trust him until after they get a chance to talk, I think she'll act on instinct and desire to know the truth to save him but that'll be that until Lelouch spills all the beans.
On another note, this is half-prediction, half-this would be so bloody ironic and funny. I hope it's not true, but I would laugh so hard if it was.
That Lelouch suddenly gains the ability to grant Geass after actually getting shot fatally, and by entering a contract the granter gains immortality. So to survive Lelouch grants Suzaku or Kallen a Geass.
@LunaticChaos
I definitely agree with your last posts, but on here I suppose we converge xd
1
On the whole Cornelia as hostage, I was just quoting a phrase from Lulu on these episodes where he himself says that this would eventually force the Emperor to appear. Of course, using her as hostage is useful because of her position as part of the royal family and capable general/leader/administrator for Britannia (she’s the Chief General of their Army after all), not because Schneizel or the Emperor would be worried because of their “love” for her. Just imagine what image of the power of “supposedly all mighty” Britannia it would give to the rest of the world if they know that Cornelia (who’s part of the best Britannia has to offer) has been killed by some group of terrorists and rebels.
2
Seeing how Kallen didn’t even react to point her gun at Suza when he shot Zero’s helmet and she just could cry a “no”, the fact that the whole last scene was supposed to be some slow motion of the second/s before the shot, and in that same slow motion we see Lulu and Suza with their fingers in the triggers about to shot while she’s not only pointing her gun down, but isn’t even holding it to be able to shot it, I definitely doubt she was the one who shot. But still, in the end, it all will come down to whatever Sunrise wants to do with the characters after this scene, as they could throw logic by the board.
3
I was just saying that the whole “emo thing” could be used as an argument for how the two of them didn’t kill each other or at least Lulu killed Suza as it should happen considering how things where in the ending. Of course, maybe Sunrise will surprise the hell out of us and actually kill Suza, and that strange boy on the very end that resembles him with a haircut (on 48:40, on inverted colors) will be Suza’s replacement/resurrection.
4
Maybe we’re just misinterpreting each other on this; the situation in which I put the live geass on my above comment was similar to one you gave yourself. Still, for the sake of argument, the live geass doesn’t activate just when Suzaku is in danger, but actually when he in fact knows/thinks he could die. As example, if a sniper were to take him down, there’s no way it would activate and he would indeed die, or in this case, if he were to try to fatally shot Lelouch (he already knows it would make the bomb explode, therefore byebye), the live geass would actually activate before he could shot and prevent him from doing so or make him aim at a non lethal part. The live geass by definition exist to prevent him from going suicidal, to forbid Suza from jumping by his own will at death, not to somehow miraculous save him from a lethal situation, although of course if he’s already on the middle of one when he realizes the life threat, then the geass kicks in and makes him do anything at his own disposal to save his life (I can so imagine a, him above the Titanic: “screw the elderly, the women and the kids, my life’s first” moment for Suza xD).
On the rest I agree, it would be so damn fun to see that, although of course, improbable xd.
hey if anyone has any link to see the episodes plz send me them to my e-mail

i am dying to see the season finale

Once again I would disagree, if the Emperor shows up it's going to be specifically for Lelouch, regardless of whether Cornelia gets captured or not. All he has to do is reveal who Zero really is and the image of Britannia being weak goes down the drain, it becomes a "Cornelia was weak" thing instead because of "Zero is a Prince of Britannia and the Black Knights are his army, he merely successfully destroyed an obstacle in the way to his throne." Though the Emperor would probably make it sound better I'll state now.
2.
I would say it does come down to Sunrise, that's one reason why I am so convinced that it was Kallen doing the shooting, simply cause it was more believable than the last "How the hell does that make sense?" in Gundam Seed.
3.
I shall be a very happy evil maniac if Sunrise kills Suzaku off. He's leaving a bad Shin aftertaste.

I believe the Live Geass still needs a verbal command to live though, or at least a strong desire to live before it'll activate. The last time it activated it only started because Euphemia commanded him to live.
I've actually been thinking about who shot some more. And I think I have the answer, seeing as how there was only one shot.
I think it was the Emperor who shot, the shot simply to get both of their attention. Why?
1) During the prince meeting (I assume all of them were princes considering Schneizel and the first Prince were there) it was commented that the Emperor was missing.
2) The Emperor is the one person who Suzaku would listen to under these circumstances, because he represents the ultimate authority of Britannia, The Emperor would tell Suzaku to stand down.
3) Lelouch would instantly forget about Suzaku the moment the Emperor showed up. And with Nunnally as a hostage Lelouch can't do anything to the Emperor yet.
4) It would explain why V.V. brought Nunnally to Kaminejiwa, the Emperor would probably have access to it through whatever that "Thought Elevator" is.
5) It would be Lelouch's Dues Ex Machina he so desperately needs right now to save himself and the Black Knights. The emperor could provide any number of weapons to Lelouch as a "Let's see your worth" test.
6) It would effectively reveal all secrets to Kallen, and it would at the same time plunge her deeper into dispair at having been mislead the entire time. Especially if the Emperor makes it look like everything that has happened to have been his plan all along. If Lelouch can regain Kallen after that she'll be his permanent ally regardless of what happens.
Wow, Ive never felt compelled to post a comment before, but damn I just hate this review. I've watched more anime than any sane person should and I've never been as into an anime as this.
if you are reading this GO WATCH THIS SHOW! Terrible name I know but it's the best damn show you will ever see. Better than Naruto for action, better than (all) Gundam for politics, better than Death Note for intelligent, better than Higarushi for drama. In short for the first time I feel like a fanboy. It's that damn good.
I think the last 2 episodes of Code Geass deserved more credit. It didnt suck it just left a cliffhanger. I do agree that the characters dont really make u care for them (except suzaku which is the feelin of hate!!) but the plot, politics and world they created + fighting makes up for it. The only 3 characters i dont want to die is zero, Kallen and C.C
The only thing i cant take is how weak OoBK was when Zero left and how da hell can that geekish, racist, mentally distressed girl make a nuke ??
I mean come on !! thats freakin impossible that a highschool girl can create a nuke with sakuradite ??!! isnt sakuradite a material for superconducters, if so how the hell can she get enriched uranium ??!!
Well generally this series rocks Zero is the best Protagonists and Suzaku..... well he's a contradicting jerk i hope he realises his mistake and commits suicide.
WATCH IT !
@lumpkin
On how Nina made a nuke....
1) Her last name is Einstein....gee why does that sound so familiar....
2) She made quick friends with Lloyd, a noble and researcher who would have access to enriched uranium among other things.
code geass is a great anime a liked but i can't see the episode 24-25 do you know where i can't see the episode?????... i hope the ending of the anime is great!!i would also want the second season of code geass but i want in English no in italia
Lelouch/C.C. kiss caption:
"Do not want!"
I'm glad that someone finally understands.=P Whatnot with Lulu/C.C. fans taking up a large amount of the fanbase.I don't really like the couple,period.
Though I'd seriously think that she would be someone more Arthurian related.There's a decent amount of Arthurian culture in here.
And sorry about your cold!
I'm I the only one here that thinks that Lulu looked really hot after Suzaku shot his helmet/mask off?
I agree with you Garten. A Psycho Suzaku IS an annoying Suzaku. I really can't understand why there are people who still like him. He goes around ranting on about how Zero is forcing his way of thinking onto other people, but in reality Suzuku is the one who is pressing his way of thinking onto others. And he just doesn't LISTEN.
Nunaly is starting to annoy me too. This girl needs to learn that there are bad people in the world. I mean, she was just kidnapped a couple weeks? months? ago. You'd think she'd learn already...
Yknow, i think it was awesome anime with a really big cliffhanger with a ton of unused characters that could have had more action in them. However i know everyone is talkin about how he could have acted during the last episodes but i dont think that's possible for him during the time. Obviously as we view through all this we are able to determine and point out flaws and actions he should and could have taken. But he is unable to do that during the midst of battle. We are at home watching and he is in war. who has more time? lol
i really like code geass at the beginning, but the story is getting more and mo re twisted at the end. I'm hoping that on the second season it will get better for lulu. i don't like seeing him done all those nasty things. What I like is that Clamp did the char design of course. Clamp style is one of the best manga style ever.
I can't wait for season 2!!!!!!
I wonder when it'll start!
Finally seen the last two eps. I must say that I agree with garten's impression. However, I am quite impressed with lelouch. While he's demeanor is not one that adheres him to the heart, it is refreshing to see someone who is like the godfather - a 'good' bad guy. He's motivations are clear even if he's methods aren't. I don't think kallen will be as trusting anymore, but I have a feeling that lelouch will "make her an offer she can't refuse. Lol.
As for suzu, I honestly hate characters like him.. but thats a good thing for the series - although lelouche is considered the monster, he is actually rational - all the carnage he creates is towards some solid goal; suzu is only controlled by emotions and a disheartnening naivete and worship for britanian law - almost like ppl in the real world who 'believe' in democracy but wants its government to handle everything - as opposed to those who go out to war to fight for that democracy..
Im sure that lulu either geasses kallen or she realises that lulu is her only shot to restore japan. Either way, suzu needs to be taught a lesson. [So, my vote is that he is shot.]
More like quadruple post!
:P
Do not know if you can... but could you re-share the Code Geass openings for PSP format? The links are long dead, and well... this is the first time I've come here... =(
When is season 2 coming out? Can't wait!:)
There is one thing I don't get! Is which side is the bad guy; Zero or the Britannias soldiers. These guy are mixed up the whole good and evil thing.
is that all the code Geass or not i want to watch more but its sad how Lelouch died and was my favorite person
