I can't believe I just spent some good hours deleting all of the spams from my blog. Sometimes I wish I can grab those spammers by their neck and force-feed them those pills that they advertise so often. Having said that, this forced me to accept that it's about time I update my blogging software. It's been a while since I do that. The thing is, updating your blog is a long-winded and difficult process. That's why I've been holding off on doing it. Anyway, moving along, this episode is actually pretty good. It moves a lot of Fuko-related issues in one go. The lack of comedy doesn't actually bother me because at least we get some kind of progress in terms of storyline. I think the main thing that bothers me so far was the lack of progress and this episode is a change in the right direction. Anyway, I'm sorry for the very short summary. I figured most people have already seen the episode anyway so there's no point to tread over it again.
In the aftermath of Ibuki-sensei's inability to see Fuko, Tomoya and Nagisa tells her that maybe Ibuki-sensei should go ahead with her wedding plan since that would have made Fuko happy. Ibuki-sensei agrees with this so Fuko decides to give out more starfish carvings to other students. Tomoya suggests that they give one to Kotomi, who surprisingly recognizes the object as a star. Much to Fuko's delight, Kotomi actually knows a lot about starfish, including the species name. Later on, Fuko and Tomoya has one of their mini fights again only to be interrupted by Sunohara. When Sunohara ends up fighting with Fuko as well, Fuko perform a silent whistle and all of a sudden a bunch of Fuko's fans come and take Sunohara away from the area. After school, Tomoya and Nagisa visits Ibuki-sensei again. They find out from her that Fuko wasn't good at making friends and had the tendency to hang around her sister's side most of the time.
At a group meeting, Tomoya suggests that they make a different carving so they can attract more people to the wedding. When Nagisa suggests that they make big dango family, Fuko can't help but saying that starfish is cuter. So the two girls are now fighting to determine which one is cuter: starfish or big dango family. The two, however, quickly agree that big dango family and starfish can share the first place. Later on that day, Tomoya and Nagisa go back to Ibuki-sensei to let her know that they have talked to another teacher about having the wedding at the school. Unfortunately, Ibuki-sensei has a bad news: it seems Fuko's condition is getting worse. When Tomoya returns to his residence, Sunohara informs him that something strange has happened to Fuko lately: people can't seem to see her and those who got her present seem to have forgotten about her. Because of this, Sunohara wants to know what's going on and Fuko's true identity.
Impression:
If I have to guess, I think Fuko's condition is similar to Midori's condition in Midori no Hibi. Fuko probably finds her dream world to be far more fulfilling than her real life and therefore refuses to go back to the real world. The problem is, this life she's living now is not real. Therefore, the longer she stays in it, the less likely she can go back to the real world. The thing that I want to know is how this happened in the first place. Unlike the town in Kanon, there doesn't seem to be anything magical about the town where Tomoya lives. Moving along, there wasn't many comedic scenes in this episode but I really like the scene where Sunohara got bashed with the wooden starfish. Well, if he's dumb enough to do what Tomoya asked him to do then he probably deserved those bashing. It was a bit weird though when Sunohara suddenly turned serious and observant towards the end of the episode. It felt like it came out of nowhere.
About Sunohara, I think it is not strange for him to investigate about Fuko after he knows that her existance is supernatural.
By the way, I wonder how the "Fuko Master" thing will affect the following storyline. Kyoto Animation seems to spend too much time on these jokes.
The last link in your entry is broken.
Whoops; could you remove my email adress from the previous post please? I didn’t remember that I don’t have to enter it here.
Sunohara isnm't just for comedy relief. He may act like that on the outside but deep down he is a caring person. It wasn't out of nowhere it was comepletly expected from anyone in this situation.
Regardless if Fuko's story is similar to Midori no Hibi, it probably will do a much better job in presenting it.
(fuko master is done)
Hi Ashura, could you be more specific about the broken thing? And yes, I'll remove your email.
You wanted to put a link to Midori Days, but the entire passage has become a link to those entries while the name is missing.
Garten, this is unrelated to Clannad but I thought you might want to know this unless you already know since it was announced a while ago: Honey & Clover is getting a TV Drama!
Here are links to the revealed cast's pages at DramaWiki so far:
Hagu, Takemoto, Morita, Mayama and Yamada.
Other people have been listed in the cast here as well, but it doesn't say which roles they will be playing.
Well now. The links didn't post. o.o Go go first time commenting here. Sorry about that!

Garten,
Since you're a little behind now, I'd suggest doing Clannad eps. 8 & 9 together in one entry (maybe devoting a majority of it to 9), if you're not already thinking about it already.
Episode 9 is supposed to be a pretty good ep., so it might be good just to blow through 8 and move the blog to there.
Garten,
I suggest you do what Edward said. EP 9 is wonderful.
It's nice :) But i would like to ask you, that won't you continue Monster? You're nearly in the end of the series, and I am curious about your opinion.
