The latest Animage magazine came with a DVD containing a bunch of trailers to promote the upcoming anime season. I decided to encode some of them in case you're interested. Just be aware that the Rozen Maiden: Traumend, Mai Otome, and Jigoku Shoujo trailers are essentially similar to the one posted at their official site or elsewhere. In addition to this, I had to use MP4 format to encode these files since I don't know better programs to encode the VOB files that I've extracted from the DVD. Anyway, the files can be opened using Quicktime 6.5 or above. And if you have a PSP, you can put them in your PSP video folder. Anyway, let me know what you think about these trailers. And if there's a particular trailer that you want to see from the list I included behind the cut, please let me know.
Update: Paradise Kiss official site now has a small trailer to download.
Angel Heart (3MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Arashi no Yoru ni (10.7MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Binchoutan (6.2MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Blood+ | Mirror (14.4MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Ergo Proxy (1.8MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Fafner in the Azure: Right of Left | Mirror (13.7MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Gin Iro no Kami no Agito | Mirror (13.9MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Happy Seven (10.4MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Jigoku Shoujo (5.9MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Lamune (8.7MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Mai Otome (1.6MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Noein | Mirror (10.9MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Rozen Maiden: Traumend (7.4MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Paradise Kiss (1.6MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
SoltyRei (12.7MB, for PSP/Quicktime)
Here are the list of the entire trailers. It's unfortunate that there is no trailer for available for Mushishi, Cluster Edge, or Ginban Kaleidoscope. I really want to see if the anime version of Mushishi manages to capture the traditional painting look of the manga.

Could you please put up the Angel Heart?
Although I have a feeling I'm the only person on the entire internet who is actually going to watch the show.
Cheers for putting the trailers up as always - you're a life saver. Any of the others are also always welcome ^_~
I'm not quite sure what to make of Paradise Kiss from such a short trailer. It immediately strikes me as looking a LOT like Beck in directorial style, which was too languidly paced and poorly animated for me to really get into, so I hope things are different here. Much to my shame, I really like that OP music playing in the background!
Any enthusiasm I had for SoltyRei, on the other hand, has completely drained away. I think the trailer looks awful - bad animation, the usual Gonzo CG mecha travesties and a lead probably designed to get the loli fanboys a-drooling. If that was supposed to interest me in the series it did completely the opposite.
Haven't watched any of the others since they're similar to the ones on the Net already, but thanks again for putting them up!
Thanks for the trailers. Can you post the trailers for Lamune and Happy Seven please. I want to see if they have any potential at all.
Ach, sad that there's no Mushishi trailer. I hope that doesn't mean that the production is behind schedule. Oh well. Am getting the Paradise Kiss one... thank you so much for the uploads!
Just wondering though, is the Noein one the same one as http://www.b-ch.com/free/mf/noein_pv01/index.html ? If not could you upload it? Thank you so much.
Okay, Angel Heart, Ergo Proxy, and Blood+ are up. Unfortunately, I'll have to do the other request later. I'm a bit sleepy at the moment.
Wao, the Noein trailer is the same as the other one but I can upload it when I upload other requests later on.
Thanks a lot for the uploads. I'd like to echo wao's request for the Noein trailer, because the one on the website doesn't work for me. T.T
And yeh, the Paradise Kiss trailer definitely brings Beck to mind. However, I believe the character designs are being handled by someone completely different, so maybe there'll be some stylistic differences.
Let's hope that Osamu Kobayashi is working with a bigger budget this time.
I dont like to complain but the downloads dont seem to be working as of this comment.
Is Ergo Proxy really for the fall?
Yes, I seem to have the same problem, Blood+, ParaKiss dont seem to work for me.
7Th, I'm not sure when Ergo Proxy is supposed to start. I thought it was December but the trailer is included in the DVD so maybe it'll start sooner? Does anyone has info on this?
As for downloads, I've now re-uploaded them into other servers. I haven't been able to re-upload Angel Heart, Blood+, and Ergo Proxy so can anyone please let me know which one doesn't work apart from Blood+?
Gotta agree with BluWacky about Solty Rei. It was one of the ones that I was excited about this season, but after looking at that "preview," which wasn't that much of a preview at all, I can't say I still hold the same amount of excitement. I wish these studios would give up on 3DCG all together until it can all look like FF7:AC or something. The only series I had absolutely no gripes with as far was 3DCG goes was Last Exile. That was a beautiful piece of work. Otherwise...meh. But aside from that, the trailer just showed a bunch of idle chat...without the chat. I'll just have to wait and see...
Soukyuu no Fafner Right or Left actually exists!!! I thought it was an urban legend. Thank you so much for putting the YSI links, because I can't download from Megaupload. Parakiss looks good and Jigoku Shoujo trailer reminds me of Project Zero videogames (Fatal Frame in other countries, I think). It looks interesting.
Yeah, it exists. Here's the page for it, but there isn't much there yet: http://www.starchild.co.jp/fafner/
Ergo Proxy definitely isn't starting in October (there's been little promotion for it beyond that trailer which has been available on the show's website for a while now). I'd say January, but then Champloo (manglobe's previous show) started in a random month so who knows?
I'm almost interested in Happy 7 now, thanks to that trailer - I am a sucker for magical girls, although I still don't think it'll be particularly great or anything. Lamune, on the other hand, looks almost totally devoid of animation - NOT a good sign...
I think Angel Heart looks like an interesting show based on the trailer. I'll definitely give it a try. Happy seven doesn't seem to have any potential at all. I think ARIA should be a better choice for a cheerful show than Happy Seven. As for Lamune, the trailer only introduced the characters so I didn't get much information out of it. I'll just have to wait until the show actually starts and see for myself. Thanks a lot for posting all these trailers.
The trailer that really GRABBED my attention was Noien, I can feel it will turn out to be the most epic show of the year.
I'll check Paradise Kiss, I can't really stomach shoujo, but I love Kobayashi's directing style. The designs also look most stylized than the usual shojo flik.
From it's trailer, it's easy to tell Ergo Proxy and Blood+ will have big production values, but I was already looking forward to them. Anyway, if the song in the background of the B+ is from the soundtrack... then I believe Zimmer will just reuse Begins score and add it a few new techno bits.
Noein impressed me the most as well, it looks to be a very original show. Blood+ is my other favorite, followed by Paradise Kiss - I like the manga, and I like the directors previous work.
Lamune looks terrible. At first I thought it was a harem, but there are no boys. It looks like these girls will be roomates? Well, if it has any hint of real shoujo-ai, then maybe it will be good, but I doubt it.
Can't say much for the rest. Angel Heart has an old school style. Is it related to the anime City Hunter? Not expecting great things from My Otome. The new girl looks like an annoying loli, she'll be no match for Mai. Rozen Maiden, I didn't watch. Happy Seven looks like the show that will never be fansubbed. Solty Rei, I agree with BluWacky.
Definitely looking forward to Noein. And now I'm looking forward to Angel Heart even though I haven't seen City Hunter yet (been planning to see it but I'm still waiting on DVD Pacific to get it in freakin' stock). But I hear it's some sort of alternate retelling so hopefully I can follow it. If now, I'll just wait until I see City Hunter.
Fafner Right of Left trailer was weak. Just clips from the TV series. I'm not a big fan of Fafner but I thought it was okay so I'll check out RoL since it's likely to be a short one-shot.
Ergo Proxy looks amazing. I think Manglobe may be the next big studio. Their quality, at least on the animation side of things, rivals Studio Bones now.
About Manglobe rivaling Bones animation quality... I believe they're on whole diferent levels. Manglobe animation style is way more playful, while Bones sticks with the norm.
But, why do you remark the "now"? The stylish animation on Samurai Champloo is at least on par with every single TV series in Studio Bones has done yet. Damn, I may even dare to say it surpasses animation wise most of their works to date.
You're right. I didn't really mean "now." It definitely already rivals or surpasses Bones in production quality; more so surpasses than rivals. Bad wording on my part.
hi, first time visitor to your site. link via other anime blogs.
thanks for the trailers! just wondering though, do you allow redistribution?
really looking forward to rozen maiden, shinku is love. maiotome looks pretty blah to me at the moment though.
Thank you for putting the Fafner Right or Left trailer up! Though I was waiting something more than what is shown on the website...
And Noein...looks just amazing. I am looking forward to it(more series to watch...). Hope this season is better than this summer one...
Many thanks for letting us watch those awesome trailers as well!
Personally Paradise Kiss is what I'm starving for to see this autumn season. The trailer just got me totaly hooked now (love that song) and of course being addicted to Nobuteru Yuki chara designs helps to support that as well ^_^
Best Regards,
littleharlock
Sorry dezany1, but I have to say no to redistribution. At least not the PSP files. But if any subber intend to release one of these trailers as avi for the masses, I'll give them the high-res VOB files.
As a side note, I just saw Gin Iro no Kami no Agito trailer. This turns out to be quite good looking too. I'd see if I can find the time to encode this one.
Mushishi? Traditional painting look? Hmm, sounds something I'd like to see.
Oh! Thanks for putting up the ParaKisu trailer :D
I knew there'd be people impressed by Noein... where's all the Satelight fanboys?! Wake up!! ...
I haven't checked out that Gin Iro no Kami no Agito (why do I keep thinking Kamen Rider Agito...) trailer yet but I *have* seen one at the official site quite some time ago. A film by Gonzo - which uses professional actors as seiyuu rather than professional seiyuu. Taking Ghibli's lead in that way? Actually the whole show seems somewhat inspired by Nausicaa/Conan (then again, so do a ton of others). I rmember the trailer had some nice visuals but I still don't like Gonzo. (What did they do to Speed Grapher? The bastards).
I suppose it's the same one... I remember there was nice music though. This film was originally supposed to be SPIRIT which then later morphed into this.
The ParaKiss trailer was very very Beck like, thanks for the trailer. I mean the nice guitar thing... immediately makes you think of Beck, and the colours and the feel, somehow. But alas, like BluWacky, much to my shame I seem to like that OP playing in the background. Like 7th I don't really like shoujo stuff and especially not about models but I do like the director's style, and I just feel Beck was hampered by awful funding. If ParaKiss gets funding as great as Honey and Clover I'll be over the moon. (Oh, and if the funding's used well, too. Not like SOME *hack cough* awful shows out there with gigantic budgets that somehow use impossible amounts of recycled clips)
KT: Angel Heart is anime set after the events of City Hunter but the basic premise is so upsetting to the devoted City Hunter fanbase that Tsukasa claimed that it's extracurricular and you don't have to see these people as the same characters, even though they are.
Well, I'm glad other people are interested in it.
Thanks for posting these trailers!
I'll definitely be watching "Jigoku Shoujo" and "Rozen Maiden ~Traumend~", though I wish the trailer for the latter had shown more of the new characters. As for "My-OTOME", well, the promotional trailers for the original series were a lot trashier than the series itself, so I retain dregs of hope for the sequel.
I didn't like the first few episodes of "City Hunter" (the whole "Mokkori" schtick got tiresome _very_ quickly), so I doubt I'll watch "Angel Heart".
I'm somewhat reassured by the "Blood+" trailer. Saya hasn't looked fierce enough in any of the promotional art, but she looks plenty deadly in the last trailer frame.
I like what I hear of the soundtrack for "Gin Iro no Kami no Agito". The first part sounds like Yuki Kajiura, but according to ANN it is Taku IWASAKI, who also did "Witch hunter Robin", "Sadamitsu" and "Read or Die", among other stuff.
Wow, "Lamune" looks really, really boring. The pink-haired biker girl is attractive, though. And "SoltyRei" seems totally contrived and unbelievable. Why does Gonzo even _bother_ with the 3DCG mecha when their character animation is so good? "Burst Angel", for instance, would have been much, much better without the fake-looking mecha action.
"Moon Phase" currently gives a release date of "--/--" for "Ergo Proxy", so I don't think there has been anything officially said about when it will debut. (But I'm definitely looking forward to it when it does arrive.)
wao, I've been drooling over Noein for weeks now :p I believe there's going to be a broadcast of the first episode over the net on the 21st - it's 500 yen, but I think I may just have to pay for it...
The Shakugan no Shana Prelude DVD has made its way onto the Net now in the usual places - I'd heard (rather depressingly) that it was something of a moe comedy, but the trailer makes it look like a dark fantasy action show, much more up my street (although the animation looks a little inconsistent, as to be expected from JC Staff)
dbm, the music at the beginning of the trailer for Agito (is his hair really silver, as the title of the film suggests?) is the song "Chouwa", by KOKIA - I THINK they're using it for the theme song of the film, I know KOKIA is definitely singing it whatever happens though.
Thanks for the previews, they were interesting to watch. I'm glad there's a new Fafner out, considering I didn't get to watch much of the old one, I might do the whole bit once the new one comes out. Incidentally, does anyone know the name of the song that is playing in the background of that trailer? It sounds really nice, and I'd like to transcribe it, but I don't know the name.
As for the other animes, the ones I'm watching out for are Paradise Kiss (character designs are quite nice, and the music is pretty pop-ish), Noein (damn, that was just a good trailer), and Blood.
For the movies, I really like the preview of Gin Iro no Kami no Agito. The opening music at the end sounds a lot like what Yuki Kajiura would do- or maybe it's just me. The scenes at the end reminded me of a Studio Gibhli production.
I'm a huge fan of Mai-Hime, but seriously, Mai-Otome? The main character is smack compared to old Mai. The preview was also pure rot. Hopefully, I'm wrong, and it's just the trailer just really really sucked.
thnx alot for these..i downloaded most of them..
although i have a problem with downloading Noein,Blood+ and Fafner's trailer... they stop halfway..since i'm on a 56k connection i have a problem..could u upload them to more stable servers..like rapidshare.de?
Sorry if this is old... but I didn't noticed this.. ParaKiss ending is by Franz Ferdinand. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5081
LOL
What's the deal with occidental composers at anime music this season?
oh truly your post is my saviour! thanks! taking heaps of them. mind if i link this entry in my journal?
7th: lol. i'm amused. never did i imagine parakiss with franz ferdinand music. but now that it does... hell i think it really kinda fits xD
>>could u upload them to more stable servers..like rapidshare.de?
Yami-kun, the trailers you couldn't download are now available at Rapidshare.de. Just click on the 'mirror' one instead of the title.
>> mind if i link this entry in my journal?
Not at all. Go ahead.^^
There's a sort-of trailer for Cluster Edge available on Sony Music's website at http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/anime/index.html#cluste (click the blue button below the Cluster Edge image) - it's mainly just a gloss of terms used in the series and some character names, but at least we get to hear the OP "Fly High" by surface - it's a half-decent rock number.
Thanks for putting these up Garten. Now I have something else on my PSP besides Honey & Clover...
Thx, so I did :D
Most of the trailers looks really haphazardly done. Esp Soltyrei.. Which is a shame cos it looks pretty good, kind of GitS meets uh.. huge eyed shoujo-tachi?
Anway. really looking forward to Agito, i like how it reminded me of CS Arjuna, the music and the earth globe thing xD
And Arashi no Yoru ni... cos i'm a sucker for children story with animal like that.
BluWacky:
"as to be expected from JC Staff"
Actually it's Studio Deen. Either way it's still inconsistent - Deen and JC Staff are both one of my less favourite studios. Though Deen *can* churn out well animated stuff if they can get in the right animators (freelancers too) and other people, and have enough budget...
I guess.
These are some *awesome* trailers for the upcoming season. Thanks so much for posting them! :)
Thnx for putting them up. However, could you reseed The Happy Seven Trailer. I wanted to see that one and it is down sigh..
