Code Geass ep.15

This is a bit disappointing after last week's episode. I think the result of the mindwipe is a bit unrealistic. I mean what's the point of doing this if it actually puts Lelouch in even bigger problem? In addition to this, there aren't that much plot going on apart from Mao and C.C's story. I am glad that this particular arc seems to be over for now. Mao is probably the worst character on this series. He's way too over the top and ridiculous. His character design is also a disappointment especially compared to the other characters. I think the only subplot that interest me at the moment is the possibility of Ougi/Villetta pairing. There's so much conflict to be mined out of this. On the other hand, what happened to her and Shirley reminds me a bit too much of Death Note, so I wonder if the writers unintentionally use Death Note's plot points in this series.

The episode begins with Lelouch asking C.C if she is his enemy or ally, pointing out the fact that Mao has Geass which can read people's mind. C.C confirms this, telling Lelouch that on different people, Geass manifested in different manner. In the case of Mao, if he concentrates, he can read the mind within the proximity of 500 metres. And if he feels like it, he can read deep into one's consciousness. In a mind to mind battle, he'd be Lelouch's worst enemy. When Lelouch asks C.C if she made a contract with the guy, she confirms this, telling him that it was done 11 years ago. Lelouch sarcastically remarks how Mao is his 'big sempai' but he wonders if this 'big sempai' is his enemy. C.C denies this, claiming that Mao's objective is her. Lelouch, however, is not happy because now Mao can tell Zero's identity to the army or police. Moreover, he was also maiming Shirley. Because of this, he asks C.C if there is any requirement to his power.

C.C informs Lelouch that Mao's power is strong and doesn't have the limitation that requires him to look at a person's eyes like Lelouch's. Having said that, Mao's power can't be turned off and therefore he'd always hear the minds of those around him even if he does not wish for it. Cut to a scene of Mao looking insane inside the library because he can hear everyone's thought all at once. Mao calms down after he wears a headphone and hears C.C's reassuring voice from a tape. Because Lelouch is afraid that Mao will go after his biggest weakness, Nanaly, he decides to install security camera around his place of residence. Nanaly is delighted that Lelouch stays at home since he hasn't been doing much of this lately. At the same time, Mao is being told by a weapon seller that he can't sell arms to someone without permission. In response, Mao points out that he sold some to the Black Knights before using his Geass on the seller to find out more info.

Meanwhile, C.C tells Lelouch that she knows protecting Nanaly is important to him so she thinks he should not wait around. Lelouch denies this that he waits around, claiming that he's sent the Black Knights to look for the guy. C.C argues that doing so is pointless so she suggests that Lelouch uses her to lure Mao out since his target is her after all. Lelouch, however, ignores her and instead asks C.C if he'd turn like Mao if he continues to use Geass. When C.C does not answer, he asks her if turning into that condition is actually the result of Mao not fulfilling his contract with her. In reply C.C informs Lelouch that Geass power increases while being used and those who can't control the power will be swallowed by this power. Lelouch becomes angry upon hearing this since C.C still made contract to him and Mao despite knowing this. Lelouch thinks C.C is cruel because she threw Mao away once he was unable to achieve the contract.

On top of this, she doesn't clean up her mess by either taking the power back or at least kill the person. Lelouch becomes angry when he remembers what happened to Shirley. In order to prepare for Mao's next action, C.C decides to move to the place next to Lelouch's home. Lelouch reminds her that the place is student council's clubroom but C.C, however, doesn't give a hoot. Meanwhile, Suzaku is informed by Cecile that as a Knightmare pilot, he must undergo a medical checkup tomorrow after school. Suzaku agrees to this and asks Cecile if there is a way to meet Princess Euphemia. Lloyd tells Suzaku that it's impossible for Suzaku. Cecile, however, points out that someone of Earl stature like Lloyd can do it. Not surprisingly, Suzaku is surprised to know that Lloyd is actually an Earl. Meanwhile, Lelouch asks Millay to stop people from using the clubhouse for a while. Millay thinks that's impossible but she wonders if his identity as a Prince is known.

Lelouch denies this, claiming that the only people who are aware that he's alive are the Ashford families. Upon hearing the name of her family, Millay sighs and tells Lelouch that she has another marriage proposal coming up and she might not be able to escape from this one. Because of this she wonders what she should do. Before Lelouch can answer her, they hear Shirley greeting Millay and approach them. Much to Millay's surprise, Shirley does not seem to know Lelouch even though she recognises him as the guy she met at the Narita monument. After Shirley left the area, a shifty Lelouch explains to Millay that they had a fight. At the same time, C.C can be seen beating up a thug in her attempt to track down Mao. Since the guy doesn't know where Mao is, he suggests that she goes to either police or Black Knights but C.C doesn't like either option. That night, Shirley is confused because she can't find her diary, unaware that Lelouch is burning it.

Meanwhile, the Black Knights inform Zero that they still haven't been able to find Mao so they wonder if they should contact Kyouto. Zero thinks it's unnecessary and prefers to focus only on Kantou. Meanwhile, Villetta wakes up in a room and finds Ougi asking him why she passed out at a place like that. However, when Ougi asks her for her name, it appears that she has forgotten about it. Ougi realises that Villetta probably suffers from amnesia and true enough, she doesn't remember a thing about Zero. Having said that, she's glad that a good person like Kaname was the one who found her. Meanwhile, Lelouch gets a phone call from Mao at the clubhouse. Mao knows that Lelouch is with C.C at the moment. After the phone ends, C.C informs Lelouch that she wants to end her contract with him and return to Mao. Lelouch wonders if C.C intends on betraying him but C.C doesn't know what he's talking about since they were not friends to begin with, just accomplices.

Lelouch tries to stop C.C but she sarcastically points out that he sounds like Mao now. Lelouch tells C.C that she belongs to him and tries to use Geass on her. C.C turns around and informs him that as she said before, Geass doesn't work on her. Having said that she assures Lelouch that she won't mention him to Mao, will leave his Geass as it is now, and promises that he won't have to meet Mao again. Meanwhile, Suzaku's physical examination shows that he's in top condition. However, his examiner wonders if Suzaku unconsciously compares himself to his father. At the same time, C.C is inside an amusement park when the Merry-Go-Round suddenly lits up the area. Upon seeing Mao riding one of the horses, C.C calls Mao a child. She reminds Mao of what she said before but Mao thinks it was all lies and convinced that C.C loves him. As a proof, Mao lets C.C hear her own voice recording from his headphone, featuring her thanking him.

Code Geass screenshotCode Geass screenshotCode Geass screenshot
Code Geass screenshotCode Geass screenshotCode Geass screenshot

This prompts a flashback to the time when they were together. Back then Mao had problem controlling the voices so C.C asks him to only listen to her voice. In the present time, Mao tells C.C that all that he wants is her and he doesn't care about Lelouch. C.C asks Mao to stop and points a gun at him, claiming that right from the beginning, she was only using him. Meanwhile, Lelouch finds out from the voice recorder on his phone that C.C was just acting back then. Back to C.C, she finds herself unable to shot Mao because Mao has already shot her first. Mao the nutcase thinks that C.C not shooting him is a proof that she loves him. C.C once again repeats that she is only using him but Mao refuses to believe this and shoots her arms and legs. He then tells C.C that he has built a house in Australia. Unfortunately C.C is too big to take in an airplane. Because of this, he intends on making her compact by cutting her into pieces with a chainsaw.

C.C wonders if this is her punishment but crazy Mao tells C.C that this is a form of his thanks. All of a sudden Lelouch appears on the large screen in front of Mao, informing him that he's in Tokyo Tower and thereby out of Mao's 500 metres range. Lelouch then asks Mao if he knows C.C's name since he knows C.C's real name. Mao becomes upset to hear this and wonders why C.C won't tell him and yet she told Lelouch. Lelouch eggs Mao even more by saying that he should have known by now that C.C belongs to him. Mao becomes even angrier when Lelouch claims that he has seen all of C.C and starts hacking the screen away. As the screen falls apart, Lelouch declares that Mao has lost. Mao then hears police's voices and before he realises it, they have surround him. In the background, Lelouch who now wears a police uniform, picks C.C up. Mao is surprised to see Lelouch because he thought Lelouch was at the Tokyo Tower.

Code Geass screenshotCode Geass screenshotCode Geass screenshot

Lelouch calls Mao an idiot because that was just a recording. Mao thinks he can still defeat Lelouch but Lelouch is not taking any chance and order the police, who are under his Geass power, to shoot Mao. Later on, C.C informs Lelouch that when she made a contract with Mao, he didn't know parent's love, good or evil, or reading and writing. The Geass power also ends up isolating him from others so she ended up being her best friend and lover. In response Lelouch tells C.C that he does not intend on losing to Geass. He wants to control and master it so he can change the world. He will also realise his wish and hers, fulfilling the contract that Mao could not achieved. C.C wonders if his words are supposed to be of comfort, pity, or sense of attachment. Lelouch doesn't answer this but instead suggest that they form a contract but this time it's from him to her. C.C agrees with this and shakes Lelouch's hand in response.

Impression:

Mao is such a douchebag, an idiot, a loser, and a nutcase to boot. Everytime I hear him saying "Chigau, chigau, chigau!", I feel like emptying leads to his non-existent brain and ask the idiot to shut the hell up. What a pathetic villain Sunrise has come up with here. But then again, I can't remember when a villain on Sunrise's original show has ever been interesting or threatening. Unless it's a manga adaptation, I should just give up expecting a good script from Sunrise. The only purpose to Mao I can see is to show C.C's unpleasant side and to isolate Lelouch from Shirley. The problem with this is that we already know that C.C is not exactly the most honest person on the show. As for the second one, I'd say it's been quite useless so far. To begin with, what the Hell was Lelouch thinking? He would have been in less of a trouble now if he only wiped her memory of Zero. Not her entire memory of being with him.

What would he do now? Avoiding student council altogether? Sooner or later Millay will wonder why Shirley doesn't recognise Lelouch. If he wants a complete mindwipe, he should have done it in a way so that Shirley won't stay around at the school. This is really disappointing after last week's episode. Although come to think of it, the series' quality hasn't exactly been stellar in the first place. The only subplot that I'm interested right now is the Ougi/Villetta pairing because I can see a good drama coming out of it....assuming Sunrise is capable of writing such thing. IIRC, Villetta has been quite proud of her pure blood. If she really suffers from amnesia now and falls for Ougi, I wonder how she'd feel later on when she finds out that she has fall for a Japanese man. Would she uses him or would she be at odds due to her feelings for him? If Villetta lies about her amnesia, then I'd like to see how she uses her relationship to ruin Zero's plan.

I guess Lelouch was being careless (and overly emotional) when he geassed Shirley, for all his genius, and didn't take that into full consideration. But well...flawed geniuses are more interesting than perfectionists, IMHO. Maybe that'll come back and bite him later, I suppose, if he lets her run unchecked (though I don't see her regaining all her memories per se, she could still cause plenty of trouble ).

As for Mao, he sure looked dead there, but I guess for Sunrise it could be "just a flesh wound" if need be.

Now this just really pisses me off. I didn't really like Mao to be honest I thought he was just created to be a "Shirley-Killer". He's only appeared in about what 3 episodes (He made an appearance in episode 13 walking around a fountain) then they have him psychologiclly torturing Shirley and then Lelouch geasses her. And what does it all amount to nothing nada. It doesn't make much sense since SOMEONE is going to realize something is wrong since she doesn't remember Lelouch and "having an argument" doesn't cut it. I haven't seen the episode yet to be honest I'm just ad libbing this from what I read. Even though I don't like Mao and am happy to see him dead even I think this is just plain silly to build him up then just kill him same goes for Shirley's treatment.

You see..this is exactly what I am talking about. I have said this numerous times during previous episodes. The pace in this series is soo inconsistent and rushed that it turns to be very uninspiring and messy. I would understand if Mao was only involved within a span of 3-5 episodes. At this point, we have no idea if he will come back. It looks very unlikely right now but it's not something to entirely rule out since this is Sunrise, who are known to somehow bring back the dead miraculously.

Even if he did come back to life or not, there is a godawful trend that is occuring in this episode, which is the lack of information regarding the character's past. Sunrise has a problem in terms of explaining pasts with characters. Mao is a perfect example. All we know is that he got Geass when he was young and as a oprhan. That's it. Nothing more. We have no knowledge about his parents. It doesn't explain how he lost contact with C2 and how C2 even manage to get away from him.

According to bloggers and the first volume of the DVD, there is a short 4 minute clip that shows Suzaku and Lelouche's past. I don't understand why they can't balance it out between the main storyline and the DVD extras. I mean, it's one thing to add extras for fans regarding their favorite characters, but to clearly show no story of the past regarding the main characters in the primary storyline is totally unacceptable. I understand they want to make money from the dvds. However, they must give a little also instead of shoving the DVDs on our throats in order to find more information that somehow ties to the storyline.

This series is very comparable to Gungrave for the PS2 (not the anime, so don't go AWOL on me). The PS2 Gungrave game had everything in terms of style and characters. However, it was very very short and a mediocore storyline at best. As far as I'm concerned, this is what I am seeing from Code Geass also. I see lots of effort and production in terms of animation and music. Character development is a mess, plot is going in different directions and Sunrise is following the steps of a typical mech anime you see constantly from their other franchises like Gundam.

I'll tell you this...at least Gundam SEED had better pacing than Geass. This is just totally ridiculous. I am very close to dropping this series altogether myself.

OTOH what difference would it make if we knew that? Would it add to the development of the story? Do we need to know why CC left him? Would it be more satisfying if we knew that his parents died by slipping on a banana? What else should have been cut out to make time for that additional information? I can think of several situations how things might have happened to result in the status quo and none of those have any impact on the ongoing story. Or as for other characters, do I need extra info on the childhood of the hot dog vendor who got bullied or Orange-kun's glory days?

If they add a bit of background in those DVD extra thingies then that would be nice, but I seriously wont loose sleep about what the exact nature of the fallout between Mao and CC was, as it's not important to Lelouche's story at hand. Mao, as far as I can tell, was a plot device to make a few things happen (although I think it might have been better to do that without a Mao arc) and strengthen the bond between Lelouche and CC and to give a bit of background about CC's past activites and about the geass powers as a bonus. Mao is a tool to flesh out another character, not a focal story point himself.

Although I quite like the part where Lulu says "CC is mine", this Ep. is quite boring to me because well...Mao. I think he is such a flaw to this great anime. He made this ep. looks like Higurashi indeed and I'm so irritated that Lulu has to waste an episode to get rid of him (by claiming he knows CC's real name and that she is his.. quite what a soap opera hero does, never expected this out of him really) But annoying as hell Mao may be, I didn't expect him to be rid off this fast. But judging from the preview, could it be that the person observing CC and Lulu upstair is Mao back from death? heh..a Gundam Seed deja vu...

Someone told me Shirley might go back to Britannia which I quite like the idea but after watching this Ep. I guess Sunrise still has more role for her. Dunno.. quite a relief to see her still in action yet a disappointment at the same time for a plot hole.

One more thing; I'm not so sure but I think I heard Nunnally mentioned "Schneizel Nii-sama", and in a good way too. Unlike Lelouch, she is so unaware of her situation and status... I wonder if she ever asked Lulu why they both didn't return to their royal family.

PS - what's with chainsaw and Viletta's breast?? Hehe...quite something even for an anime that airs 1.30AM.

The plotholes are amazing in this episode. Does Lelouch actually think "we had a fight" would cut it in the short run, even? Somebody's bound to notice pretty soon that her behaviour isn't that of a girl pretending she doesn't know a guy. And what about that smugness of not staying around until you know your enemy is really, really dead? That's two, three occasions against Lelouch now. You'd think he'd be more careful.

He's a very smart boy, but he's still just a boy.

I quite like the character tidbits they threw out here, though. Like the Schneizel comment. The Earl thing. The final answer of whether Millay Ashford knows. (Who does she like, anyway? Talk about confusing signals) The main 'meat' isn't too thrilling, it's the little things. But I still thought LL's hesitation at taking CC's hand was a nice touch.

>>>quite what a soap opera hero does, never expected this out of him really

You didn't expect over-the-top scripting/acting from the guy who wrote the "Allies of Justice" speech? It's perfect for getting on Mao's nerves. Ironic; she just called him a doutei bouya a few eps ago.

Ouroboros, I can see what you are trying to say. What I am trying to say is that good general information is required when a character has a big impact in the storyline. Any character that plays a major part in the storyline has a back story. It's a rule of thumb.

Do we need to know why CC left him? ---> Of course. It explains tons of things, mainly her true purpose. I'm sure she will explain it though since she never really answered Lelouche's question of why she didn't take Mao's powers away.

Although I have mention all this, you can't deny the pace of Geass is very inconsistent. That is my main argument. I can understand your point about how excessive information on a character is not required. Nevertheless, I still think relevant information is necessary that ties into the storyline. DVD extras is a perfect way to exploit some pointless info.

I can agree on that one at least partways. As I touched on in my reply above, I'm not really happy about the inclusion of Mao. Instead of "wasting" 2-3 episoden on him, which have next to nothing to do with the main plot, it might have been better invested in a storyline involving one of the plenty ongoing conflicts and still induce all the changes the Mao arc did. But he's there, so let's see how that will develop. As for CC's true purpose, I'm sure that we'll get more than enough further info on her, as her story is still ongoing and I wouldn't expect the storywriters to show their whole hand, while the game is still ongoing (this includes other characters as well, who are still part of the story developments). Overall, I think the inclusion of Mao was the weakest decision the writers made so far and they should have left him out, since his rather isolated existance for only a few episodes feels somehow tacked on. As for the rest of the series, to my own surprise I'm rather entertained. I didn't have much hope after the, in my opinion, not so great first episode, but a lot of my overall impression hinges on how or whether they'll manage to pull everything off in the end.

1. The recipient being overpowered and loses to the power of Geass. This could lead to mental unstability as is experienced by Mao
2. The recipient is able to take control of Geass power and make best use of it.

@Kyouya
Of course, C.C desires the later as this indicates that there is high probability that the person will succeed in fulfilling her wish. As for Mao, he lost and C.C realized that he couldn't fulfill the contract with his state of mind. Thus, she abandoned him. I know it's pretty heartless and it's one of her big mistakes. But to make a contract with a six-year-old child might indicate her desperation for her wish to be fulfilled (it must be very important to her) and that they are only a few potential Geass recipients?? And the reason why she didn't take away Mao's Geass might be an important secret that Sunrise will reveal in the future episodes. I speculated some other reasons for Mao's abandonment but felt quite lazy to type it out. :p But yeah, I do agree with you that they should at least reveal why she abandoned Mao in this eps.

"It doesn't explain how he lost contact with C2 and how C2 even manage to get away from him."
I think this particular issue is not really that important to be answered. Cuz we can deduct why she managed to get away.. Probably it goes like this..
We know that there is about four-year gap b/w C.C's contract with Mao and the scene in the first episode showing C.C observing Lelouch. We don't know when exactly she abandoned him, but for a kid like Mao, it would be difficult for him to track down C.C (Well, it's pretty evident that he is not an evil genius like Lelouch). C.C is probably captured and put in the capsule in the seven years after the war. There are only a few who knows about the experiment and thus, lower the probability of Mao easily finding C.C.

"Character development is a mess, plot is going in different directions"
I don't think the plot is in a mess. C.C's mystery and the whole crushing Britannia thing are the main plots. Shirley and Mao arcs are just two of important subplots used for the main characters' developments (Lelouch in particular: how he was forced to throw away his hesitation and go down the path of carnage, Suzaku: next eps, C.C: anybody?).

@Xiero: "Does anyone really think Mao just died?"

According to next episode (eps. 16) summary from various anime magazines (Newtype Feb, Animage Feb, etc), Mao is still alive and will capture Nunnaly for revenge against Lelouch. Seriously, Sunrise needs to give a good explanation to why he's still alive after being shot like that (I can't accept the fact that Shirley did not go back to the mainland. It would be pretty unnatural for her behavior around Lelouch and her erased memories about Lelouch to go unnoticed. And there is Nunnaly too.)

@jay: "The name Mao sounds awfully like a Chinese name."
Yeah, Mao is a Chinese (according to Newtype February issue). But the thought of using Mao for disrespecting other nation never pops up in my mind. There might be no reason to why they choose Mao's nationality as Chinese.

Rest easy, at least China's still much better off than Britain and the U.S. It's one grudge against wholesale massacres! Surely Mao is much less twisted than...say, Lelouch. Or Cornelia. Or Clovis.

But really, Mao came off pretty sympathetic to me, with all he's been through. It can't really be helped that he's insane. C.C.'s mostly to blame, ironically, and she has no nation.

Hmm...Mao never really struck me as being disrespectful to China(though someone in another forum exclaimed after Newtype Feb is out that Mao is a disgrace to Chinese people. XDD). He's probably a Chinese because it's easier for him to get from China to Japan than from...uhh...Africa or something.

I do want a good explanation as of why Mao didn't die in this episode. But since it's Sunrise, the best explanation they could come up with is "the bullets didn't hit the vital places" or none at all. Seeing how they gave "it was one of his preparations!" for Lulu's ability to pilot a Knightmare. Geass users might even be the equivalent of Homunuculi in FMA anime. Tons of Philosopher's Stones in their stomach. lol

After seeing the Viletta service in this episode, Code Geass being originally scheduled to be a Sat6 episode but was instead given a midnight slot due to service scenes certainly makes more sense. I totally won't mind services in HiME or Otome and all...but Geass? I just hope it doesn't get worse.

Looking forward to Mao's...uh...vaporization, death, rocket launch, or mind-wipe next episode. Choose whichever you like. (btw, I'd go for rocket launch)

I hope Mao is gone for good. He was so effing retarded. He definitely reminded me of someone, though, from a different series; but I can't think who....

@ Hikki

By looking at the title and the preview of the next episode, Mao....apparently is still alive after all those gun shots....lol

So, we will probably see him again in the next episode, and apparently he is the one who is going to kidnap Nanaly

Wow! I wonder how old C.C is. 11 years ago she looked the same as now. And i hope C.C and Lelouch dont be together, cause i really hate this pairing

What's interesting is that despite Mao being crazy as all heck, CC really DOES seem to care about him on some level. When Lelouch is taking her away, she says something like "If you just talk to him properly-!" and when Mao is shot, she blurts out his name.

Though it looks like Mao was killed in this ep, spoilers seem to indicate otherwise.

I AM surprised that so many people find it so difficult to believe Mao can't be alive, when CC has been shown to come back from fatal wounds in short periods of time.

CC has commented that the "power of the king" will isolate a person, and that a person can lose themselves to the Geass.

One theory: Perhaps people with Geass become much harder to kill, and heal faster? I remember Lelouch bleeding from a head wound at the end of episode 13, but by 14, he's got no visible injuries.

Hi berz,

I actually experienced the same thing around Saturday but I haven't been able to figure out why. It's like the page exists and the database exists but they won't connect with each other. It did work after I rebuilt the entire database though, which is what I'm doing right now. Would you be able to see if it works on your side as well? And thank you for telling me about this.

They did seem quite happy in the past...so they're still harbouring feelings for each other, I guess? I would like to see why CC left him in the next ep, but 16 would probably be devoted to Mao peeling off Suzaku's mask and revealing his past.

I used to have a theory like that too and I kind of like it.:DD I just have a really soft spot for inhuman healing speed/abilities. But CC's not a human, while Mao probably is, albeit mentally unstable, so it's kinda to accept the fact that he's alive after being bullet showered and all...

@Defade:

I don't remember the flashback sequence that CC had, but I don't think there was anything conclusive showing that CC wasn't human to begin with.

Certainly, she's not human now, what with her MAD regenerative abilities. (I'm gonna assume they're good enough to even handle dismemberment, or Mao's actions would have made absolutely no sense at all). But Lelouch once commented that her blood was red like a human's.

My personal guess is that the Geass power might make people immortal, the more it invades a person's body, and that might be what CC really means by "the power will isolate you."

Further along those lines, I'm personally guessing that CC's wish is to die, and that's why she left Mao. ('cause he's not going to do it.). Geass power needs to be used to become stronger, and while right now Geass don't work on CC(with the exception of when Lelouch touched her shoulder when she was messing with Suzaku), if someone were to power up enough, they might be able to remove the Geass from her, rendering her mortal. It might also explain what happened to all the other people with the Geass crest in CC's flashback, as well as how she was once a child but has now apparently stopped aging.

Well, it's pure speculative BS on my part, and I'll most likely be proven wrong in a short period of time.

Then, geass would have to stop one's ageing at a certain point, or C² has to be a special case, because Mao didn't look like a 6-year old to me.

Don't know what the problem is, I like this episode alot better than the last one, seeing how this was Lelouch's payback for what Mao did to Shirely.

I personally thought it was a pretty good trick of his.

Also, in case you guys missed out a whole minute of explaination - C.C was a crappy 'mom', she didn't teach him the basics of life, hence Mao grew up the way he did, end of story. Don't know what so difficult to understand about that...

Also, they're not dead, they're NEVER dead until the end of the series, I thought you guys knew all about Sunrise's series... Also, Anime law states that most characters won't die from gunshot wounds, no matter how many- they'll always miss the vital points.

The use of Mao does not insult the chinese (/roll eyes), if thats the case how many animes would get sued if they use common names for their crazy people? It's JUST A NAME...Honestly...

Hmm... although I personally like this series a lot, I'm going to have to agree that its not giving me the impact as it usually would. Seeing this episode is like pointless, I probably could've seen the next episode and still know whats going on. Though maybe their lagging it for some greater purpose. Well at least I HOPE so.

In other news I never really understood C.C.'s story. I thought there would be more Geass users for sure. But not the fact that they have been given the power from C.C. Its just a thought I had in mind before. Anyone else perceive that? I don't wanna be a loner. D:

Cheers

my impression of this eps..."oh my god!!!" what a loon..mao almost slicing CC.. instead of being afraid i laughed at what he did..lulu was really cool in this eps..his ways of provoking mao was priceless...i wanna know in what way did mao not fulfill the contract with CC..i love this eps..the development between CC and lulu is something to look forward to...

@Blue: "I'm personally guessing that CC's wish is to die" that is a pretty good theory...but if mao wouldn't do "it" as you say then wouldn't CC just have let mao slice up her body into teensy peices?

@chaos2frozen:"C.C was a crappy 'mom'"..i don't think CC gave mao geass just to take care of him..although i agree that it was partly CC's fault..i don't think that their relationship was of a mother and child but for mao as a bestfriend and a lover...

i love this comment section it...im learning a whole lot about this anime...your speculations and theories are great...^ _^..im happy to be here..
