OMG, this is so awesome. More than I thought possible. Remember how I previously mentioned that I have difficulty connecting with the character? Well, this will sound heartless but that little problem turns out to be pure joy for me right now because it means I can enjoy the carnage without feeling depressed about it. After all, unlike series like Evangelion, I have no favourite character here so I can just relax and marvel at the destruction and mayhem. And what carnage this one turns out to be. I have to give it to the writers for having the courage to wipe out characters left and right like this. By the time the episode ends, almost everyone is either powned, completely messed up, or will get unpleasant surprise in the future. The only thing bad about this episode is that we have to wait until summer to watch the last 2 episodes, which I think will wrap up the Lelouch's rebellion part of the story.
In the aftermath of the massacre, all Japanese including Karen are outraged and swear to stop Euphemia. It also becomes apparent that Britannian frames are no match for Karen's Guren Nishiki and Toudou's Gekka frames. While trying to stop a frame from shooting at civilian, Karen realises that the pilot is none other than Euphemia and vice versa. Before they can have a proper catfight, however, Zero already arrives on the scene with Gawain. He basically dismantles Euphemia's frame using wire-like weapon. Despite this, Euphemia picks up an automatic gun to shoot at Gawain and Guren Nishiki. Eventually she runs out of ammunition so Zero comes out of Gawain and proceeds to approach Euphemia. While this happens, Suzaku is frantically looking for Euphemia and is shocked when he sees Zero shooting Euphemia at point-blank range. As Euphemia falls to her death, she wonders why Lelouch shoots her.
Lelouch bids goodbye to Euphemia, telling himself that Euphemia was probably his first love. Suzaku immediately goes berserk upon seeing Euphemia's lifeless body. Lancelot quickly swoops down, causing C.C and Karen to worry for Zero's safety. The two, however, are overpowered by Lancelot's quick movement. Thankfully Suzaku is only interested in getting Euphemia and goes back to Avalon right away after securing her. Meanwhile, Diethard tells Laksharta that he intends on showing footage of Japanese people beating up a Britannian to the entire world using the internet. Upon hearing this Laksharta comments on Diethard's lack of loyalty towards Britannia. Diethard, however, doesn't care since he doesn't want to serve Britannia. He also questions Laksharta's motive so Lasharta tells him that she's just in it for the data. However, she'd feel bad if she abandons them. Plus, she thinks Zero is an interesting man.
Meanwhile, Zero is now meeting with the remaining Kyoto group. Upon seeing Kaguya, Zero remembers that she is actually a relative of Suzaku. One of the old men tells Zero that from now on, they would like things to be under their control. Zero, however, snaps back, telling them that the reverse will happen. Since the situation has turned this way, he'd like the 6 remaining members of the Kyoto group to be under his command. He would not allow counter-argument and besides, their surviving method has completely gone. Back inside Avalon, Suzaku asks the barely alive Euphemia as to why she gave the order. Unfortunately Euphemia doesn't know what Suzaku is talking about. For a brief moment, her eyes are under Geass' influence again and she remembers that Suzaku is also Japanese. Euphemia, however, manages to supress the power and asks Suzaku what happened to the ceremony and Japan.
Upon hearing Euphemia's words, Suzaku realises that Euphie doesn't remember anything. While this happens, Zero appears on the stage in the ceremony hall while a television camera relays the scene to the whole world. Zero quickly addresses all of the Japanese people who have been oppressed by Britannia. He claims that he was waiting for the time to return from the shadow and to correct Britannia's injustice. He then goes on to say how their trust have been betrayed in a barbaric slaughter. While Euphemia wonders if the Japanese are happy, the Japanese people are telling Zero that they won't forgive Euphemia while others name-calling her liar, witch, etc. On stage, Zero agrees with the Japanese, telling them that Euphemia is the symbol of Britannia's hypocrisy. Meanwhile Euphemia asks Suzaku if she did well. Suzaku, decides to lie to her, saying that the ceremony was a great success and everyone was very happy.
Back to Zero, he declares an independence from Britannia. This, however, does not mean that he wants a revival of old Japan. The new Japan that Zero intends to build from now on is a state full of dignity, where the strong ones do not oppress the weak. A country which accepts all races, history, and principle. The name of this new country is the United States of Japan. Diethard who sees this is delighted to be able to see the founding of a nation. Back inside Avalon, Euphemia thinks it's strange that she suddenly can't see Suzaku's face. Suzaku starts crying upon hearing this and holds Euphemia's hand with his own. Euphemia starts talking about going to school so Suzaku tells her to go with him to Ashford because they have a fun student council over there. Euphemia starts to cry as well as she tells Suzaku that meeting him....unfortunately Euphemia can't finish her sentence because she has passed away.
At the same time, Lelouch has finished his speech and has gone back to a room to talk to C.C. C.C wonders if Lelouch intends on invading the Tokyo settlement. Lelouch confirms this, claiming that this is their best chance. After taking his helmet, Lelouch remembers that his Geass is now permanently active so he tries to not see C.C directly. C.C, however, assures him that she'll be okay because Geass doesn't work on her. Their conversation comes to an end when Nanaly calls Lelouch, telling him that she'd like to talk to Euphemia. Apparently she wants to go to the school festival with Lelouch and Euphemia since Millay has told her that they can redo the school festival, which got interrupted due back then. Because of this, she wonders if the three of them can go together. Upon hearing this Lelouch asks Nanaly if she hadn't heard the news. Nanaly confirms this, saying that the radio broadcast has ended. However, she wonders if something happened.
Instead of telling her the truth, Lelouch tells Nanaly that nothing happened. He then promised to come back tomorrow and they will discuss this. After Lelouch ends the phone call, C.C wonders if there is any other changes apart from the fact that Lelouch can't turn on/off his Geass. Lelouch thinks there wasn't anything else except that Euphemia tried to resist his Geass. At first he thought he was losing his power but when he thinks about it, he should have expected Euphie wouldn't permit that kind of thing to happen. Lelouch becomes depressed upon saying this so C.C embrace him and assures him by saing that their contract will ensure that she will be next to him. A few days later, Britannia is in panic because riot has broken out in various places. Now that they are the largest armed group, the Black Knights draws the general public as the group sets its sight on Tokyo settlement. It is estimated that those who changed sides adds up to tens of thousands.
To make things worse, Guildford refuses to let the soldiers' move because Cornelia has ordered them to stop attack. One of the generals try to point out that Cornelia has shut herself up in Euphemia's room due to shock. In addition to this, General Dalton has also gone missing. Cut to a shot of an emotionless Cornelia and a VERY disturbed Nina. While this happens, participants for Black Knights come from every areas in Japan. Realising the odds are against Britannians, Karen can't help but hoping that her friends in the student council will be able to escape. Meanwhile, C.C can be seen talking to an unseen person again, saying that the person who's happy is her. She also admits that she has forgotten how to be nice and addresses the person she's talking to as "Marianne". At the same time, Ougi is talking to Villetta on the phone, telling "Chigusa" that once he comes back, there is something that he'd like to tell her.
Villetta (or Chigusa) is happy to hear this because this is the first time Ougi called her using that name. After Villetta hangs up the phone, however, there are banging noise from the front door and before she knows it, a group of Eleven has entered Ougi's house and accuses her of being a spy. Meanwhile, Rivalz, Shirley, and Nanaly are watching the news which inform them that as the rebel army are approaching, public order in the ghetto area deteriorates. Because of this the government advise their citizen not to get out of the house. Upon hearing this Nanaly can't help but wonder if this area will become a battlefield as well. Rivalz assures Nanaly that it won't happen because Cornelia's army is here. He then changes the conversation by asking Nanaly if Lelouch has return home. Shirley can't conceal her surprise upon hearing the name so Rivalz tells her that she should be calling him "Lulu" and urges her to reconcile with him.
Shirley is even more surprised upon hearing this since she didn't know that she used to call Lelouch "Lulu". Despite the confusion on her face, Rivalz still thinks Shirley is just joking around. Meanwhile, Nina can now be seen working hard modifying Ganymede. Millay tries to persuade her to go back to school because the rebel army is approaching Tokyo. Nina, however, coldly tells Millay that she knows that Zero is coming. She then asks 'Euphemia' to wait because she'll surely avenge Euphemia's grudge. At the same time, Suzaku is still grieving inside Avalon, wondering why she ended up in this state. Suzaku is startled when someone asks him if he should tell Suzaku about it. When Suzaku turns around, he notices a blonde-haired boy who introduces himself as V.V. Meanwhile, Britannian soldiers are about to abandon the area that is being attacked by Black Knights when Cornelia appears and orders them to calm down.
Cornelia orders Glasstone knights to be on alert, the army to form battle formation on the outer of Tokyo settlement. She believes the rebellion will be subsided if they crush Zero and the Black Knights. In reverse, Zero tells his army that if they can defeat Cornelia, victory will be theirs. He then orders the army to follow the strategic arrangement and asks Diethard to watch over the command vessel. Before Zero can get out of the command vessel, however, she bumps into Kaguya, who's happy that she catches him in time. She then tells Zero that she's always been his fan ever since his debut and is here so that she can see her husband fighting for the first time. Kaguya believes that if Zero wins this battle, he would need a wife soon. Kaguya believes that Zero will win this battle because she's the goddess of victory. Zero is amused to hear this but tells the girl that he's already on contract with the devil, referring to C.C. Heh.
Meanwhile, General Bartley's experiment with Jeremiah's body ends up in explosion, causing the body to come out of the tube. Jeremiah is then awaken and greets everyone good morning. At the same time, Zero is now flying inside Gawain, informing the Britannians that he'll begin his attack at precisely 00:00. He suggests that those who wish to surrender should go to his camp's gate. There's just one problem with this. The time right now is 23:57. Heh. Inside his frame, Dalton tries his best to maintain his composure despite the injury that he suffers. Dalton, however, refuses to back down, insisting on accompanying Cornelia. Before they set off, C.C warns Zero that this is the point of no return. As it is now, the fight won't end with just area 11. The entire world will be stained with the battle that Lelouch is about to engage in. Lelouch tells C.C that he understands but before he can explain his situation, he gets a phone call....from Euphemia.
As it turns out Suzaku is the one who calls him. Suzaku asks Lelouch if he has someone that he really hates to the point he is willing to kill. Lelouch admits that this is the case so Suzaku admits that right now he is fighting while ruled by hatred. Lelouch tells Suzaku that it's okay to hate because he knows it's for Euphemia. He admits that he too has decided this a long time ago and does not plan to turn back. All of this is for Nanaly. Before the call ends, Lelouch asks Suzaku if they're friends. Suzaku confirms that they've been friends since 7 years ago. Lelouch then hangs up the phone and all of a sudden, the ground under Tokyo settlement gives away. Lelouch then tells himself that his hand is already dirty a long time ago so he doesn't mind if he ends up facing Suzaku since they're friends. Lelouch believes that destruction and loss are necessary before creation. Therefore, if his heart becomes an obstruction, it is important to destroy it. He realises now that he now has no choice but to move forward.

Impression:
Ever since last week's episode went on air, I realised that there's no other way out of the mess except to kill Euphemia. However, I didn't expect that the director will go ahead and do this to a character which seems important on a glance. If one thinks about it, there's no other way. If Zero didn't kill Euphemia, she would have killed more Japanese people and even if she recovers from the Geass effect, she would suffer a very painful remorse. What's interesting here is that Euphemia's so-called 'betrayal' to the Japanese people actually motivated them to fight for their own sake. The most interesting part about this episode, however, is the appearance of V.V, who clearly has hidden agenda when he promised to tell Suzaku about what happened to Euphemia. This brings me to another point: that Suzaku is likely aware that Lelouch is Euphemia's killer. Sure, Suzaku didn't say it but the words that he chose when he was talking to Lelouch suggests that he's aware that his enemy in the upcoming battle is Lelouch.
What's interesting about this battle is that there are so many variables. Against Zero are a few factors: Suzaku possibly knowing his true identity, a possible attack from Jeremiah, who is now fully awaken from his suspended animation state, and most of all, V.V. However, it's obvious that Zero has also come prepare. The collapsing of Tokyo settlement shows that he'll go all out using every resources in his disposal. And that won't be limited to his own army. I suspected last week that Dalton has actually been Geassed. I'd like to know if Dalton's insistence on getting close to Cornelia is actually motivated by his Geass control or just a plain loyalty. At any rate, C.C was right when she said that the battle won't stop here. Even if Zero manages to send Britannian packing, there's always a chance that they'll retaliate. I am also curious about the mysterioius, long-haired man that was shown halfway through this episode. Last but not least, I want to know the relationship between C.C and Marianne? Was she a Geass user as well?
Note: Sorry for the downtime but there's not much I can do but to wait until Dreamhost fixed the problem.
oh dear wonder what lulu's gonna do now...
I wonder if we'll retain our sanity after this cliffhanger...
Something tells me it's gonna be a long summer...
At the end, when Suzaku phoned Lelouch it was obvious that he was already aware that Lelouch is Zero, since he used Euphemia's cellphone to call him, and because V.V. (which is a boy, btw, it's been confirmed by other sources) most likely explained him the truth or atleast part of the truth before that call. Things are surely going to become interesting now that Suzaku is aware of this, and I am curious to know what V.V.'s roles is, and what are his intentions. I also do feel really sorry for Lelouch who has become victim of his own power, and has been dragged into a path of no return which forced him to even do something that horrible.
With that said, this was probably one of the best episodes of this serie and one of the best episodes I've ever seen in general in a long time. I really give props to director Goro Taniguchi and his scriptwriters for having the guts to eliminate such an important character.
Hmm... Mao got swiss cheesed and survived, Euphie got shot once, and does not make it... The wonders of medicine.

I suspect that's the case as well. The words that Suzaku chose as well as his facial expression while talking to Lelouch seems to indicate this as well. But I'm afraid we won't know for sure until Suzaku corners Zero in the battle and calls him "Lelouch". That will be in summer.
Indeed, it is going to be somewhat painful for us curious viewers, having to wait this summer to watch the end of this first season. I atleast hope it's going to be really entertaining and well-planned, since they're taking their sweet time to animate these final episodes. Taniguchi surely likes to tease us with cliff-hangers everytime.
This looks like its going to end in hell of a fight, and we get to see Orange again.
Damn you Sunrise and your summer releases!
Man I am gonna love this episode for sure.
...and let slip the dogs of war...
Carnage, slaughter, blood...in the end the strong will live and the weak will die.
Time to turn her to Euphinator XD
//Hmm... Mao got swiss cheesed and survived, Euphie got shot once, and does not make it... The wonders of medicine.//
Lulu had a character shield piercing bullet. A must in Sunrise shows
Deithard may not be loyal to Brittania, but trust me he is loyal to Zero and hence the Black Knights too.
'Bang bang' reminds me of the song Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra, which was also the theme song for Kill Bill.
...Bang Bang, my baby shot me down...
Reading this sypnosis, I can now understand how the 'Major' from Hellsing can enjoy War. At first I hated him but now I can kinda relate to how exciting and enjoyable War can be.
'Bang bang' reminds me of the song Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra, which was also the theme song for Kill Bill.
Rather than "Bang Bang" I found the song "Path Vol. 2" by Apocalyptica to perfectly fit the mood of these last two episodes, both with lyrics and melody. A real thrilling ride.
this show would really turn out stupid if suzaku obtains the geass afterall it seems as if C.C. people just gives out geass power to whoever they find
Im gonna cry
Kaguya is so short! D:
You know, this is reminding me of the Kira/Athrun setup back in SEED - minus the "KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" "AAAATHRUUUNNNNNN!!" shouting. At least, for the moment.
"I can kinda relate to how exciting and enjoyable War can be."
Maybe you should send a mail to the pentagon.
...farewell Yuffie...fare thee well...
...*giggle*...
*Has been doing his happy dance for the past couple of hours since information about 23 starting coming out*
One thing bugs me, and only one thing about this episode....Lelouch can brush off something that cute so easily!? Is he really a man?
Oh well, non-pink haired princess + way too cute = The Win. Lelouch officially has the coolest love interest harem of all time.
@Novan
That's why the Major makes such an effective Villain, because most people just can't understand him, that he seems so realistic in the way he acts. He's the perfect antagonist to the evil Alucard and the determined Integra.
Say whaaaaat? Euphemia was Lulu's first love? Long live the incest... =D?!!
& Poor Euphie, but man, I'm excited to see Orange's return.
Villetta has just finished talking to Ougi when Japanese people break the door to Ougi's house
Looks like i m the only one who is worried about what will happen to Villeta T__T
Long live the incest... =D
you got to wonder what would have happened if Marriane had not been assassinated would they have lived happily ever after i would like to think so MORE power to INCEST FACTION XD
I think it's somehow twisted that we all are happy, or at least, not sorry poor Euphenia' s death... Well I think that to much sweet can make you sick...
oh my God, he killed already 2 of his siblings what else is he going to do.
When will episodes 24 & 25 will be released?
I'm dying to know what's insane will come out.
Summer? when? May? June? July? August?
"Summer? when? May? June? July? August?"
It doesn't say on the screenshots. So I guess the writers have no idea when there will be a free timeslot to screen the program. Those bastards!!
But yeah for mayhem. I'm actually excited about the show again after feeling let down around episode 18. There's no going back for Lulu now. He's basically made a huge mess here.
he's a mess since he killed clovis. lulu is not going to make it through
Screenshot 18:
come, let's have a class photo. tallest by the side and "kids" in the center.
Carnage, slaughter, blood...in the end the strong will live and the weak will die.
Ha ha ha this is like samurai X.
I think V.V is working for the emperor. He was clearly sent to antagonise Lelouch so that he'll be more ruthless
Is this a birth of deeper relationship between Lelouch and C.C?
Well, that's what I am hoping and many fans out there. Thinking about the current relationship, Lelouch has no other choice but to choose C.C. over any other girl.
Karen is just avid follower of Zero...
Shirely is just a friend...
Who else is there?
Kaguya is still young and has a bright future ahead of her. She doesn't have to mingle with Lelouch... ^^ He's bad influence...
Also Ougi and Villetta(Chigusa) fan!!! Would Orange-kun have a part in their relationship adding conflict or such?
Whaha, what did I tell you about Nina!! >:D
(Okay, so I didn't really tell, I asked rhetorically, but you get the point. :P Whahaha!)
Tylon:
....
No. This is nothing like Rurouni Kenshin.
Novan:
Do you enjoy hearing about the war in Iraq? How about if you were fighting the war?
That's the difference between you and the Major. The Major is out there, sending his troops to die, and he's on the front-line where his life is at risk(though he's admittedly well-protected and very likely difficult to kill). You, me, and everyone else watching Code Geass, are watching a fictional war, with no consequences, and no fear of it spreading to where we live.
When Lulu said that to have a new creation, destruction is needed. That reminds me of Dark Kamui in X where he says that the earth wants to be saved. Clamp might of convinced sunrise to have incorporated the X concept to a new storyline in code geass.
Nina and Suzaku had me thinking that I was watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
United States of Japan Cool
Viva la revolution!!!!!!
And omg, Kaguya is interested in Zero?
Now what Hero of the American revolution can I compare Zero/Lelouch to...and what villain of the same revolution should Suzaku be compared to.
@Blue
Any conflict which will change the world, I support fully. For once the conflict is over, from out of the ashes, like the Pheonix, a new world will arise.
As for the war in Iraq, I support it fully. I'm just sad that they still haven't dropped a few tactical nukes. Why I support it? Its because government agencies know and understand more about the situation then any of the general public, and they ain't revealing the secrets.
Trust me when I say this mate, I'm the kind of person who is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals, the ends always Justify the means for me. Even if I have to slaughter a thousand innocent children for the sake of a better world. I don't let myself become disillusioned or delusional with a self centered sense of rightousness or silly emotions.
@LunaticChaos
Alucard isn't evil, he is more like the angel of darkness on the side of good.
Novan:
If you support it so fully, why aren't you fighting it?
And besides, I wasn't talking about whether you support it. I was asking if you ENJOY watching the Iraq war. Because if you do, then I would agree you somewhat understand the Major.
Of course i enjoy watching it.
I dont drown in hypocricy.
@Lulu
It's said that The Crumbled Stage will air in June and ZERO in July. Though ALL SPOILERS AND STUFF FOR THE LAST FEW EPS ARE SO MESSED UP SO DON'T HOLD ME RESPONSIBLE FOR IT KTHXBAI.
:D
It's already Summer in where I live as far as I can tell, but I don't know what it's like for Japan. People have been saying that because their summer break takes place in August, Summer roughly equals to August? But I still hope that 24 and 25 airing in June and July respectively is true...I can't really stand waiting until August. (not that I can stand waiting until June...but...er...it's still better)
Novan:
Well....good for you?
As for the hypocrisy though, unless you're willing to sacrifice yourself and those close to you, the comment:
"even if I have to slaughter a thousand innocent children for the sake of a better world"
Marks you as a hypocrite. The fact that you support the war and are NOT fighting it, marks you as a hypocrite. You're willing to let others die for YOUR perfect world, just not yourself.
Nothing unusual about that, since it's perfectly human to favor yourself above others. But it IS called hypocrisy.
@Blue
only 1 problem, you have no idea what I do. Being in the front lines as a soldier is not the only way to fight a war.
And since I AM willing to give my life and the life of anyother person for what I believe and don't spout crap about whats right and wrong, I doubt thats hypocricy.
Seeing as how you haven't responded with "I am/was in the army/navy/airforce" I know what you DON'T do.
Your support of the war amounts to the same as mine, in that I do my job, and my tax money goes to soldiers. Anything else is lip service and insubstantial at best.
But you are right. IF you are willing to put your life on the line, then that's not hypocrisy.
I like the part where Lelouch says that destruction and loss are needed before something can be created and that he must destroy his heart.
Lelouch was given an education appropriate to his status as a prince, he understands politics, military affairs and human nature. Making him a perfect leader for the BK.
In contrast Suzaku was most likely given education that of any normal child, though he did join the military, however he has no understanding of politics and human nature and firmly believes that certain things can be changed from the inside. What he doesnt realize that scope and time and effort it will cost will outweigh the benefits.
I bet I can predict what Lelouch and Suzaku each will do if given the following situation:
They are both imprisoned somewhere and are being tortured for a secret they hold in their head. If their captors suddenly decided to torture someone (to make the situation equal, lets make this someone a kid they both don't know) I can bet that Suzaku will be the one to easily break.
On a different note, I'm not certain Suzaku knows that Lelouch is Zero, because of this one line:
"Sora wo minaide hoshi"
I think that translates to "I don't want you to look at the skies." (Lit: "I want you to not look at the skies). He goes on to say that people will be killed in the sky and that's his reason for asking Lelouch and the others to not look. This request of his doesn't make any sense if he knew Lelouch was Zero.
Gah.
I'm going to watch Busou Renkin now, just so I can see something cheerful with Lelouch's voice.
I know Susaku believes only his way is the right way but I think his methods have been better than Lelouch...even if Japan gets its independece back Britannia is a huge empire and more troops are just going to be send back in....cause I'm guessing the Emperor will not just stand by.....So Susakus way of changing it from the inside out tho alot harder its the only way to change things...I feel really sad at Euphies dead even tho she wasnt a strong character she tried her best and died giving her life to try and help out everyone...how lelouch can cry one moment and then laugh like a maniac always amazes me xD THIS SHOW ROCKS!! xD
What does until summer means?
When does summer start in Japan? :S
....Wow...reading is one thing, but watching it...wow this episode is on a whole new level of godliness. This is like reading the first volume of Bastard!! or Berserk for the first time, the sheer level of awesomness just blows you away. Damn it all, why did they have to get behind and do those damn recap episodes! This cliffhanger is beyond evil.
Up until this point I was rooting for Lelouch. After the death of the Euphumia, switching is almost a must.
The bright side is that I can finally root for Suzaku! Looks as if he grew two balls.
>The bright side is that I can finally root for Suzaku! Looks as if he grew two balls.
hmm, I don't think that's accurate. To be more precise, it's more like he regained his old way of thinking. The reason why he didn't want to kill anyone is because he's always carried the sin of killing his father; more accurately, he always carried the trauma of his father dying. Because he was so traumatized, because his father's death was so wrong, Suzaku realized that death, in and of itself and for whatever reason, was wrong. Thus his "pacifist" stance (quotation marks because he's fine with simple violence)
However, in this episode, Suzaku's pain from losing Euphemia outweighed the old pain from losing his father. Of course, he couldn't so easily discard his persona of seven years, so he leaves the watch with Euphemia. In leaving his father's memento (a reminder of why he chose the path he did), Suzaku allows the new, pacifist part of himself to die with Euphemia and reverts back to his old self.
Well, that's my current take on Suzaku, but I'm not extremely confident about this dissection since Code Geass never fails to surprise me!
Now it's war. Hehe. I bet Suzaku now knows who Euphie's killer because of V.V. (i never knew that V.V. is a boy ...or a girl...I'm really confused)
Man, I never seen Nina looked very emo... I bet she's losing her nerve now that Euphie's dead.
I can't wait when will Suzaku and Lelouch will face each other and what will be the reaction.
So let the war begin!!!!!!!
Now that I've gotten over the whole OMG-ness of the episode, I just want to throw a theory out there:
I put the speculation in spoilers just in case, though I'm really not basing the speculation on any insider-knowledge or anything like that
Could Marianne have been from C.C.'s race of people, a race who either had a war or were taken over, with two factions (CC's and VV's factions)?
I have basically nothing to base this on, but if Marianne was of C.C's race, it would explain Lelouch's father's knowledge of (the really uber-secret but cool magical stuff) or it could be that the King's knowledge of this led to him taking Marianne as a wife. It would tie in with Marianne's death if she was involved in one of the warring factions of her race (seeing as how V.V. is now openly doing somethiing (if not directly opposing Lelouch). If V.V. is not opposing Lelouch, then is he putting Lelouch on a track to train Lulu into becoming someone who is ruthless enough to take down the King (if V.V. was working together with C.C., as I think it was V.V. who gave Lelouch the opportunity to steal the Gawain, and forcing Lelouch to kill Suzaku would harden Lelouch like nothing else). If C.C.'s race had no war, then could V.V. and C.C. be trying to avenge Marianne's death by coaching Lelouch to kill the King?
Incidentally, if Marianne was of C.C.'s race, then so would Lelouch, even if he was a half-blood. That could explain how C.C. 'found' him telepathically. (did she also call him "my prince/knight"? Because that would fit with the possibility that Marianne was a queen/royalty in C.C.'s world/race)
@Novan
"I'm just sad that they still haven't dropped a few tactical nukes."
"Its because government agencies know and understand more about the situation then any of the general public, and they ain't revealing the secrets."
These two don't mesh. If you truly believed the second, you would fully support the US government's decision to not drop tactical nukes.
Other than that, your worldview is flawed. There is a difference between taking the hard road when it's the only choice, and taking the hard road when there are easier roads.
Anyways, I'd hate to get embroiled in yet another Iraq War argument so I'll leave it at that instead of rehashing a dozen endlessly repeated arguments.
Ciao.
Oh, and in response to your scenario of Lelouch and Suzaku both being held for information while another innocent was being tortured, it shows that you don't think hard enough.
Lelouch wouldn't let the innocent be tortured if he had any other choice, and in your scenario, he does. Give information, but information which is flawed and wrong, but in a way which is hard to verify. There is always an alternative.
(this doesnt guarantee that the innocent won't be tortured, but is better than doing nothing.)
Hey Garten, about the long haired man from this episode, hes most likely from the Chinese Federation. The Japanese and Chinese would most likely join forces against Britannia in the next arc.
Amazing episode, amazing series.
I think Suzuku has enough clues to figure out Zero has geass power of absolute command (he himself was a victim of it, could not remember anything of it, etc...). I think VV confirmed him that, but did not tell him that Zero was Lelouch. He will probably that by himself later...
I am pretty sure Suzaku has been given some kind of Geass, or already had some.
I totally called the Lelouch/CC scene.
I figured that Lelouch needed some comfort after what he did to Euphie, so I imagined that, while talking to C.C., he was about to break down until C.C. came over and hugged him the exact same way she did in this epsiode. Of course, I imagined this in the Gawain so I almost immediately brushed it off o___O Glad I wasn't wrong though (aside the Gawain part)
-a Lelouch/CC shipper at heart-
Funny how this show went from a target for people to bash Sunrise, to a series raved about.
I've liked this series from the beginning. Its just interesting to see people who previously bashed the series saying how they can't wait for the next 2 episodes.
Bandwagon/fairweather fans maybe?
Will we get a happy ending or will it be an ending like death note...the hero is dead?? Guess??
I like the idea of Suzaku having a geass power...
Stupid Sunrise. I am now expecting full blown movie quality animation for the last two episodes, and I won't accept anything less.
I wonder what next season will be about.
lol maybe it will be suzaku's side of the story?
continued after 25-26? lol maybe Lelouch will die on 26? and it will become
Suzaku of the ****
lol that would be funny
sry for double posting but one question
Is nina putting her uranium know-how to use and making a nuclear bomb
Because like this story was like supposed to be in a world where nukes didnt exist.... yet
right?
There is a possibility that the Lancelot frame could be destroyed and a new frame developed for Suzaku.
Even in the Arthurian legends, Lancelot disappeared for some time.
Hmm I doubt that Suzaku got a Geass because it would have shown him looking into the camera with his eyes as Geass. I started the series this Thursday and finished this episode today and can't understand who would bash it. Pizza Hut FTW!!! Summer? FTL... >.<
@Zero
Iie! C.C. supporting Pizza Hut FTW!
@Xiero
Nah, I think it'll be a mobile nuke with some serious weaponry. She'll blow herself and the Knightmare up once she gets a deathgrip on Zero/Lelouch.
And once again I so see Kallen fighting Nina in a Knightmare battle in 24/25....no It's not my sadistic wish for my second favorite female character to beat up my least favorite character....okay maybe a little bit of wishful thinking.
Is it just me,or when Suzaku asked them to save Euphie...wasn't that just a rip from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles?
To those wonder who would bash code geass:
I know some so called "expert" who bash code geass by saying 1) code geass have no central plot (it is lelouch's story, obviously. But if you say it is Lelouch's rebellion story, then the so called "expert" would say code geass "wasted" 3 episode on Mao) 2) there are minor things in code geass which doesn't make alot of sense when it is first shown (that so called expert kept bashing the lesbian line between Nina and Euphemia saying that it didn't serve any purposes, only to shutup/ pretend he never say so after ep 23 as the purpose revealed - the whole lesbian line is to bring Nina to the battlefield)
In fact the so called expert keep bashing code geass because it makes him superior by bashing sunrise big budget mecha anime. Obviously I disagree with what the so called "expert"say.
As of ep 24-25, it should be about Lelouch trying to conquer Tokyo, though I wonder how Lelouch did it. As in anime warfare 101, the side who has more "interesting" character would win the war. And Cornalia side has Nuclear Nina (N.N?) and the return of Orange-kun, who is probably the most popular(?) character after bonta-kun lol and it is unthinkable to see Lelouch able to trash those two easily.
As of the second season, I predict it would be either 1) Lelouch road to destruction (the first season is about Lelouch road to power, it makes sense S2 would be his doom) as Ougi is ready to betray any time (especially what happen to Villeta this episode), Diethard and Lakshard would leave BK once Lelouch is no longer "interesting" and Toudou would betray if he finds out what really happen to Katase/ JLF and of course Susaku would deal the finishing blow. or 2) Lelouch attack on Britainnia home soil as Schenizer being the mid-boss while the emperor would be the final boss as the secret of C.C starts to reveal......... I can't wait until Oct for second season!
Er, cosmo, just because the last 2 episodes have been interesting, it doesn't make the other lame episodes any better. If you ask me, those 3 episodes on Mao were wasted and this series could be a lot tighter pacing wise than it currently is. There were just too much filler halfway through this season.
I think what happened was that the writers saw the plot didn't work halfway through the series and decide to change gears starting with the part where the 4 characters got stranded on an island.
I actually think the Mao part wasn't a waste at all, it served the purpouse of the enthightening of Lelouche and C.C's relationship, and it also gave some more groud to let not be surprised to the fact Lelouche would be deceived by his own power and maybe a little more of C.C's background, and in the end it was all perfect, it seemed a marriage between those two, yeah!
And coming back to the end of this arc, it was amazing but more or less predictable what woud happen, the raising of the United States of Japan was unexpected and amazing, that's so, but a farewell to Euphie was forced, appart from the fact that orengy-kun comes back, and that in the second arc it will be necessary some new challenges to Zero than only a white-flying-ever-noise pain in the ass, and if Suzaku gets the Geass, it'll be a bomb, as it already is very tense knowing that for some reason the order given by Lelouche can be reactived by saying Suzaku to live and maybe his brain refuses to dead in the final battle Lancelot VS Gawain, it's just like the Black King against the White Queen, but reforced this second with the same terms and habilities the king plays the match with.
So, let's see if they rush and releases the 24, 25 ep's soon, hoping they're not summaries or so, or at least one of them not.
Right now I'm watching the picture dramas, very original the idea, it seems a didactic way of studing long time pasagges of the bible, or of mithology or so..., but it is nice to know a bit more about this guys background, or circumstances we only imagined during the series, I'm looking forward to the rest of 'em.
This series is the best one I've watched in a time, and I'm glad it has another touche different from what a villaine can actually be, while believing his own actions are for others' sake, this one deffinitely is something Clamp/Sunrise must be really clapped for.
@cosmo
Completely agree with you, the bashers of the show are just bashing it because it's A) "mainstream" and B) It's done by Sunrise and they haven't forgiven them for GSD. Hell I know a good deal more about anime than those so called experts, with my knowledge spanning at least 150 different shows and manga. I love Code Geass because it puts a new spin on old cliches and uses the new evil Hero type that just washes your mouth clean of all those Christ-like heroes that are in a lot of other anime.
Go, Lelouch! I still support your cause ever since the beginning. And i hope Nina dies! Don't get in the way! Lelouch must confront the Emperor no matter what!
@aerolight
Yeah! Lelouch for the win
@lunaticchaos
Yeah i wanna see Karen own the living crap outta NIna. Though i think shes gonna die. Like seriously
I shall cross my fingers this summer watching 24-25 so she wont :)
@0blivion
If Marianne is of C.C's race, then there is no way she can be killed by a few gun shot, right?
Or Marianne is still alive somewhere?
I have to wonder if the reason for the long delay for the final eps of this season is because they're going back and changing what they originally came up with since it was confirmed they would have a second season. I can't think of why else they would have such a long delay with no certain time when those final episodes will air. ('summer 2007' is very vague after all.)
Code Geass: Tragedy of Lelouch.
a modern day shakesphearean tragedy. not bad. but the pace leading up to these last few episodes were quite slow. unlike in shakesphear, where tensity was always abound.
Does anyone think C.C. might have a biological relationship to Marianne? We see her talking to herself from time to time. In addition, C.C.'s lifespan has only encompassed around 7 years (we know this from her interaction with Mao). This time is also the same time Lelouch was growing up in Japan since his mother's death.
If ressurection is possible with people like Marianne, perhaps the same will happen to Euphemia?
Either this is true, or maybe C.C. has lived longer than I suspect -- there is a picture of a green haired girl in seemingly WWI times with a tank in the background -- this is also the same green haired girl in a portrait in the credits. Connection? I think so!
Fun episode.
Glad Euphie died. Wish more people died, Tomino style.
Future death list -
Nina
Kallen
Shirley
Diethardt
- In order of short to longer names ^^
On the Mao issue, story and character progression is not filler. A pointless beach episode, that's filler.
An arc that shows a few relevant plot points, such as:
1. C.C is compatible to act as a catalyst to awaken geass in more than one partner.
2. Geass is a power that grows with use.
3. Geass can grow out of control with continual use.
4. Greater the use of Geass, greater the likelihood of obsession to grow for individuals who are immune to the power (concisely, self-deception results in eroding self-esteem, resulting in greater reliance on a third party to reinforce their personalities)
5. Geass manifests differently in different people.
The arc was somewhat necessary to answer a few necessary questions for progression. Such points include:
1. Lelouch is non-unique. More Geass users exist.
2. Geass users are not immune to each other's powers.
Anyway, can't wait for the summer. I'm expecting Lelouch to really become a martyr figure, with Nina causing him disfigurement enough that the mask becomes a permanent fixture. In effect, Nina will "kill" Lelouch and only Zero will remain, except to Nunnally who can't see his face.
I expect Suzaku to have Lancelot destroyed and get laid up recuperating for awhile between seasons until Lancelot Mk II with upgraded armaments, mainly built in flight pack and Hadron cannons/counters.
Who knows, just conjecture.
Damn, I dont want Karen to die
But then again, she hasn't really been doing anything since episode 19.
Not only that, Suzaku's is going to become a killing machine. Hes going to try and kill Zero in his Gawain once and for all, and since Karen is his bodyguard. She'll protect him and will probably die
I really hope that doesn't happen. Out of all the characters, I like Lulu and Karen the best. Though i wouldn't mind Lulu dying, because I'm pretty sure he'll die a dignifyed death after doing what he needs to do (Unlike Light XP) but i definately don't want karen to die. She's just to awesome fighting to make the world a better place for her mom
(Kind of like lulu fighting for Nunnaly's sake)
I would rather have staying with Lulu till the end where they can both die after everythings been solveed... Well that's my opinion anyway
Judging from the manga about Nunally (Nunally's Nightmare) receiving a Geass, does anyone think that she will get a Geass in the future anime episodes?
I personally don't think Lelouch will die. He sells too many toys. :P
But to be honest, I think the character we know as Lelouch will become how Zero is now...hidden behind the mask. He'll get a physical scar to go along with his emotional trauma.
Besides, he needs to live most of all since he deserves death most of all. Pain and tragedy, that's his future.
I really do want to see how the schoolmates turn out. Will Shirley's memories return? I think they will. The fact that they kept her around means she'll actually play an integral part later. Probably another tragic death to add to Lelouch's body count. The class president and the sidekick, they're too underneath notice to merit deaths that matter.
Still, an interesting twist, for instance, is if Nunnally had gained Geass and we didn't know it. If Geass is a latent genetic ability that can be triggered, perhaps when she opens her eyes there will be something unexpected waiting for us. ^^
Its unlikely that Lelouch will be disfigured, he already needs to wear a mask now since he can no longer turn his geass off.
As for why people don't like him, I just cant understand people. I guess what Dr. Gregory House says is true, people are fools.
Lelouch is a realist, he doesnt suffer fools, he is efficient and intelligent, he plans ahead into the future, and in dire circumstances he can usually figure out a solution, he calculates far ahead, he understands the strengths and weaknesses of people. Even when a situation turns for the worse, he can turn it around for his advantage, he is fighting to build a better future for not only his sister but for others as well.
If you want to compare him to another figure, I would probably compare him to Sherlock Holmes, both were intelligent, calculating, understood the nature of people, could plan ahead and reverse many dire circumstances.
But then again most of you probably prefer Suzaku's delusional idea of Peace then Lelouch's idea of Freedom.
Lelouch's rebellion is like the bakumatsu of the meiji restoration, he is fighting and killing for the sake of a better future where people will have equal rights and privilages.
Is he rebelling for his own selfish needs? No.
Is he foolishly throwing away the lives of his men? No.
In fact, he himself has dirtied his hands more then any of his fellow Black Knights, all for the sake of a better future.
He is a mix of Katsura, Okubo and Battosai.
Ahh... kenshin.... good times...
Lol nunnaly getting the geass would be awesome so when she can open her eyes she'll be able to be geassed by Lelouch.
Her geass is to see into the future or something right? the thing similar to what CC can do when she comes into physical contact with other people. She can see into the their past.
Well, she could see people futures by touching them. That means she will eventually learn lulu is Zero right? (cuz you know hand touching and stuff) as well that would mean she would also know that lulu is the one that killed clovis and Eupphie
Will she forgive him or what? that would make me pull my hair out
But thats only if that happens
Wow i think it would actually suck to have geass. Once you lose control its a drag. Though Mao would only hurt himself with his uncontrolled geass and Nunnaly would only get a massive headache she touches alot of ppl in the crowd. Lelouch can accidently give ppl orders by accident
Anyway my question is... has lelouch turned evil? (Since the spoilers and all that) novan said he was doing this for the world which i agree, he also said that he wouldn't care about how much blood he would shed right? So that would mean hes still fighting for the greater good hes just given up on his emotions as well as being lulu and become Zero full time
However, light also started out being emotionless and saying he would fight only for the greater good of the world... but in the end he got carried away
but then again a major difference would be that Light was really scareed of dying and thus he died a death with no dignity. While lelouch
"People should only kill if they are ready to be killed" and he lives up to that right. Like Novan said he is the one with the bloodiest hands
Cuz right now i still think Lelouch is a good guy and it is just because of an accident that caused him to do kill eupphie and that made him so miserable that he told himself that this was enough and that emotions would only get in his way so he gets rid of them knowing that that this is only the beggining of what he is about to lose, and whatever it is he is prepared for it.
That is my reasoning that Lelouch is still a good guy does anyone see a flaw? plz tell me i want to know XD
However, if things goo on like this. I dont see how Zero will hold out in the new world (if it succeeds). I think by then he will start to feel bad for what he has done and by then the geass would've probably taken over his eyes completely (Left and Right). This would mean he could only be Zero forever.
and thats harsh.. (only if it happens)
:( Great episode, but I cried.
That was saad.
Godamn cliff hangers.
i'm sad to see that moment...
Hey Garten remember how u said C.C. is Irish? well I read on animenewsnetwork tat Geass means contract in Ireland xD So I thought ah now it makes sense no wonder she is wearing Irish clotting in the one ending song xD well it may just be my misintepertration haha but I thought it was coo
If lulu and cc and karen dies in ep 23 it will be greater fun and have greater shock value.
euphie died
lulu felt guilty and kill himself
karen defeated by lancelot and killed
japan in chaos
There is a difference between senseless violance and controlled violence.
Controlled violence exists for a defined purpose, senseless violence is just anarchy and chaos.
Concerning that comment on incest:
If you think about it a little, who else can the Royal Family engage with as that would dilute their bloodline. Consequently, since there is only one Royal Family, there is bound to be incest to 'keep' the bloodline to themselves.
As for Viletta, I hope she doesn't die because it would be interesting to see how her romance with Ougi plays out.
And. Wow. Tragic. Just when Lelouch and Euphie are able to cooperate his Geass becomes unleashed. Must have been heartrending to Lelouch, cooperating/reuniting with your first love only to order her to commit genocide >.>
I'd like to find out more about how the royal family interacted with one another before Lelouch was shipped off to Japan. Would also be better if they showed his emotional side a little more often instead of his maniacal laughter -.-
All in all, a totally awesome series that caught me hook, line and sinker =D
wait a sec ... i think i know why Suzaku think lelouch is zero!cos he know that she dosent know that he alive so he wont have his no.furthermore there only 1 person she been with that has his face conceal which is lelouch!
this is really cool, it drawings a bit looks like clamp drawings
damn it's too long for me to wait until summer.
hey! i want to know something, just how many children do the emperor of Brittania have?
Looks like it's Kira/Athrun-style this summer...
Shame Euphie had to die. Maybe if someone had incapacitated her.
I think I'll do a fanfic of this soon.
To those who want to know when Summer is in Japan, It's between July to August. 3 months.
Damn! Made a mistake! Forgot June...
My bad.
Wow this has been one of the best anime I have seen in a good while. A lot of surprise twists and crazy shit that I never thought would happen. Also I can't stop thinking about what is going to happen to Villetta.. :'( But I guess all we can do is wait for now....
Could it be that.. the Emperor of Britannia is preparing Lelouch to be the next ruler of Britannia ?
After seeing how Lelouch's personality developed through all the events.. and his words "destruction and loss are needed before something can be created".. this is just match with the concept of Ragnarok.
Remember when Emperor heard about Clovis death.. he said something about the beginning of Ragnarok.
Compare to other Emperor's children.. I think Lelouch is the perfect candidate to hold the next throne of Britannia.
well i saw on a site and apparently there's gonna have a second season for this serie, 24 and 25 won't be the end. this is the only thing that comforts me... please lulu...don't die TT snif
i don't think that suzaku knows that lulu is zero, i admit that V.V's words are suspicious, but when suzaku talks to lulu in the phone, he's so calm and his tone is normal as usual. oppositely, i think he doesn't wanna let lulu know that he's going to kill zero and all so... also there's another point, suzaku likes nanalie very much, maybe not like Euphy but, he likes her, and lulu too, he won't do anything unless he makes sure by himself. if V.V really told him about lulu=zero, i guess he'll go and talk to him face to face. i mean...they're friends after all, right? 7 yrs' friendship won't just end in a moment. I watched that passage several times, just to make sure, and there's only two possbilities as i deduced...
About lulu's eye, i think it can be fixe quite simply, he just needs to cover his geass eye with an eyeshade (like roy XD) and that's all. about all what he did... i support him, really, after all, he did all these for nanalie right? and for the justice of his family (his mom, his sister and him). the real bad guy is that Britannia king. well am not saying that revenge is unguilty, it's just that, lulu really has a reason. between all the briatannia and japanese in the series, i think lulu really is the right one... maybe well he does have an evil side but, everyone does, right?
1) I heard that last 2 episodes will be on 21st , 24 or 25th Jule... but as you know nothing is for sure. I hope it will be then because I CAN'T WAIT TO SE WHAT WILL HAPPEN !!!!
2) My opinion for last episodes:
- I think that Suzaku knows who Zero is. And it's obvious that he knows what Zero (Lulu) did to Euphe, because of emotion and moves on face.
- I believe that Nina will have big role in last 2 episodes, but she will die (even maybe Kalen or Suzaku might kill her)
- Orange will make confusion on the battlefild but hey we like some mess and good fight.
- There's big chance that Suzaku recieve geass! which I would like to see he with some powers
- I don't Suzaku killed Lulu's mother (as some of you think because of vision when he touched C.C.), I am more confused because of his visions in ep 19 when they were on island and going down into th cave... Who was the person he saw?!
- Sherly will back her memories, only question is would she forgive Lulu?
- And of course there will be good battle!
3) Things which I hope that will happen, but they are more just only dreaming:
- Euphemia is alive because of something (perhaps because of V.V., or doctors do the same which they did to Orange) - I'm sad because she died, she and Suzaku were such a good couple!
- Good fight between Suzaku and Lulu !
- Avalon in batte too
- Because of mess which Euphe did, maybe will Suzaku during battle talk throw open broadcast and tell the true about what happend to Euphe to all.
4) And know some questions: =)
- Is it true that it will be second sesson of Code Geass? Any concusion what will be there?
- What do you think about Suzaku's vision in ep 19?
- What will happen with Cecil and Loydd (pr Floyd I can't remeber-person who worked on Lancelot and Avalon)? What's his conection with that woman in Black knights who is important for Knights?
You could realize from this above that I like Code Geass!!! Good... no, extra show from Sunrise, not like Gundam Seed and Destiny, but it also very good! Can't wait for last 2 episodes!
First and foremost, the flowers :d I've been reading this blog for a while (although I had never posted before) and I really like your comments and opinions Garten (tough I don’t always agree with what you say, I usually do). Oh, and btw, sorry if my spelling/grammar/etc. sucks, but English is not my first language nor can I practice it much (I’m from a Spanish speaking country) so well, please bear with me ^^u
Well first of all, while most of you probably know this already, episodes 24 and 25 are scheduled for air on 21 of July on a special event where only like 500 or something lucky bastards will get to see it (like some kind a of prerelease for a movie) and apparently, it will be aired on TV the week after, on 28 of July (this is unconfirmed)
Now some personal opinions about the series and what’s to come (since I have quite a lot to say and want to make myself as clear as possible, I will pretty much divide it in topics so anyone interested in the pleasure of debate, feel free to read just whatever topic picks your curiosity or just if you like to read a lot, go for all of it xd):
(of course, all of the following starts from the assumption that you have already seen at least till ep. 23)
- The Geass: the biggest mystery so far and probably what the second season will be all about (well, besides the whole world conflict between Britannia, China, EU (or was it UE? well, the Europeans) and the newly founded, USJ (United States of Japan). The only thing I will say about it now is that from what we have seen so far it’s almost certainly that these powers are pretty much ESP/psychic powers (Lelouch’s mind control, Mao’s mind reading, C.C.’s ability to project images or revive memories for people, Nunnaly’s ability to see the future (from her manga, an alternate world where Lelouch disappeared after his meting with C.C. but it’s still an official work from the creators) and if V.V. ends up being a geass user too, I would say he has some sort of teleport ability). And so while we will certainly see more “geass users” in the future season, it’s unlikely that their powers will be anything like darker than black or similar series. And with all this my point is that it’s unlikely that Suzaku will get a geass in the future seeing how he’s the strong and idealistic yet not so sharp type of person (he said it himself to lulu when rescuing Nunnaly, he’s the soldier, lulu the strategist) and therefore, psychic abilities that are usually more strategically in their use than just plainly destructive powers wouldn’t suit him. The only type of ability I can see for him is some kind of telekinesis (just to move small/not that heavy things tough, not an Akira kind of power).
- V.V.: well he’s certainly one of the most intriguing characters for the moment seeing that he’s certainly related to the Geass (like the emperor himself) but to witch extent remains to be seen. From his name he seems to be related to C.C. but from her flashbacks we have seen that her race/people/etc. have the same “Geass mark” on their forehead that she has so the fact that V.V.’s character design clearly shows his unmarked forehead (witch is a fact on itself, C.C.’s mark is usually hidden by her hair, while we can certainly say that V.V. doesn’t have it… sorry if I’m being kind of redundant with all this ^^u) means it’s likely he’s something else altogether (tough another fact is we have only seen females from C.C.’s “people” so who knows if males are different… still it’s unlikely). So indeed, the better explanation for him would be that he’s another geass user himself (read Geass explanation above) and also is likely that he’s related to the emperor somehow. Maybe he could even be the first prince or something (just wild speculation here, seeing how Schneizel and Cornelia are the second prince and princess, there should be a first prince and princess too… or maybe being the second is just the closest to the emperor…)
- Suzaku knows Zero’s true identity: I actually disagree with pretty much everyone on this one. The reasons: first of all, V.V. just said he would explain to him what happened to Euphie… so of course is highly likely that he told him that Zero has some kind of power to make people do things against their will and that they can’t remember whatever they did. This will immediately make sense for Suzaku ‘cause he already experienced it on the Islands when he was in front of Zero and then suddenly waked up in the beach with no memory of what had happened and (once they where “rescued”) was arrested and could hear himself disobeying the orders and even his own “ideals” with the “I have to live at all cost”, etc. So indeed, since he’s already on a I-hate-Zero-mode, he would immediately believe that story, no matter how strange it could sound. But if V.V. had also told him of Zero’s true identity, he wouldn’t just go ahead and believe it. I mean, c’mon people, if some strange tran leprechaun suddenly appears behind you and gives you a reason that makes sense to hate even more someone you already hated, you certainly believe it, but if he suddenly tells you that person is also your best friend (so far, besides Euphie, Lulu and Nunnaly are definitely Suzaku’s most important persons in the world) would you just buy it? Just like that? I don’t think so (besides, till we don’t know more about V.V., please don’t come with some kind of, “he used his “godly” powers to convince him, he “showed” him it’s true, etc”). Second, his call to Lulu, has nothing that proves whether he knows or not about his identity. From my point of view, he’s calling for a simple reason, he wants support. He, after all this years from the death of his father and all his stupid babblings about justice/love/peace/let’s all be nice to each other/etc. from the whole season, has finally decided to throw it all trough the window (his old self, represented by him leaving behind his dad’s memento on Euphie’s death body) and fight for just one plain reason: his hate for the one that killed his beloved. And he’s not gonna stop whether he has to kill innocent Britannians/Japanese/whatever, he will bring hell to the sky and so, he doesn’t want the ones that he loves (Lulu, Nannaly, the guys from the students council) to see him doing all this. In this call, he’s pretty much like a sinner who goes to church and tell the priest that he just did something bad, he wants to feel that someone else knows so it’s not that heavy a burden and can be forgiven. And finally, just a plain plot reason. If Suzaku already knows that Zero is Lulu and wants to kill him and that’s it, there’s nothing more into it. But if he doesn’t know the writers still have that extra drama/shock/climax that could be brought on whatever moment they decide to reveal his identity, whether it’s to the whole world or just to Suzaku himself.
And well, that’s pretty much what I had to say about the future of this series, hope someone reads at lest some of it (yeah, I know it ended up being waaaaay to long Xx) and has an opinion to share.
Byees
Damn you Garten, you always talk bad things about this series, but this entire anime is WONDERFUL!!
now i don't believe in your reviews :D
Code Geass ep 24&25 coming 28 July 2007!
Episodes 24 and 25 rocked!!!! In the next season I am betting Nunally gets a Geass of her own, Lelouch lives and suzaku dies.
I just seen the final 2 episodes 24+25. The ending kept you wanting some more. So my one and only question is, Will there be a second season and if so, when?
I just saw the last two episodes (24-25). Very climatic. But Im hoping thats not how the series will end. The story seems unfinished. The writers seemed to rush the story and didnt know how to end it. I wanted to know if theyre will be a second season and if so when, since this anime really deserves another one. I hope someone can give an answer.
this is the second season. where can i find ep 24 and 25
