Hmm, I thought it's kind of normal to have two versions of a theme song with each FF. I think FFIX (Melody of Life) had a Japanese and English version and FFX (Real Emotion) also came in Japanese and English version. The only one that I think came only in English version was FFVII's Eyes on Me.

The english version itself is quite a bit different from the translation but I spose that's to be expected.

Angela Aki wrote both of the lyrics her self and is fluent in both language (that's why it was a good idea to use her as a singer, I suppose) she's half japanese and half italian-american...

You should hear her cover of Eyes On Me :) It's not bad.

Good song, but I feel that Aki overdoes it with her singing and piano playing. I also have her other single "Kokoro no Senshi" and, again, I still feel she overdoes it.

And I absolutely hated her version of "Eyes on Me", Faye Wong's original is much better, but that's just my preference.

It'd be interesting to see which scene they incorporate the song into.

meh, I really like the song, Kiss Me Goodbye, I think that the english was better than the Japanese version. I'm not really fond of her rendition of eyes on me, Faye Wong to me caught the tenderness of the song better. But Angela's other songs are really excelent!
